Guess Burke really did hurt his leg. He was limping pretty hard it looked like.

And WTF...that seemed way, to simple. Next few weeks better have Punk doing 'questionable' things or something, before eventually turning on them.

Ummm, they cut off before they could do what I said earlier, have him turn on them after he "joins", then walk away as The Originals smile thinking he's with them.

Hopefully they'll do all of that next week.

RVD had to re-up. Only reasoning to even turn Punk. Even so, this is a horrible direction to take. NB already has a great star in the making with Burke who is a great promo. Punk isn't needed. This was a heel turn for the sake of a heel turn.

The crowd was so dead for the ending

They booed a little, but... yeah. The only way this can NOT be terrible booking is if they build up to Punk turning on the New Breed because dear god that was anticlimactic.

Interesting to see how this shakes out in the next few weeks. If this really is a CM Punk heel turn then you have got to think they could have pulled it off a bit more effectively. Good to see that the report about Monty Brown not doing the Pounce or anything else he did in TNA were false.

Just when the Originals had to get all happy things had to go and turn crappy.

Oh, for a second I thought they were going to Orton him once they put him on Thorne's shoulders. Punk was a little too goofy with the "NEW BREED! YEAH!" faces.

I love Punk as a heel, thats his best suit and I'm digging the chances of Punk breaking out some vintage sXe promos on Van Dam and Sandman. Punk/RVD will be good. I just thought the execution of the turn was poor.

Turning Punk heel without giving him the mic is ridiculous. Of course that might be the hook to tune in next week. I don't mind the heel turn, but they need to let him heel, otherwise he might turn the NB face. I do agree that it only gives more star power to the New Breed, and makes the Originals look more like suckers. Originals need some big name back-up if this is the way the lines are going to be drawn.

what a strange week so far:

-silly finish in the HBK/Orton match

-the crappiest segment ever between Raws top 4 stars

-another weak Raw main event featuring the ECW champ...was he even on tonight?

-the weirdest promo ever featuring an overexcited Burke and a stoned outta his gord RVD

-a silly, heatless heelturn from Punk.

gee...can't wait for Smackdown.

i like the Punk heel turn, only b/c it sets up RVD vs. Punk at ONS III. But A) There's not enough mike time for both Punk and Burke if they're in the same group, which is troubling as one of them (likely Burke) will regress and B) Fans won't boo Punk unless he goes hardcore "I'm CM Punk and I'm better than You" straight edge style, but I don't think WWE writers will let him take it that intense/extreme.

Talk about being anti-climatic the whole Orton/HBK double pin debacle, Snitsky blowing his load stalking the dancers, and now CM Punk joining the New Breed. Nothing but poor execution this week.
