Yeah, what does Jackie Chiles think of all this?

This is what happens when people try to copy Andy Kaufman without the funny eastern european character voice.

That's why Sasha Baron Cohen is safe.

Also Bob Barron, why are you defending Richards? I don't think he's an SNL alum. He was on Fridays.

Because Bob always takes the minority viewpoint.

Kramer was being heckled and was trying to fuck with everyone. Mel Gibson was driving drunk and speeding. Apples and oranges.

Because Norm Macdonald played him in a movie

His apology is probably the saddest moment ever. He's desperately trying to be sincere and the crowd is just laughing at him cause they think it's a comedy skit. It's wonderfully horrible.

Doesn't help that with his head shaved like that he looks like he's going out for a role in American History X II

I saw the apology last night and I at least respect that he spoke from his heart rather than simply reading a statement written by his publicist, no matter how awkward it made him look.

I can't believe anyone's defending him on this. There's shock humor and then there's screaming nigger at someone 18 times and walking off stage. Seems like the only way some pepole will label others racist is if they go out and actually lynch someone.

Obviously he thinks its outrageous and egregious. He may also think its preposterous.

Since when does lynching make someone racist? People probably just didn't get the joke

You know, I've seen lots of pictures from the 1950s and 1960s. I don't recall ever seeing lots of upside down black people with forks sticking out of their asses.

I think Kramer was lying.

In reguards to everyone that says hecklers are part of their job, fuck that. My friend does stand up and it's disrespectful to the person on stage. Once or twice is bad enough, but those assholes were going at Richards the entire show. I'd like to see him go to their job and rag on them the entire time and see if they don't flip out.

He went too far in the things he said (although some were pretty funny), but they got what was coming!

In reguards to Dane Cook, he's about as funny as getting root canal. He horrible and so unfunny. I thought his character was funny in Waiting, but everything after that sucked. When he was on Comic Relief on Saturday I had to turn him on mute he was so unfunny.

Yeah, I know I'm like a day late here, but Dane Cook is the funniest stand-up comic there is right now.

Why does this not surprise me AT ALL.

In reguards

Is that when you guard something once, and then guard it again?

Anyway, I think what we meant by "heckling is part of stand-up" is not that it's their job to make things hard for the comedian night after night, but rather every now and then, should these things happen, a good comedian is able to brush it off and turn the crowd against the heckler. Of course nobody should keep it up the whole time.

Most comedians have been socially awkward introverts and have relied on comedy to get any sort of attention, or an edge on others. Either they make genuinely funny comments, or attack society with some merit, thought or point.

Dane Cook? In his own words, “flipped that shit” (one of the many annoying phrases that he ushered into the trend following troglodytes that are currently dragging their knuckles across their self-inflicted misery scorned Starbucks cup). He decided that he had a great advantage with being a good looking guy, with the frat boy look that his demographic creams for or secretly wishes they could obtain. All he does he spew the same shit that is heard between classes and every street corner at every college campus out there. He throws in a grunt or two, over exaggerated facial expression and then flexes his muscles as he reiterates how often he gets laid. I’ll admit that he has said some things that I do agree with but it’s not like he created these things. They are mostly observations that every breathing person, at least in this country, has acknowledged.

His whole preening act basically consists of the aforementioned grunting, exaggerated facials and the retelling events that everyone has done/experienced. A comedian should be relevant, creative and socially biting. Dane Cook is just having AIM conversations on a stage.

Cook, is the comic equivalent of Fall Out Boy.
