Enigma Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Giant victory On the last ECW on Sci Fi, Rob Van Dam got the break he’s been looking for as he was able to come out on top of Big Show to earn an ECW World Title shot. ECW.com has learned that RVD will challenge the Extreme Giant for his gold this week on Sci Fi. Will the World's Largest Athlete make good on his guarantee to Van Dam? How will Big Show react to being pinned last week by RVD? Can the most dominant athlete in ECW continue his destruction? Or will the massive Extremist come face-to-face with reality? Making impact During last week's main event, Test made his allegiance clear when he ran into the ring and hit RVD with a chair, becoming just another obstacle Van Dam had to survive to reach his goal. But where does Hardcore Holly stand after taking out both Test and Big Show? The Extremist who had been keeping RVD from getting a shot at the title became the man RVD might not have been able to do it without. Has Holly's medical suspension been lifted? What will transpire between Test and Holly on ECW on Sci Fi this week? What is next for Paul Heyman’s most recent right-hand man, ECW's Impact Player Test? Will Striker strike back? In the first-ever Singapore Cane-on-a-Pole Match, Sandman made Matt Striker sorry he ever got involved with the ECW Original. Is the rivalry resolved or will the teacher find a way to strike back? Knox is jealous, Punk After CM Punk topped Rene Dupree for the second straight week, Mike Knox made an appearance. The jealous Extremist, however, backed off in his attack. CM Punk has had the edge so far in this rivalry, but Knox doesn’t appear to be ready to back off for good. How far will Knox’s jealousy take him? Find out the answers to all of these questions and more on ECW on Sci Fi at 10/9 CT.
cabbageboy Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I have to admit, I have no idea where they are going with some of this. Are they really going to just do Big Show vs. RVD for the title unannounced on TV? Can't see that. You know, I almost think they might get the title off of Show by doing a 3 or 4 way where the other guys just gang him and hit all their finishers on him, then all pin him at once (echoes of Taz losing the title vs. Awesome and Tanaka).
Art Sandusky Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I still have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make them "extremists." "Superstars" is okay, but extremists is just bad.
Broward83 Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 because if they were "superstars", they'd either be stuck wrestling on Sunday afternoons at 12pm, or they'd all be on RAW jobbing out to Trips or left to flounder in the lower mid-card...
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 At least they're not Xtremeists.. although its not XCW so I guess thats understandable..
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 The main event will be RVD vs. Big Show in a Ladder match.
DrVenkman PhD Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Excellent, both guys are on my Fantasy roster. RVD winning would make for a better Cyber Sunday main event but I don't see it, especially since it would mean they would already have taped Big Show with the ECW title for SmackDown (unless he conveniently didn't have it for the tag match main event).
Art Sandusky Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Has Big Show ever been involved in a ladder match?
NoCalMike Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 It's funny because lately, the ECW Preview is just as long as the RAW preview, only ECW is a one hour show. I truly hope that once ECW goes to two hours, it will be like having another hour of matches packing the show, and not so they can space out wrestling matches with the kind of lame crap we see on Raw.
Art Sandusky Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 They don't have enough people to fill two hours with matches each week and not run out of pairings very quickly.
NoCalMike Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I do wonder how all this RVD/Big Show stuff is going to affect the demand for a PPV match. Only thing I can think of is that they won't ever have a clean finish until the PPV, banking on the fans pretty much "knowing" that RVD is taking the title in December.
Mecca Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 So is it a foregone conclusion that ECW is going to get 2 hours at some point?
Jericholic82 Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 coming on right now Ill be back later hopefully
BorneAgain Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 ^ As soon as Vince finds a new Creed or Limp Bizkit song he likes.
Slickster Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 So RVD now has to beat Big Show in a ladder match to get a title shot.
Mecca Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 So when Big Show goes to climb the ladder will the rungs bend?
BorneAgain Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 RVD's won the right to have a contract created for his title shot. Now he just has to get access to it, via a ladder match.
The Amazing Rando Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 comedy comes as Test pulls it down and signs his own name after crossing out RVDs.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Maybe they'll lower the contract for Show to just grab when the ladder breaks. Then they can pan out to Heyman laughing maniacally.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Punk's gonna make it 10-0.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Hey, Punk is actually wrestling someone whose had a feud in ECW.
The Amazing Rando Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 "Divas" mention...take a drink. Matt Striker's Social Buddies ...take another drink.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 "no alcohol, no tobacco, no drugs" - Take a drink.
razazteca Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 So when Big Show goes to climb the ladder will the rungs bend? What you don't remember when Big Show vs Sabu was the flava of the month.....all he has to do is wave his hands and the contract/belt will be lowered down!
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 This is so choreographed and bad.
randomguy Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I do not see the appeal of CM Punk. Anyone else feel that way? His matches just seem really boring. I guess he's supposed to be working shoot-style or something? I mean this is just lame. He did a 3 bitch slap combo. I'm supposed to be impressed by 2 girlie slaps followed by a spinning girlie slap?
