Guest Teckneek Report post Posted November 17, 2006 Now that Monty Brown signed a WWE contract, how should WWE introduce Monty brown once he debuts in WWE? What brand should he goto? Who should his first fued be with? I think they should do a series of vignettes building him up, maybe stanging in a football feild or something, and have all the general managers bid on him. I personally think he should be put on Smackdown and fued with Benoit. And they should build to a Monty Brown Bobby Lashley fued at WM23. What do you guys think? Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 The free agent storyline is overused and it wouldn't work. Monty is a really bad signing because he's a smaller version of Lashley and they spent too much time trying to build Lashley up. Lashley has shown more signs of being capable in the long run then Brown is. Brown has a record of selfishness and he doesn't know how to handle a full time schedule. He's going to go from 4-5 shows a month to 4-5 a week and he developed a prima donna attitude that won't adhere well. As for bringing him in, the best way is just the Brock Lesnar route. Storm in and destroy a ring full of jobbers. Lashley/Brown would be a horrible match for many reasons.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I'd be surprised if Brown lasts a year. With Brown being a decent talker and a sub-par worker, WWE will probably have him wrestle all the time and never cut a promo.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I agree that Brown won't stick around long because of that aforementioned ego that will easily get laughed at by WWE. If TNA wasn't concerned so much about Brown's involvment once Joe hit the scene and especially after Angle's arrival, why would WWE bother with a virtual no-name of a distant #2 promotion's attitude? They've fired bigger names without breaking a sweat. Brown will have to work hard to get comfortable and we all know Brown wants the easy way at all costs. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I wonder how long he'll wind up staying in WWE. Do you think they'll stick him in OVW or DSW?
luke-o 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 With Brown being a decent talker Since when? I'd imagine they'll put him on Smackdown to replace Lashely if he makes the jump to ECW. Or maybe he can go on RAW and fued with all the other midcarders in the IC title race.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 Monty Brown should be in a tag team until they figure out if he'll hold up or not.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 Wait a minute they are going to give him a serious push? I was thinking WWE was going to give him a humulating gimmick then release him 14 months later with the usual "WWE and Monty have parted ways we wish the best for him in the future"
Scroby 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 Put him on RAW or Smackdown and use him to help build the IC or the US title divison.
uhftv 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 the mvp gimmick wouldve been okay for him, considering how little you'd have to offer a tna guy to sign. and wwe just loves those insider gimmicks. that's why Rico and Simon Dean were/was so successful. as i usually state on moving talent, put him ecw or smackdown, where you dont get buried that much because the shows avoid Vince's radar. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 The obvious route is to bring up his footballing background, shove him on RAW (away from Lashley) and let JR hype him up. As for what the best route would be, they could tag him up with Shelton. Shelton could cover up for Monty's weaknesses and it'd give Shelton something more meaningful to do than 'IC Division Player #5'. Or Monty could play bodyguard for him for a while, limit his ring time. To be fair, Monty's only real redeeming quality is The Po(oooooooooo)unce. Just give him a role where he can hit that a lot and not do much else.

Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted November 17, 2006 Monty signed with WWE? Might be a good move. I could see him being a big star if used properly. Play up the NFL legitimacy. Let him do his crazy, unique promos which some people will go bananas for (some will hate, but we don't need this argument again). And he has the physique. But, yeah, TNA reject... we know what happens here.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 hopefully he's wearing something other than the jungle shorts...yikes! If used properly (yeah I know, big IF), he could be bigtime...he has the look, a lot of charisma and can work just well enough to get over with the crowd with high impact moves. I do find it funny that WWE is completely overlooking his prior wrestling experience...
Guest Diablo_Dor Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I was kinda watching ECW whilst trying to read the Times last night, so when Holly was attacked by Lashley for like a second I thought POOOOOOOOUNCE. Then I realised it was Lashley. I'd maybe debut him on Raw cos if you wanted to, he could be a face who has a past with Jeff, which is sorta true isn't it? My TNA memories are hazy. That would then give him Shelton against him in the race storyline who could hide his poor wrestling.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I guess if anything, this is intersting because this will be the first time a "TNA guy" has come to WWE, that I can think of. Sure, we've seen some guys like Sabu and Jeff Hardy come back to WWE after working TNA, but those guys already had established reputations. Monty Brown is only known in the wrestling world because of TNA.

cd213 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 WOW, this is great, the greatest homegrown TNA wrestler is going to WWE. I can't wait, this is going to be the greatest thing EVER!!! TNA is DEAD!!! They lost Monty "Pounce" Brown. What are they going to do to get over losing such a great wrestler, worker and talker?....How about not care. If you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic. Monty Brown is a joke. The only reason Vince went after Brown was because he was a homegrown talent. Monty Brown is a HORRIBLE wrestler, and his promos are worthless. I never cared about him from day one and didn't know why he got such a big push at times. TNA tried with him and he failed. That being said, what should WWE do with him. The easy thing would be to bury him and then Vince can say, "See, homegrown TNA wrestlers can't make it on the big stage" and then he can go back to not worrying about them. How SHOULD he be used. He's Goldberg 2006. The washed up football player turned bad wrestler with less talking abilities. I'd stick him on Raw with a manager. He can run through The Spirit Squad and run through the competition and go for the IC title. He will be built up like Goldberg in the way of being undefeated. Then comes Wrestlemania 23, IC Title Match, the undefeated Monty Brown (IC Champion) vs the undefeated Samoan Bulldozer...UUUUUUUUUUmaga. Brown loses in a cheap way and UUUUUUUmaga and Brown feud for the next 3-5 months with both winning and losing.

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 I thought Monty was falling out of favor in TNA because he didn't want to work their schedule due to his outside interests? If he didn't want to work TNA's schedule, how long is he going to want to work WWE's?

Toxxic 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 You mean Monty Brown HASN'T been working as the Boogeyman lately? Hell, African-American, right sort of size, half-decent charisma but nothing earthshaking, odd jerky way of walking and very limited wrestling abilities... ...THE BOOGEYMEN ARE COMING! (Good God, can you imagine a Brown/Boogeyman tag team? That'd be pure shit in a ring).

razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 They could have Ron Simmons be his mentor/manager I'm dying to see a workout montage with them at Florida State University practicing football tackles and doing 40 yard sprints. And the Spirit Squad would be on the sidelines cheering "WE WANT THE POOOOOOOOOOOOUNCE!" and Simmons response would be "DAMN, I didn't know there were a such thing as a gay frat house" Instant feud right there. Guest ian02840 Report post Posted November 17, 2006 he'll break the Masterlock...you heard it hear first... good one! thats actually a decent feud for him. both guys are juggernaut kick punch 80s style wrestlers with squash moves. itd be a nice way to see how well he works with a guy on his level, while at the same time getting him over with fans for shutting up a semi mega heel in Chris Masters. Monty Brown is only known in the wrestling world because of TNA. I'm guessing you like the rest of the world has forgotten Karzarian's cup of coffee in the WWE on Velocity? This all depends on what Vince thinks of him. If Vince hates him, Expect him to come out to the NAO theme and job out every night to HHH or HBK. If Vince likes him, They will probably do a football player like gimmick on Smackdown.
