So apparently KMFDM is releasing a bunch of older albums remastered. I believe there are a couple out already and Angst is up next. (Or maybe was just released)

This would be a good time to try some KMFDM if you haven't. (I would probably start with Nihil) Or if you are familiar with KMFDM, you can help spread the love. I'm more of a metal guy than industrial/electronica/dance (whatever the fuck KMFDM is, I see them referred to as dance but IMO that is not really accurate at all) but I love me some KMFDM. For one thing I find it impossible not to smile at some of their lyrics.

Always dug KMFDM. Xtort is my favorite album of theirs. I'll definately be getting the remastered versions of Money, Nihl, and Symbols when those come out.

I've been meaning to seek them out. gary floyd, you say Xtort is their best album, but is it a good place to start?

I think the above mentioned Gibby Haynes collaboration is actually Ministry, not KMFDM, now that I think about it. My bad.

I would probably start with Nihil. Nihil, Angst and Xtort are pretty similar in sound but I think Nihil has the widest range of music on it. Some crazy kind of funny songs, some horns, some more industrial Ministry-style tracks, etc. It covers the gamut of the Angst Nihil Xtort er pretty well.

I'm looking forward to a remaster of Xtort. Nihil is mixed well but the volume levels on Xtort are low and the mix is very thin in general. I always have to turn my iPod up when it comes on.

Nihl and Angst are the best places to start.

Probably not. Fast dance beats, mixing, sampling, and catchy metal riffs.

Good band. They hang out at the bar I hang out at when they are back off tour. Jules is funny as shit, cause you can barely understand him.

Funny, I just picked up the latest EP "Ruck Zuck" this past weekend. I must have 30 various albums, extended singles, and EP's. I still have the Sucks T-shirt in a box somewhere. I saw them live several times at the Metro back when they were based in Chicago back in the Wax Trax/TVT days.

My only exposure to KMFDM came in the form of Beavis & Butthead, and that one song they did with Gibby Haynes.

I think your thinking of "Jesus Built My Hotrod" by Ministry w/ Gibby Haynes on lead vocals. Now thats another great album, "Psalm 69". You had "Hotrod", "Just One Fix", "NWO", etc, etc....
