Kurt Angle Mark 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 ESPN will never learn The curse of the cut in continues Either that or getting a no-hitter is just really difficult. Nah it's ESPN Seriously this is like the fifth time ESPN cuts in to a guy pitching a no-hitter, and no matter what what inning it is someone gets a hit. MFer 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 You know, even if Lugo doesn't make that error, that doesn't automatically mean Schilling would've got the perfect game. People try to use this logic all the time in sports but odds are that logic would fail more often than not.
mike546 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Don't the Yanks still have Andy Phillips at Triple A? Why are they using Cairo at first when they can call up Phillips? He's even a better option than Phelps at this point.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Hey, remember when Pat Burrell used to kill the Mets? Gets lucky on what should've been a called strike 3, then takes Billy Wagner deep on the next pitch to tie the game at 3 in the 9th.
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Finally purchased an MLB TV subscription today and am currently watching Yanks-White Sox. White Sox just can't get any offense going to help out Contreras at all as we head into the bottom of the 7th. Only one runner in scoring position at all and that was with a Jim Thome double in the fourth inning. Yanks currently lead 1-0.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 This is only his 3rd start since he went on the DL early in the season though his 2 starts off the DL have been much worse than before he went on the DL.. Id take him back in the rotation now in a heartbeat in Burres' spot since Burres being in the rotation has screwed the bullpen up the most by robbing it of a long reliever. He's even a better option than Phelps at this point. I can't stand Phillips so I'm glad they are sticking with Phelps who at least has a bat but no glove. Phillips might have a decent glove sometimes but he makes errors on easy plays as well and well he has no bat at all.

Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Wow, what a collapse by the White Sox bullpen in the ninth inning to give up any chance to tieing up what was a 4-3 game. That top of the ninth took forever to play with Ryan Bukvich capping it off by coming in with the bases loaded and on his SECOND PITCH giving up a grand slam to A-Rod. Pretty funny to see all the Sox fans just get up in mass and start heading for the exit after that one. Bukvich then proceeded to give up two more runs on a Cano triple which scored Matsui (who was walked) and then Cano scored on a error by Uribe to first. I was just laughing at that last bit which gave the Yanks ten runs. What made it all the more ridiculous is that Mariano Rivera came in at the end of the eighth inning to get the second and third outs of the game so he got a SAVE out of a 10-3 game. Definitely one of the weirder games I've ever seen as the White Sox just could not get it together all night offensively, because even in the seventh inning when Konerko singled in Thome they stranded men on first and second with no outs, and even defensively with three errors. TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Actually it's a 1pm YES game. And they've been pimping the guy hard. They've already done two 'Roger Clemens nights' on YES when the Yanks were off. Though ESPN had their mitts all over the game he was supposed to start on Monday. Richard 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 This season has been ridiculous in terms of 5+ run comebacks in the 9th. The Padres came pretty close tonight. They were down 5-1 and scored 5 in the ninth to win. Only 1 out too.

vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Pfft. He shouldn't be suspended at all. It's not like he kicked Mark Wegner or anything. Yeah, he'll probably appeal it. I'm just glad it wasn't for more games; it looks like Berkman's starting to heat up a bit.
