The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I predict the Hardyz win by DQ. MNM interference and then DX comes back out to take out Orton/Edge Flair will show up That was bullshit...why spend the whole match saying "Flair hasn't left the building" and not have him come out? These writers piss me off.
Omar20003000 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 The sad thing is, they've set back Jeff hardy's singles push sticking him with his brother again.. Matt Hardy is probably thrilled to death to matter again though. Thrilled for the push, or thrilled for another chance to hit Edge?

Mecca 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 According to WWE.com, Candice Michelle suffered a serious nose injury during the Women's Battle Royal tonight on Raw. Near the end of the match, Victoria delivered a vicious kick to the face of Candice. WWE's Dr. Rios says Candice will see a specialist tomorrow for a consultation to determine if surgery is needed. TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 It had its moments. DX putting Spirit Squad in a bin, locking it, putting a sign saying 'OVW' and handing it to a UPS (spelled OPS) driver was classic..
The Niggardly King 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Vince just wanted to use "nigger" on his programming. You people still got a problem with Umaga? I love how WWE can simultaneously say "WE HATE RACISM!" while putting on their biggest minority stereotype at the same time. I don't care either way, but I have to wonder how much thought they put into that. Lawler's forced "I think that was great!" was funnier than the skit itself, though. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Certain members of this board are going to piss and moan at DX's antics, but say what you will, that was certainly damn funny. Count me in as one of them. Not just as a Spirit Squad mark (yeah, I know), but because it had everything but Vince Russo's signature on the bottom. Either shoots that 25% of the audience at most get are good or they're bad, simple as that. And that was bad. The same people laughing it up at that are the same people that'll bitch out TNA and Russo for running shoot segments and have been bitching forever about DX squashing the tag division. It's pure double standards. That and the crap with Cryme Tyme was enough to make me wonder why I bothered this week. Well, that and the fact you went from Flair in action to Jim Duggan in action to Jerry Lawler in action. I'm surprised they didn't wheel Moolah out for the Diva battle royal. The sole plus point was MNM reforming and even that had a 'for one night only' tag on it.

Si82 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I don't normally post in this thread but dear God was Raw awful this week. It tends to be shitty most weeks but this week was beyond terrible. I thought TNA was in a bad way with Russo booking but this show goes to prove that nobody does shitty non-entertainment like WWE. Why did DX have to send the Spirit Squad off to OVW and how many people watching are actually going to get the joke? This is the sort of crap Russo tries to pull with his "shoot" segments that 95% of the casual audience won't get. Why is Hacksaw Jim Duggan on a wrestling program in 2006? When will they let "DAMN" end? It was funny the first time but now they've ran it into the ground which is usual with WWE. If they accidentally come across something that gets over they either run it into the ground, like in this case, or they bury it. How is having a couple of stereotypes attacking a guy based on Michael Richards funny? And let's not forget building up the Hardy Boyz all show long only to have them lose because of a belt shot. Utter shit.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Yes, at the top of the program DX gaurenteed that you'd never see the Spirit Squad again, with the G word, you knew they were gone. Quite literally buried. Was awesome though.
Mecca 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Guys like Kenny who are were in the SS that have actual talent are probably thrilled about this now he can come back in a few months and not be thought of as some guy whos a cheerleader..... The only guys it really hurts are guys like Nick Mitchell who apparently sucks so much they won't even let him get in the ring....
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Yeah it's hard to feel sorry for the Spirit Squad too much. They are beyond any level of stale, and since I'm from Louisville I got a blast out of the OVW bit on the box. The talented guys in the group will come back from this (Doane, Jeter), while guys like Nemeth and Mitchell will get released. Not sure about Mike Mondo, maybe he can be a crazy little guy with a big tag partner like he was in OVW.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I've always liked Mikey...he's a good, goofy comedy type character...kind of like Crash Holly or Spike Dudley...they could use him in ECW or in the cruiserweight division on SD.
sluggo 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Bullshit, The Hardyz fought on Raw the day after Bad Blood '97, as the Jinx Brothers way before that, and in various singles matches on Raw in the mid 90's. I knew someone would call Lawler on that "first time ever in a WWE ring" comment, I just knew. They were the recieptents of the first Kane beatdown (not counting Taker) on the Pillman RAW. I was there. don't forget they were on Shotgun Saturday Night quite a bit.
Just John 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I only got to see the first hour since my VCR decided not to record after that point. Only worthwhile things were Candice getting her face kicked in and Mickie's reaction (Oh Jesus), and the burial of a lifetime given to the Spirit Squad. Now, while I admittedly laughed at the OVW bit, I can't in anyway condone that segment. Sure, it's funny to the smarks, but did you hear the silence it was met with in the arena? I'm pretty sure only like 20% of the audience got it. The whole thing reeked of another HHH ego-jerk like his comments towards Cena and Masters earlier this year. For someone who "hates the internet" like Hunter, he sure does try to appeal to net fans a lot with his smarky, business-exposing comments. Of course, when nothing else he does funny or interesting, I can see why he'd resort to saying shit like that.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I loved the "burial" last night. I've wanted them to do the same thing to Eugene for a LONG time. I think most WWE fans have an idea of what OVW is, honestly.

Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Nope. Other then Confidential, which no one ever saw anyways. They could have alluded to "the minors" at least but nope. OVW is only known by the 'net and the Ohio Valley area (obviously).
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I think the majority of WWE fans have internet access and are more educated than you guys give them credit for.
Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 I think the majority of WWE fans have internet access and are more educated than you guys give them credit for. No. They don't. Obviously they have internet access, despite the very low income average that WWE draws but to assume they are going around and looking things like OVW up, is a complete stretch. Most of the fanbase that watches WWE probably go to WWE.COM at the most (where they have covered OVW only a handful of times, most noteably, the Cappotelli promo). To quote HTQ quoting Meltzer, "It's not that significant"
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2006 Well, if nothing else, this gives Ken Doane a built-in feud when he returns in a few months. I can totally see DX doing their shenanigans in the ring when he and maybe one of the other guys come out of the crowd in normal street clothes and beat the shit out of DX as payback.
