Mik 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Who plays? I'm just wondering if I've ever run into anyone on the tables... I play on Full Tilt only, as they are the only client that supports Mac at the moment. I play at Mike Legend 24 (inside joke turned into poker name). I mainly play tournaments and SnGs w/ buyins between $24 and $150. I do ok but I'm not exactly on the verge of becoming a professional. Anybody else on FT? In Credible 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I played FTP for a little while but I dont like the blind structure in sngs and the variety of tourneys isnt there for me. I play on stars.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I also play on Stars mostly now. I'm just used to it there. I only play small SnG's now, like $4-$10 entries.
muzz 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I've played on FT a bit, but I'm on Pokerroom mostly. I recently started playing in my brothers home game, and the experience is great.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I used to play on Stars, but I quit last month. It just wasn't fun anymore. The fact that the UIGEA was keeping the American fish from getting their money onto the sites easily didn't help matters.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 AA_Punk on FT.
randomguy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 I mostly just play live now. I used to play on Stars a lot.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I'd love to play live, but the nearest room is over an hour away, and the nearest decent room is over three hours away. I wish the casino in town would spread poker, but it's not happening.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I only play free poker online and I haven't found a new site I like yet. Only time I play for money is live now.
Guest DogOn Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I also stick to the FTP games on Hollywood poker. If I ever do get into playing online for cash, it'd be in 50 cent rooms... I have no balls.
In Credible 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2007 I just built up my bankroll in the $5-10 sngs took about 3 months to go from $50 to $1000. It's not hard.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 triplejack.com free site. I wouldn't pay to play online, only way I risk real cash is in person. Figured it was time to bump
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Surprised I didn't mention this before. I love playing on stars, but there's a cardroom about 35 minutes where I live up in La Centre, WA. Four of them, actually. Some cute drunk girl was blatantly flirting with me last time I was up there, of course I was with my ex at the time. In retrospect I should've let her (ex) do her own thing and ditch her to hang out with the cute drunk girl. Anyways, Pokerstars is probably the most reputable of these sites and I like Full Tilt's tournaments and SnGs but I don't like how they don't have any uber-cheap tables like Stars does. How many tables do you guys play at once? I like to drink and do some other stuff while I play, so I'll only do a couple at most. I won a 3000 person tournament a few months ago, which was nice. But I haven't played in a bit. If you guys see me around, I'm vitaminx31.
muzz 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I use this name on FT. When I played more I liked to play at least 2 tournaments at once at least, but different games, like Hold'em for one and Omaha for the other. Cash tables I stick usually stick to one if I play them at all since they don't tend to agree with me. I prefer FT's software to Pokerstars which I why I never consistently played on PS. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I stopped playing when I realized I'm absolutely sick of playing online. I'd play live, but there's nowhere decent nearby.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I started at PS because of the cheap tables, then realized I like FT better, so I went over there for awhile. Right now I'm taking a break, but I'll be back soon.

Twisted Intestine 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 I only play for cash live, and play free rolls on pokerstars whenever I'm bored. I usually end up getting knocked out early when somebody pushed in with 8 10 off, and my bullets don't hold up.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 I'm on FT. I used to be on Stars, but when I saw three royal flushes in the same tournament, I deduced there was something wrong with their randomizer, and I am on FT exclusively now. I used to be on Doyle's Room but I can;t get the program to work right, and I used to play on Chanpoker before it went under. I'm on under this name, though I am currently taking a break. I was in the process of honing my game to where I would and could play for money.

Mik 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Oh, man... old thread. Last year I ended up getting pretty up there... I was playing SnGs on FTP at the highest levels at winning. I was usually in 4 $216-$335 at once...sometimes played the $560 Turbos as well. I completely lost the value of money. I routinely had over $2000 out on the tables at one time. It was bad news. Stories like this usually end up with someone broke but I ended up cashing out and self-banning myself up around $7000 (FTP: Mike Legend 24 on Sharkscope if you think I'm piling on bullshit). I was just spending waaaaaay too much time playing poker online. I gained like 30 pounds during this time because I never moved from my computer screen. I ended up hating myself. Online poker is bad for you, kids, even if you're good.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Jeez, I wish I could been on that level, but I just can't devote that much time to it. It says on SharkScope you didn't really hit your stride until around 750 games. How long did it take you before you starting winning that much?
Mik 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Well - I played a lot at the beginning without really knowing what I was doing. I started getting better at poker in general and ended up getting my profit back to about even. Then I won about $500 by cashing in an FTOPS event and got my bankroll to around $1000. I bought a subscription to pokerxfactor.com and ended up learning a ton of strategy there, including pretty much a master course in SnG strategy. I started using the strategy and winning at the $36 and $60 turbo level. Then I won $8000 by taking 2nd in a $216 MTT. This allowed me to move up levels big time in the SnG ranks. I was still winning a lot of money on the SnGs but not so much on the MTTs. I actually had people rail me in my games sometimes because people knew who I was. It was sort of nuts. Once you know proper SnG strategy they actually sort of play themselves.

BX 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 God help you all, I just deposited $25 to Pokerstars.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Yeah my ex used to play a SHITLOAD on Pokerstars. That girl has one of the worst gambling addictions I've ever seen, and she's destined to continue it because she refuses to believe she has a problem. I don't know how many times I'd have to deal with bullshit from her all night because "THIS FUCKING DONK RIVERED ME!" I let her use my account at first because I wasn't really playing; I had an account over on FullTilt that I was playing with from time to time the year before, but that's it. I liked Stars because they actually didn't charge a fee for depositing like the other guys did, and it worked with VISA for a while (using ePassporte). So if you look at my name you'll find several losing streaks on there, which was basically her gambling away our rent money. I then knocked her off mine and got her one of her own; she insisted on not getting one because she had some stalker or something before and I don't know she got kicked off PS for some reason, so she was paranoid that someone could "check our IPs and find out where we live" or some bullshit. I broke up with her and stopped playing poker (not really related to each other, but I was insanely broke from having to support her and the debt I got into because of her so I'm just getting back on my feet now) for a while. I'm probably going to deposit some money eventually, but it'll have to wait.
