MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 A better question would be what movies have you bought and only watched once? I hardly buy movies anymore for just that reason.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Ikiru is really really really really good. I don't really thing so. It;s really, really, really, really, really good. Absolutely mindblowing. One of the only movies to make me sob like a bitch, and thank the movie for it. Rumor has it DreamWorks is going to remake it. Tom Hanks is in discussions for the lead. Hollywood sucks. Too late. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Well, in that set the next five I'm gonna watch are The Lady Vanishes, Ikiru, 400 Blows, Wild Strawberries, and the Seventh Seal.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I have the "Colors" trilogy and haven't watched any of them. Whoever has Ong-Bak? There was a review of "the Protector" in a local mag that described it perfectly. Watch it like porn, one hand on the FF button. It's like 25 minutes of jaw-dropping fight scenes, and everything else sucks. But you weren't buying it for the plot, were you? That's exactly how I felt about Ong-Bak. 25 minutes of awesome fighting and the rest was cheesy subtitled bullshit. And he totally overused the flying knee. You really have to see both of those movies before they were sliced up for their american release. ESPECIALLY Tom yum goong (The Protector). THat shit was horrible in the American release. Bah and humbug. THAT was a great movie. THIS sounds like yet another in a bad series of Hollywoodized remakes.
Special K 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Oh, I think it could be remade properly. It's a very universal story. However, if it is remade, it'll probably be shit. It's such a small, intimate story, I really couldn't see it being done justice.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Since the picture I used in my last post was deleted, I posted a picture of the movie poster of Joe Versus The Volcano, a Tom Hanks movie with a similar plot as Ikiru.
-DeN- 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 OP: Twilight Samurai is really good. It's understated and won't stick with you for very long, but it's great while it does. The one movie I own, yet have never watched is Metropolis (the mega-uber deluxe edition or whatever it is). Just can't seem to find the stride.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 The Kino version? Yeah, I've only seen that one twice. Great movie, but not one to just sit down and watch all liesurely like.
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Mole, how exactly do you have a DVD of Smokin' Aces that you haven't watched yet? I downloaded it, burned it but haven't watched it yet. The quality isn't that great, so I'll watch it on a rainy day or something.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Unforgiven, Battle Royale and Night of the Living Dead are the only movies i can think of that i own but haven't gotten around to watching yet. Include TV series box sets and that list gets significantly longer though.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2007 Only one I can think of is Cemetery Man. Oh, I also haven't gotten past the first 10 minutes of Day of the Dead 2: Contagium, but that's because it's horrible. I just haven't had the time to sit down and watch Cemetery Man start to finish, and I don't wanna break it up, so it stands there in its plastic wrapper...Ruper Everet wants me to watch him kill zombies and fuck a dead chick... You actually bought Day of the Dead 2? The only movies I haven't watched yet are Side-Out and Underworld:Evolution. I cannot sit down and watch a C. Thomas Howell volleyball movie in peace I swear. And U:E is my fiancee's movie and I haven't really felt the urge to watch it yet. I should though, I enjoyed the first one and watching Kate Beckinsale in just her underwear seems like a good thing to do on a rainy day. And it is raining. Insanity 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2007 After Hours, Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Who's That Knocking At My Door (part of a 30 dollar Scorsese set along with Goodfellas and Mean Streets) Annie Hall Akira Batman (the old school one) Casablanca Riddick: Dark Fury (more or less to have the Pitch Black collection) Citizen Kane Final Fantasy: Advent Children (bought it at EBGames, watched it and can't finish it) Big mistake Hana-Bi Violent Cop Boiling Point (yes, I was on a Kitano rush) Happiness (I can't finish it) The Killer Maltese Falcon Sex, Lies, Videotape The Stray (Michael Madsen was on the cover...I had to buy it) The ones in bold were very cheap so I have a few good excuses. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2007 I also have 24 seasons 1-4, haven't seen 2-4. But that I actually have an excuse for. Me and my dad started watching season 1 together, and I assumed we were gonna go through the series, so I'd been waiting for him to have time to watch episodes. Eventually I got tired of waiting and watched season one, and I'll be going through the other seasons soon.
