TNA's VKM At Tonight's WWE House Show in Knoxville, TN

In a move that likely won't make World Wrestling Entertainment management too thrilled when they hear about it, TNA stars Kip and BG James, the Voodoo Kin Mafia, are currently outside tonight's WWE house show in Knoxville, TN playing up their current "war" storyline. The team is flanked by a camera crew, TNA writer Vince Russo, and a group of "fans" with TNA posters and signs.

 

Thus far, VKM have shot vignettes where they attempted to pick up tickets from the box office and complained about the $50 ticket price. They are also interviewing fans that are entering the show, asking them their thoughts on WWE and DX.

 

At this point, no security for the venue or World Wrestling Entertainment has attempted to prevent the TNA crew from continuing to film footage.

What exactly are they going for here? All they are doing is bringing added publicity to WWE. Hell if they buy tickets to the show, WWE could as easily claim "We're so good the competitors are coming to watch us" if they so desired. This cannot end well for TNA at all.

That cliche is almost never actually true, and it certainly isn't true here. It would be one thing if TNA sent down a big star or a top-notch worker who can actually brag about having some sort of special quality or talent. Instead, they sent down a couple of WWE rejects who the best thing they can do with is recreate an angle that was last able to be effective over eight years ago.

This show took place in Knoxville, which isn't that far from TNA's original home-base. With local promotion in that area, it's not like TNA is something those people are just finding out about.

 

How anyone can see this as anything BUT a desperate attempt at being edgy (yet failing miserably) befuddles me. If it was creative, such as Nash and Shelley involved, it'd be slightly better but here it's the two side kick bitches of DX walking around calling out Michael Hickenbottom and Paul Levesque in their horrible attempt to appeal to a market they already have gotten notice from.

A fair point; but don't you (as TNA) have to send somebody that the WWE fan would recognize? If they have no knowledge of TNA and who they are, what good does sending down Samoa Joe if only a handful of fans know him from any other Samoan-looking fan who may be in attendance?

 

Personally, I'd have sent Angle. WWE fans know Angle, he's a huge star, and if you go so far as to have Joe jump him outside the arena....you've got yourself some hype for Joe-Angle II among the WWE fans. Might not be much, but a buy's a buy.

This, actually, is quite good. Would have made a ton of sense (if they hadn't started the whole respect thing/ you protect me and I'll protect you) actually. That would have really amped up this rivalry, and possibly bring some WWE fans over....And i think Vince would have to respond in some way if Angle were involved.
