RonL21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Just Got Back from the Show Here's what we have.... Dark Match- Matt Hardy vs. Greg Helms-Good match..Got the crowd up..Hardy Wins with Twist of Fate...Too bad it was non-title *Just For Your Info* ECW was taped first..So the Helms/Hardy match was done on the ECW set...After ECW was done, They had a 10-15 minute intermission to change the ropes and apron and pull the curtain to reveal the SmackDown Set...I mean they brought out a bin with the SmackDown ropes and the Apron..Even Tony Chimel assisted a little SmackDown- The Show opens with Kennedy talking about how he wants to go to Raw to because he beat Taker..He then calls out someone to face him for the US Title and Natually out comes the Crippler...Good back and forth match...Undertaker's musics hits, he comes out and stands at entrance, this distracts Kennedy and Benoit gets in the Crossface, Ken Taps and Chris Benoit is your new US Champ... William Regal vs. Vito Good match..Vito had on a thong under his dress which was quite unpleasant..Regal came with the stiffness....Vito catches him slipping, then gets him from the top rope with a seated senton for the pin MVP Segment MVP comes out and talks about how he wants to face the best but there is no one on SmackDown who can beat him..So out Comes Teddy Long to fix that problem..He says he has some one who can bring it and he Calls out.........The Big Red Machine Kane Fresh from RAW....The Crowd went bananas when Kane's pyro hit...MVP stalled like hell and then went to the outside and Kane followed him, Whopped his ass and MVP ran to the back.... Six man tag match Kendrick, London , and Jimmy wang vs. Idol Stevens KC James, and Sylvan Nice tag match...Jimmy wang hit a moonsault for his first pinfall victory Rey Mysterio vs. Jaime Noble Chavo and Vicky come out to watch...This was a decent match...Rey wins with the Frog splash...Him and Chavo bicker on the Mic and Chavo challenges Rey to an I quit match next week on SmackDown...With the Loser obviously having to quit... Triple Threat #1 Contender match Lashley Vs. Finlay vs. Batista King Booker and Queen Sharmell join Bradshaw and Michael Cole for commentary... Fairly Decent Triple threat match the usually one man on the outside while two brawl in the ring..Little Bastard of course makes an appearance...The match heats up when Lashley and Finlay team up to put Batista through the announcing table, they then go in the ring and brawl..Finlay hits the Celtic cross but Batista breaks up the count...Later Little bastard trys to sneak Finaly a chair but the ref sees it..while the ref is distracted...Finlay hits Lashley with the Shileglih but Batista counters and hits him with the spinebuster followed by the Batista bomb for the win...So next week it'll be King Booker vs. Bastista for the World Heavyweight Championship.....Batista and Booker jaw with each other and I think after they go off the air Booker gets in the ring and they exchanges blows..Batista goes for Batista bomb but Book leaves the Ring.....Batista poses..END OF SHOW I dont think left anything out...If I did sorry...Watch the Show though..It's a good one.. RonL21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Just wondering but was ECW taped on this SD show as well? Yup..It airs next Tuesday...I guess I should do a review for that too..It's actually kinda cool how they do it...They cover up the SmackDown set with curtains and they do ECW first... Taker666 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Kane on SmackDown!. FUCKING SWEET!!. Two of my fav in WWE, Undertaker and Kane are on SmackDown now which is Awesome! . and now that Kane is on SmackDown he HAS to win the World Title sometime within the coming year. If Freakin Rey Mysterio and Booker T could win the World Title, theres no doubt kane should to.

RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Kane against MVP? Ugh - waiting at least a few weeks to put Kane on SD would be nice, plus the way things are looking, unless they are planning on turning Lashley or something, a monster heel is SERIOUSLY needed on this show and Kane could at least temporarily fill this void. Some sick thought is to turn Kane heel within the next few months, making way for a Boogieman return.......err or maybe not. Rey's last match obviously next week....that explains the dual jobs by Chavo this week. Man, the company can't make their mind up on Batista it seems. I hate to say it, though, but Batista would be much better suited for the Cyber Sunday match instead of Booker. Feel like its a downgrade to give Benoit the US belt so quickly there, and I think that means Kennedy is really moving to Raw. Must be some nonsensical "trade" for Kane. RonL21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 I guess those who said Kane was going to take six months off or whatever were wrong...At least now anyways..Kane actually was a great surprise and got the loudest pop besides Batista who is more over than I thought...I mean I was surprised at how much this guy is the Man.. LJSexay 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 I'd be really pissed if Kennedy moves to Raw. I don't like that storyline of him wanting to go either. I mean what's he really going to do there? IC title hunt along with 5 other guys who are doing NOTHING? Or get buried by DX ike the rest of Raw? ugh.. hate this storyline.. also, I think Booker is a great representative for Smackdown. He gets serious once he gets upset, and it's a nice full-circle for him.. to be able to be at the top of a brand, when he had been stuck in the midcard for so long on the other brand (he even said so himself on Monday). Almost makes it seem like Smackdown is the brand full of opportunity, although that can also say something about how tattered the roster has been this year... Almost makes it seem like Smackdown is the brand full of opportunity, although that can also say something about how tattered the roster has been this year... I'm all for Booker continuing to be put over, but I just dont think he's the guy they need on top right now. He's had the chance now - the King gimmick, to me, is REALLY wearing thin and dull, and is starting to come off really second rate for a world champ to be presented as. A heel Batista would be the best probably more than anything, and guys like Booker and Finley/Regal still with Booker as a faction would be a fantastic main event level deal against guys like Benoit, etc. I just think whoever the guy is on top here, they need to be taken more seriously as a threat, especially with the character they are presented as. Having a guy doing a mediocre King gimmick just aint working on top, whereas having a guy like Batista going heel and moreless tearing shit up is what they need. Lashley or Kane could also fit that role fine but the first thought to fill that is Batista at this point.

Taker666 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Couldn't they have waited till Survivor Series to give Benoit the US Title? I mean this is now the 4th time in a row the US Title has changed hands on TV. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 From PWI Smackdown Spoilers For Friday: Opened with a No Mercy recap. It's the same one from Raw. Announced that Batista, Bobby Lashley, and Finlay will be facing off in a number one contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship on next week's edition of Smackdown. Ken Kennedy makes his way out and cuts a promo. He opens by saying that he's asked Teddy to move him to Raw since he's beaten all on Smackdown. However Teddy said no since he hadn't beaten Undertaker. Well at No Mercy he did just that. Kennedy said he didn't care how he won it and that all that mattered was wins and losses and he defeated Taker. However that just wasn't good enough for Teddy. Kennedy then puts his title on the line against someone he hasn't defeated on Smackdown and when he beats him, then he's heading to Raw. Ken Kennedy vs Chris Benoit for the United States Championship. Benoit dominated early, and then Kennedy takes over after Benoit's attempt to turn the Sharp Shooter into the Crossface backfires. Kennedy stays in control until Undertaker's music hits and he stares at the entrance way. Benoit then takes control again and wins the United States Championship at 15:42 when he gets Kennedy into the Crossface. We are then shown the segment on Raw when Vince books the Cyber Sunday main event. Backstage, King Booker wants Teddy Long to cancel the number 1 contenders match. Booker then says that he's Smackdown's only chance of winning at Cyber Sunday. Teddy Long then reminds King Booker that all three men hold wins over the champ, then says he's not changing his mind. William Regal comes out and we are all reminded of what happened to him at No Mercy. William Regal vs Vito: Basically the same match we've seen from these two before. Vito wins at 4:26 after he counters a sunset flip and sits on top of Regal. Lashley then is shown backstage saying that he's faced adversity before and welcomes the pressure. Lashley also says he will not only become the number 1 contender, but become World Champion. MVP makes an appearance and says he has