Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2007 I'm gonna start watching these games. Not that I want to see losses, but
treble 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 lindy ruff is slowly yet SURELY inching closer to my most hated man in hockey. what a petulent child. screaming after winning. and being in the WRONG in regards to what he was arguing about. what a pathetic excuse for a professional. great role model for your kids. and why don't you throw some more shit in the stands at your own fans during your tirade, lindy. imagine being one of his kids? Just wait until Avery does something borderline dirty, his head might explode. And hey, first sellout of the year for the Devils.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Rangers won't get the chance. I'm sure the SF opponent will oblige, though. Since they're so frustrated.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Nice 1st period, Chris.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 We listened to the game in the car on the way back from a family function, picking it up with about 3 minutes left in the first. We'd just gotten back into Ottawa when Heatley scored the GTG, and we went berzerk. I'm hoping for a short OT, given that Ottawa will start on the power play. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 I had forgotten how draining OT can be when you're actually invested in the outcome. Ottawa hasn't played a 2OT game since Game 6 against Toronto in 2004.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Well, the Devils have a chance now. Not a good one, but no sweep at least.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 A split was all I was really looking for anyway. But Ottawa should have had this game; Brodeur absolutely stole it. Did anyone hear that the Brylin goal at the end of the first period shouldn't have counted? The timekeeper started the clock late, and there was an extra second played in the period, which, of course, made the difference.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 The clock started no later than usual. Man, you guys got a good game from Emery and still lost. Not lookin' good.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 The clock started no later than usual. The league office confirmed it. Man, you guys got a good game from Emery and still lost. Not lookin' good. You say that as if it's a rarity. I don't see how leaving New Jersey with home ice advantage is "not lookin' good," either.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Because you're going to lose. The Rangers were fixed to win this game by NBC. No worries.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 30 Rock! 30 Rock!
mike546 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 Because you're going to lose. The Rangers were fixed to win this game by NBC. No worries. The reffing has been so fucking one sided towards the Sabres in this game, I have no idea what your talking about.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 29, 2007 DANI BRIERE! DANI BRIERE! Now, get the game winner.
mike546 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2007 HUGE WIN. Great game by the Rangers. Should have been a regulation win, but I'll take it.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 CBC's showing game 7 of the Bruins/Canadiens series from '79 right now. The glass back then was REALLY low, it looks like it's maybe 2 feet high (if that) along the side, something I never really noticed before. It's also weird seeing most people in the stands wearing suits and ties. Oh yeah, I forgot that the whole team used to be able to go on the ice and celebrate a goal. I also love that there's no glass behind the benches and that there are open gates back there, too.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Such a classic game.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 A little junior hockey thread related. The Mississauga Ice Dogs are moving to the Niagara region for the next year, and will be called the Niagara Ice Dogs starting the 2007-2008 season.
Guest Richard McBeef Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I remember discussing that. Which city are they in? Niagara Falls, St. Catharines, or another? I think those were the only two with OHL-approved arenas. Good relocation, as this takes the St. Mike's Majors out of that embarrassing practice rink they used for home ice. "IceDogs" is a pathetic minor-league name, though. I'd have gone with the Falls or the Frontiers. Kinda like the Saska Tunes. In other minor matters, the Chicago Blackhawks have moved their AHL affiliation out of Norfolk and over to Rockford, where the IceHogs (another awful name!) will move up from the UHL. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Awww, I liked the Majors arena. It was cute.
treble 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Such a classic game. Watching it made me wish I had been older when I went to games at the Gardens and the Forum. I was only 5 when I went to MLG and really remember nothing, except that my dad told me I thought it was too loud and I wanted to leave early and waiting outside the player's entrance before the game and getting Dave Hannan's autograph. I still have the program from that game somewhere, Tom Fergus is on the cover! I was a little older when I went to the Forum. I went 3 times, total, but all I can really remember from there is not being able to see the scoreboard from our seats, so they had to put TV screens there with the scoreboard on them. Also, the time I saw the Leafs play there, I was about 10 rows behind the net and some guy a few rows behind us got hit in the head with a puck during the warm-up, so I was scared the whole game I was going to get hit. I also got Ron MacLean's autograph (which I lost right away) and he thought my name was Kim.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I remember the old Aud. What a piece of shit that was. And the rink had to be made significantly smaller because there was no room. How ghetto.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I loved the old Aud. It might have been a shithole but I liked the old hockey barn feel. I'd take it over the generic rinks built now a days like HSBC.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 This is a 1-0 game if I ever saw one.
Guest Queen Leelee Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Yawn. I really don't want to face the Devils. I don't know if my homerism overrides the boredum of NJ.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 It's not looking like you'll have to worry about it.
the max 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 We really enjoyed the game tonight, having no allegiance to either team. End to end action and without Brodeur, I think the Devils would have lost this at least 4-0.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Pretty good start for the Wings thus far. Hopefully they can keep it going it for the remainder of the game.

Red Baron 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2007 I remember the old Aud. What a piece of shit that was. And the rink had to be made significantly smaller because there was no room. How ghetto. The nose bleeds and the steepest seats known to mankind. Though my dad got tossed and thrown in jail overnite for being too rowdy.
