How serious is Lymphoma cancer and what stage did they find it in? Does anybody know?

I believe it's pretty damn serious since it deals with the immune system. I don't know for sure, but I believe I've read that the survival rate for this type of cancer is far less than other kinds. It's not a death sentence, but it's a very hard fight.

That's the worst news I've heard all day. Good luck to Piper, hope he kick's cancer's ass.

To clarify, that's the five-year survival rate for anyone with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. It could be different for a white male of Piper's age.

Not to be the downer of the party but with the amount of drug and alcohol abuse he's put his body through it's gotta be way less then that.

I just recalled a recurring theme in his autobiography. "California, I'm Roddy Piper, and I'm going to kick your ass!" And "Portland, I'm Roddy Piper, and I'm going to kick your ass!"

The Hot Rod mark in me hopes he's saying "Lymphoma Cancer, I'm Roddy Piper, and I'm going to kick your ass!"

If he can get Hogan to do the J-O-B clean, he can kick cancer's ass. Just when cancer thinks it has all the answers, Piper's going to change the questions.

One of my friends died of non-hodgkins lymphoma in 2002. He was playing basketball two days after our high school graduation, and felt so weak he couldn't drive himself home.

He was taken to a hospital and they found the lymphoma. He was only 18 and it absolutely ravaged him. He died four months later. It was terrible to see what it was doing to him at the end. He was constantly throwing up and have seizure after seizure after seizure.

To be fair though, he had suffered from Crohn's Disease all his life, so it probably assisted in his quick demise.

I'm hoping they caught it early enough to where it won't cause Piper any severe problems. Cancer is a bitch.

How horrible is the timing for this though. He just recently returned to WWE once again, started an angle with Flair and the legends and the SS, won the tag titles with Ric Flair, and had his 3-disc DVD set be released.

I guess we know why he looked horrible his last few times out.

Right. The serious danger is that you have lymph nodes all throughout your body so lymphoma cancer can spread easier to other organs.

This is very sad news.
