The Man in Blak Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 That version of God Bless America should be hitting YouTube within the hour.
bob_barron Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I missed a crappy God Bless American? Damn you Johnny Cash Tribute Special! While it's not having to watch Fox, whatever is on SportsNet is just as bad. Even though it's ridiciously ahead of the Fox feed
bobobrazil1984 Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 looks like that was a complete ass whooping. they went from red hot to ice cold.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 USA! USA! USA! I wish the Toronto Blue Jays were in the Series now. Heck, the Detroit Tigers' lineup already consists of a Puerto Rican, two Dominicans and two Venezuelans.
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I mean, I want it to go 6 games and all to give the Tigers a home game win, but I wish they didn't need to start the series like this. Side note: I've seen it many times previously, but it has to be said the Star Trek DirecTV commercial is excellent.
CanadianChris Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 While it's not having to watch Fox, whatever is on SportsNet is just as bad. Even though it's ridiciously ahead of the Fox feed Disagree. I like not having to watch all the extra crap that fox shoves down our throats, and even though he's not particularly good, Sutcliffe >>>>>>>> McCarver.
Guest Smues Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I muted my TV as soon as I realized God Bless America was about to start, but just watching that performance without sound was bad enough. I don't know if anything will be worse than Scott Stapp in 2004 though.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Reyes is gonna close this out at this rate. Tigers hitters are finally back to being them impatient selves.
The Man in Blak Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I don't know if anything will be worse than Scott Stapp in 2004 though. GAAAAAWD BLURSSSSSE AMURRRRICAHHHHHHHHH
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Dear lord, Neifi Perez makes a World Series appearance.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Is Jim Leyland making a god damn pitching change with two outs in the ninth inning of a six-run game? My god. I'll bet even LaRussa's saying, "Damn."
CanadianChris Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Is Jim Leyland making a god damn pitching change with two outs in the ninth inning of a six-run game? My god. I'll bet even LaRussa's saying, "Damn." Probably just wanted to get him some work, and didn't want to tire him out with too many batters in case he needed him for a save tomorrow.
Bored Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 JESUS CHRIST STOP WITH THE CLOSE UPS OF THE FANS! Tiger fans are dissapointed, we get it.
Slayer Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Touch Joe Buck's throat? I'd probably punch him in the throat. There's always writing, Joe!
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I am so happy to finally be free of fox for the World Series. I feel that way every year. I wonder why we have to put up with them for the rest of the playoffs.
The Man in Blak Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Touch Joe Buck's throat? I'd probably punch him in the throat. There's always writing, Joe! Then he'd have people feeling up his hands all the time.
The Man in Blak Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 8.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K For people who have been wondering how this team won 83 games this year, consider that they demoted that to the minors for three months of Sidney Ponson.
Guest Smues Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 And the national league world series game losing streak finally comes to an end at 8.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 I think a lot of people wrote off tonight's game because a virtual no-name was starting. That and the Tigers looked unbeatable since their first loss of the postseason. What a lot of people forgot to note is that you don't get to the Series by being a crappy team and Reyes is supposed to be the Cards' next big thing.
Precious Roy Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Well, I don't see how anyone can be surprised that the Cards won this game. The Tigers had like a f'n WEEK off and the Cardinals are riding a huge wave after upsetting the Mets IN New York. One team was rusty, one team was hot. I fully expected STL to take game 1.
Annabelle Posted October 22, 2006 Author Report Posted October 22, 2006 the tigers looked really awful. and i admit it scares me. if the gambler loses to jeff weaver tomorrow this series is over early.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 HE'S SINGING OUR COUNTRY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Guest Princess Leena Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Chevy represents my countryyyyy.
Hawk 34 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I like how Pujols appeared excited to listen to Mellencamp.
Guest Felonies! Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Oh great, they're having trouble. John Mellancamp: AAAAAAAAAAGGGG
Guest Felonies! Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Look at that fucking whore on the far right. Where'd they pick her up, a streetcorner in Newark?
Slayer Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 We don't even need to be in a commercial to be subjected to this song
Prophet of Mike Zagurski Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGG! Sing the national anthem and play ball.
Slayer Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Everytime I hear this song, I keep expecting them to sing "This is God's Country", in a show of self-crotch-grabbing jingoism