a MVP sized problem. His problem was that there was no competition and that Teddy Long was trying to play him with the match he had at No Mercy. MVP says that he's ready for his Smackdown debut and wants something he can sink his teeth into and that will make him work up at sweat. Teddy Long then comes out and says if he wants to break a sweat, it's gonna get real hot. Kane then comes out. During this segment, crowd breaks out into a loud 'Power Rangers' chant. Kane vs MVP: Well it wasn't a match, but more or less a glorified beatdown. The bell never rang as every time the ref would call for the bell, MVP would prevent him and 'warm up'. Kane then beats MVP down around ringside before MVP rakes Kane's eyes and bails. John Cena at Paris Island video plays. During which Jamie Noble comes out. Jamie Noble vs Rey Mysterio. Before the match begins, Chavo and Vickie comes out to say hi. Chavo says not for Rey to worry as they will not venture ringside. The match itself was a decent back and forth affair won by Rey Mysterio after he hits the 619, springboard legdrop combo at 4:38. Post match, Chavo says that he's at the lowest point of his career. Chavo continues by saying that as long as both Rey and Chavo are on the same brand, there will always be problems. Chavo then challenges Rey to an I-Quit match where the loser must leave. Rey says something I was unable to hear, but Vickie comes back and says that the difference between Eddie and Rey was that Eddie had balls. Rey says that he will prove what he is made of and that "I Quit" is not going to come from Rey, but from Chavo. Paul London, Brian Kendrick and Jimmy Wang Yang (with Ashley) vs KC James, Idol Stevens and Sylvan (with Michelle McCool). This match broke down early and was that way for the majority of it. Jimmy Wang Yang pins Sylvan at 3:26 after hitting a moonsault. Cole asks Finlay, who is backstage a question. Finlay says he will be the world champion. Finlay says he will knock Lashley's teeth in and just beat down Batista. Batista then cuts a promo saying that he is going to get what he wants and it doesn't matter what he has to go through. Booker T and Sharmell join Michael Cole and JBL at ringside. Bobby Lashley vs Finlay vs Batista for the number one contendership to the World Heavyweight Championship next Friday. This was about as well as it was going to be. Nothing much happened in the first half of the match, but once all three men got outside, it got interesting. Batista takes the broadcast table apart, but is taken through it with the help of Lashley and Finlay. Lashley and Finlay then fight in the ring and after Finlay hits the Celtic Cross on Lashley, Batista breaks the count up on 2. Lashley goes for a military press and is speared by Batista. Batista pins Finlay cleanly at 13:47 after Finlay hits Lashley with the stick and Batista hits the Batista Bomb on Finlay. Post match, Batista and King Booker get involved in a stare down. King Booker gets into the ring and is beaten down, but before Booker is Batista Bombed, he bails. Unsure where the taping ended, if it was during the stare down, or after Batista got his hands on King Booker
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Ugh, I would have liked to have seen Kennedy hold onto the title a little longer than that. Sheesh. I hope Booker doesn't job next week. His run is great IMO!
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Even if he doesn't have the title now...it's not hard to see that he's getting a good push. I mean, even Orton needed interference to beat Taker...Taker felt the need to GET DQed against Kennedy. That says alot.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 Well, Benoit must be glad he came back. I can't wait for him to job the US title to MVP or Turkey.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 I love the King Booker gimmick, Booker is really making it work. I hope to god Batista doesn't get the title back, he is much more bland and plain then the majority of the WWE characters. It sucks that Benoit won the US Title. To me he should be above the US title, and should be in the main event level. Kennedy was the perfect US champ, and should've been fueding with Lashley for the title. I really dont like the WWE is doing with SD!
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 Well, Benoit must be glad he came back. I can't wait for him to job the US title to MVP or Turkey. I thought MVP's gimmick was that he sucks but asked for a lot of money (another money making, house drawing character by creative). I don't think him winning a title would fit that. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 They really shouldn't give Big Dave the title next week- if he's going to win it, make it at a big PPV so it's a huge deal. Finlay has to interfere- Booker's just so good as King Booker that it's too soon for him to lose the title
SteakGrowsOnUecker 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 I don't see what would be wrong with having Batista feud with Finlay for the next few months, win a few hard fought matches with him and then feud with Benoit for possibly the world title (even though that would mean we get a few more Benoit/Booker matches, which has been done way too many times). I think the quality of matches Batista could have with those two would really help him go back the heat he has lost.
