On the last ECW on Sci Fi, Rob Van Dam got the break he’s been looking for as he was able to come out on top of Big Show to earn an ECW World Title shot. ECW.com has learned that RVD will challenge the Extreme Giant for his gold this week on Sci Fi. Will the World's Largest Athlete make good on his guarantee to Van Dam? How will Big Show react to being pinned last week by RVD? Can the most dominant athlete in ECW continue his destruction? Or will the massive Extremist come face-to-face with reality?

After CM Punk topped Rene Dupree for the second straight week, Mike Knox made an appearance. The jealous Extremist, however, backed off in his attack. CM Punk has had the edge so far in this rivalry, but Knox doesn’t appear to be ready to back off for good. How far will Knox’s jealousy take him?

I have to admit, I have no idea where they are going with some of this. Are they really going to just do Big Show vs. RVD for the title unannounced on TV? Can't see that.

 

You know, I almost think they might get the title off of Show by doing a 3 or 4 way where the other guys just gang him and hit all their finishers on him, then all pin him at once (echoes of Taz losing the title vs. Awesome and Tanaka).

Excellent, both guys are on my Fantasy roster. RVD winning would make for a better Cyber Sunday main event but I don't see it, especially since it would mean they would already have taped Big Show with the ECW title for SmackDown (unless he conveniently didn't have it for the tag match main event).

It's funny because lately, the ECW Preview is just as long as the RAW preview, only ECW is a one hour show.

 

I truly hope that once ECW goes to two hours, it will be like having another hour of matches packing the show, and not so they can space out wrestling matches with the kind of lame crap we see on Raw.

I do wonder how all this RVD/Big Show stuff is going to affect the demand for a PPV match. Only thing I can think of is that they won't ever have a clean finish until the PPV, banking on the fans pretty much "knowing" that RVD is taking the title in December.

I do not see the appeal of CM Punk. Anyone else feel that way? His matches just seem really boring. I guess he's supposed to be working shoot-style or something? I mean this is just lame. He did a 3 bitch slap combo. I'm supposed to be impressed by 2 girlie slaps followed by a spinning girlie slap?
