The Sopranos

RIP Tim Daly.

Christopher going to turn or get killed first?

Another episode later and I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop but it looks like it's coming...

They've basically setup for a huge ending, but it's not really obvious what will go down with certain characters either. I think they'll manage to deliver on the hype.

I'm not really getting the impression that Tony is losing it, it's more like everybody else is losing it while he is the one that is overcoming his problems and looking at the bigger picture. Remember, Hesh was the one that suddenly went paranoid last week. And before that it was Paulie who was freaking out while Tony finally realized how pathetic he was. Now we see Chris going psycho and AJ apparently following in his father's footsteps and not for the better.

To echo on Coffin Surfer's thoughts:

Symbolism or Drunken 3 am ramblings, Tony's first glimpse into "The Biz" was somebody losing a thumb. AJ's first involved somebody losing a big toe.

Right, and the look on AJ's face while holding that kid down actually looked remarkably similar to the look Tony gets when he's doing the same thing.

I just caught up on the last few episodes. There's still a lot of filler crap that's been reminiscent of season five (by far the worst season) but it's not too bad thus far. I honestly don't know if there's any way they could end this that wouldn't be a huge disappointment to me. At the same time I know that all the characters' arcs have gone way past their peak, and the show needs to end soon.

Also, what's the deal with the slow-mo recently? Every episode since the return has featured one really weird slow-mo or stop action sequence. I'd understand it as a one-time thing or if they had been doing it before, but now it's like they're just doing it every episode. Weird.

Tony on the peyote was hilarious but I hope it doesn't lead to a "spiritual revolution" or something. Also Tony's reaction to Chris dying proves he can be a real cold hearted bastard (as we were led to believe he genuinely cared about Christopher)

At first I thought he was resetting his nose. But then once I realized he was, in effect, suffocating him on his own blood... jesus. Finally something happened, but damn, that came out of nowhere.

That girl in Vegas was smoking HOT.

Also, an episode or two ago Tony came down the stairs singing "Comfortably Numb" to himself, and now he and Chris are listening to that song just before the crash. Nice bit of foreshadowing there.

Not sure what to make of this one, weird stuff. I like how it was the tree branch through the babyseat that finally woke up Tony to the fact that Chris was a problem that should have been delt with a long time ago. The Vegas stuff gave me the impression that Tony was somehow trying on Chris' shoes in a better attempt to understand him, than there's all that odd heaven and hell religious imagery.... Did the bathroom light scene remind anyone else of Tony's apparent vision of Hell from last season?

I kind of think it is starting to get lame as hell that every remotely attractive chick in the show besides his own daughter, is so willing to fuck Tony Soprano....I understand that he is a mob boss and the ol saying goes that women are attracted to the power, but a lot of these women aren't even wrapped up in that life and would in real life probably think Tony Soprano was a fuckhead middle-aged bastard.

Somewhat, yes, although technically I think you're talking about the first part of this season.

Jesus, yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. It's getting kind of annoying. Tony's a fat fucking bastard with injuries to his face. How he STILL is getting young petite brunette pussy is beyond me.

He goes after the same type of chick. The ones who do drugs and get turned on by power and money. He is not going after models or chicks who belong to country clubs who is looking for stature in men. For christ sake, he fucked Cris's leftovers last episode. Usually he does chicks AT A STRIP CLUB. Its not brain surgery fellas.

And that girl was a stripper so I'm sure for the right price she was more than happy to go out on a "date" with Tony.

Well my cousin had told me she heard a rumor about an accident and Toyn killing Chris before the season so she was right.

This clearly reiterates the point that Tony is a bad man, even though he is so beloved by the fans of the show he is a bad guy and he does heartless things like this. Obviosuly he didn't plan for the accident, he just took advantage of the situation. The Cleaver mob boss character scared Tony as he started to think Chris was fantasizing about tonys downfall and wanted him dead. Plus going straight and family man type made him boring and a kiljoy to the boys.

Weird to see two deaths in one show, as Paulies mom was kinda no-sold here. and then everyone went to chris wake and no hers making Paulie mad, I still have a bad feeling about him as well. this is the end, they have to start killing off lots of people, it's what the fans expect. as for the girl in Vegas, remember she basically is a hooker, Chris used to pay her for sex and drugs.

Agree with C Dubya.

I think him pussying out telling his crew will come up later, too. This death wasn't just a swerve from what everyone was thinking was going to happen after he shot that guy the epi before. Yah, it was a great swerve, but I think this epi will be cited a lot before the show is over.

The last two episodes better be as good as that 60 second preview made it look.

Curb stomp!

I couldn't believe AJ actually jumped but he didn't die. Oh well.

"Maybe subconsiously he knew the rope was too long to keep him submerged."

"Or maybe he's a fucking idiot."

God that had me dying.

That was also about the best beatdown in the history of the show.

That was a great episode. They were building up these finale episodes sooooo slow and I actually see what they were doing. Everything over the past season is adding up to this and I am actually digging it now.
