It's looking more and more like Ottawa is going to have the second-best record in the East, yet be stuck with the fourth seed. I can't believe it only took the NBA a couple of years to realize the unfairness of this seeding system and make a good adjustment, and the NHL has had this for about a decade and done nothing. Insane. Confirmed. The Habs win over the Rangers is MONSTER, and to a lesser extent, the Devils over the Isles is also helpful. The teams in 9, 10, and 11 all have one game at hand on teams 6,7,8. They close against Boston, Washington and Philly, and they get the Islanders this week too. If they don't pick up at least seven points against that crowd, they don't deserve the top seed.
