strummer Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I think I heard Rick Sutcliffe say that Frank Thomas clogs up the base paths will all those walks. Having a beer with Dusty Baker after the game Sut?
Guest Princess Leena Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Rick has a point with Thomas, though.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I don't think the A's are gonna blow this one. Eeeeyikes.
naiwf Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 There goes the season. I never would have predicted the Twins would be swept.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Maybe it's because I'm a Cubs fan, so I sympathize with most losing, or because the Twins' run from June on was so remarkable, but I feel pretty bad for the Twins right now.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 So much for that late-season push for the division title. Are the BB2N guys gonna say that they exhausted themselves by not "aiming for the wild card"?
The Man in Blak Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Morneau with a homer to cut the lead to five. You know, I hate to say that the Twins "choked" here, since they weren't necessarily overwhelming favorites, but I think it's plain to see that they're playing about as badly as they have at any point this year. Credit to Oakland for capitalizing on every mistake and completely shutting down the "pirahnas" at the plate.
Guest NYankees Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Congrats to the A's for winning their first playoff series of this decade. I would have never guessed that Santana, Morneau Mauer and Nathan would get swept in the playoffs. It's funny how things look so promising for your team on Monday and by Friday they are eliminated.
Guest NYankees Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 So much for that late-season push for the division title. Are the BB2N guys gonna say that they exhausted themselves by not "aiming for the wild card"? It would be funny if the Tigers who blew the division beat the Yankees while the Twins who won the division gets swept by the A's.
Brett Favre Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 It would, but then again it wouldn't.
Bored Posted October 6, 2006 Author Report Posted October 6, 2006 FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Biggest win since clinching the division on the last day of the season in 2000. I'm going to the game Tuesday if its the Tigers or Friday if its the Yankees.
Guest Paul Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Bad way for Radke to go out though...
Guest Princess Leena Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boo. Go Yankees.
The Man in Blak Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 SHUT UP ABOUT THE COFFEE SPILL You know, I would never consider ESPN to be a bastion of journalistic integrity, but this is becoming a new low, even for them.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I picked the Twins to win the World Series. I guess I better stick with my 1-2 KKKBowl team.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I'm sorta glad this was a sweep, because I've watched every game of the postseason (IT'S MY DUTY JUDY), and quite frankly, I'm getting burned out.
snuffbox Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 You've even sat through the Cards-Padres games with Chris Berman jabbering all of his nonsense?

Guest Felonies! Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 You've even sat through the Cards-Padres games with Chris Berman jabbering all of his nonsense? Like seven innings. Even I have my limits. Chris Berman, for a professional broadcaster, whose job it is to talk into a microphone, really struggles with his phrasing. That is to say, he never knows when to stop and take a breath. It boggles the mind.
Vern Gagne Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I'm stunned they played this bad. All the regulars did something to fuck things up. The bullpen didn't do it's job.
Just John Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I have stupid class times and missed most of the A's/Twins games... What is this about spilling coffee?
Vern Gagne Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Milton Bradley "accidentally" spilled coffee on Esteban Loaiza.
Guest Princess Leena Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 And Bradley was so scared since Loaiza went all Kane on him after the coffee spill, that's why he lost the ball in the ugly ceiling.
Just John Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Milton Bradley "accidentally" spilled coffee on Esteban Loaiza. Ah, thanks. "You think this is about... Coffee?"
In Credible Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 because I've watched every game of the postseason (IT'S MY DUTY JUDY), and quite frankly, I'm getting burned out. Translation: I have no friends.
Slayer Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 People with friends can't watch postseason baseball
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 People with friends can't watch postseason baseball But I watch postseason baseball all the time! Oh wait...
