Well its not hard to figure out Joe Thomas is going to be the 1st O-Line man drafted and he will go in the Top 5 no question. I don't think he's going to flop though. Other guys to keep an eye on OL wise: OT Levi Brown out of Penn State (6'5", 328 lbs.), OT Joe Staley out of Central Michigan (6'5", 300 lbs.), OG Josh Beekman out of Boston College (6'1", 321 lbs.), OG Ben Grubbs out of Auburn (6'3", 318 lbs.), and C Doug Datish out of Ohio State (6'5", 295 lbs.) Gallery got mentioned because I said O-Line, much like Ryan Leaf is the gold standard for QB busts. Mike Williams position as the top WR bust is questionable considering Charlie Rogers was #2 overall, got constantly injured, and was suspended for substance abuse. If he had played in the CFL or been allowed to return to college, then he would be a better player than he is right now. It's hard to get away from the habit of not doing anything. Williams WOULD have been allowed to return to USC if he'd returned money he'd been given by his agent. He'd have also had to re-enroll at USC in the meantime for either part of the Spring semester or the Summer semester. These ideas were apparently non-starters, which is why USC moved on without him. Same for McNabb. I want to say Roethlisberger, but he has clearly shown this season that he's not one of them. Jake Delhomme is really close, and on second thought, maybe #5. Peyton Manning - He NEEDS to win a title to remove the label of postseason choke artist, although there's nothing wrong with being Dan Marino 2.0. 3. Carson Palmer - The best of the rest by a fairly large margin. 4. Drew Brees - No Gates, no LT, no problem. Still has a chance to set the single season mark for passing yards. He'll also probably be the runner up for MVP this year. On the Saints. No one would have believed you if you predicted that before the year started given that he was coming off of surgery. 5. Philip Rivers - This was more by process of elimination than anything else as McNabb doesn't strike me as a winner, while Rivers does. I don't rate Hasselbeck as highly as others do because he plays in a pressure free environment. Matt Hasselbeck 6. Drew Brees (needs a year or two more of good play for me) 7. Donovan McNabb (great when healthy but also has injury problems). 8. Brett Favre 9. David Carr (underperformer but look at his pass accuracy from 2004 - 2006. Only his lack of TDs hurts him). The guy has a 69.9% rate and 2,200 yards in 11 games this year. On pace for 3225 yards and 15 TD. His lack of weapons has hurt him a ton (Andre Johnson and who else? DD's been hurt all year) and oh yeah, only 7 INT. 10. Seriously, Bulger as the 3rd. RB's: McAllister, Gore, Steven Jackson WR's: Colston, Owens, Roy Williams, Torry Holt, Boldin.
