What Would It Take You To Stop Watching WWE Programming

Recommended Posts

I haven't watched RAW in about 6 months and SmackDown! in about 8 months. I don't watch ECW either. I follow the shows by reading the results online. The only thing I watch is TNA and their PPV's. Once ROH starts their PPV's, I will watch them as well.

I've grown tired of Vince and everything he has done. I was always a bigger fan of WCW anyway and just followed WWF/E since I was a fan of the wrestlers. The shows bore me right now.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying I follow TNA over WWE but it makes me think of WCW meets ECW in a way. Plus I am a BIG fan of most of the guys, and gals on the roster. I am a little upset by a lot of the things going on in TNA right now, but I'll follow it until it's end.

I don't really watch anymore, because the things I dislike most about prowrestling are pretty much what is driving the product right now and until Vince finds himself with some real competition again, things won't change because the prowrestling fan youth will be brought up thinking WWE's style of doing everything is the way it is SUPPOSED to be.

I don't watch it anymore really, and haven't done for quite a while. I sometimes catch Heat or the highlight shows at the weekend, and every now and then I'll record one of the free PPVs if I remember, but mainly it just bores the shit out of me. I keep meaning to watch ECW to see Punk, but I don't even know where it's been shunted to on Sky's schedule now. That said from what I saw today it looks like they might be giving Matt Hardy a push, I might tune in more to follow that.

I watch TNA because despite all the shit that's going on in the main event, I get to see some of the better X-Division workers, and Joe. And the Christian Coalition amuse me immensely.

I stopped watching because of DX and Cena. The last nail n the coffin was the bastardization of ECW.

The swiftly approaching day when Snisky and Khali headline a ppv in separate matches.

The ppvs have been pretty atrocious after Backlash with the tribranded stuff

As for the tvs, both have been consistently bad after WM and the got worse after both shows decided to get rid of their worst workers using the DRAFT.

I think they keep fans longer by not watching consistently.

Right now I don't really watch WWE programming hardcore. If I'm home on Monday nights I may have RAW on in the background, or I'll just catch the results online. I'm never home Friday nights, so Smackdown is out for me....shame though because it is consistantly the better show. And if ECW has a really strong show I'll download it and skip to the good parts. I'll go the bar and watch a PPv if it looks decent, but I always make an effort to see the Rumble and Mania.

Maybe if they made RAW more watchable I would make more of an effort, but as of now, they have me as a casual fan and nothing more.

i really don't actively and attentively watch religiously like i used to in the late 90's early 2000's like i used to. i'll have it on in the background and read up on forums and news sites for news now honestly. i mainly just pay attention to ppvs now and ecw only cause of tommy dreamer. i'd like to stay in the loop just a little for when his wife calls me up on occasion to talk. :)

other than that, i don't think i'll actually stop cold turkey watching but my interest has really wained on it all

I'm the same way...it's background noise for me. If something interesting pops up, I'll take note. I haven't watched ECW in months. Smackdown, half the time I forget it's even on...which is sad because I was really into Smackdown late 2005 and most of 2006. I watch Raw out of habit anymore...hell, I've been watching wrestling on Monday nights for over 20 years!

The only time I stopped watching was 2004-05 when I had a gf. I really didn't feel like forcing her to watch, and I didn't really feel like I was missing anything. I was sort of burned out on wrestling. Taking a year off really get me more interested in it again.

There's really nothing WWE can do that I can think of that would make me stop watching. I love wrestling b/c of the absurdity, not in spite of it. I loved the McMahon death angle.

The current product has made me stop watching WWE programming. If it weren't for WWE 24/7 I wouldn't be watching wrestling at all. WWE 24/7 makes it very hard to watch the current product.

With the exception of a few shows here and there, I haven't watched consistently since 2002. Summerslam 2004 was about the time I finally called it quits for good. I think I've watched maybe 2 or 3 full shows since then but I still take a look at show results and peruse this folder to see what's going on.

I recently stopped watching RAW because Cena has been the same character for a long time now and that bores me, but the real reason is because I think Bobby Lashley is maybe the worst talker I've ever seen in the WWE to be given such a push. He really is awful. That night before the last pay-per-view with the 5 man was so so so bad. After hearing Cena, Orton, Foley, and Booker each cut passable to good promos and then have him come out there and sound like a 4th grade play... yeah I haven't watched since then.

I stopped watching regularly after Wrestlemania 18 and stopped completely in 2004. I guess I enjoyed the the 90s in wrestling so much and after that decade ended wrestling went a different direction. I did like 2000 and 2001 though.

If they brought back Hogan again and made him look like any sort of legitimate threat.

Better yet, if anyone else wins a championship belt in their first match again. I hate that shit.

The scariest thing about this thread is that if we're not careful, someone from WWE creative will read this thread, and take these as suggestions, and not gripes.

Cena being WWE Champion up to Wrestlemania 24 and then retaining the title there against whoever.

HHH becoming WWE Champion at Wrestlemania 24.

Cena / HHH II at WM XXIV.

I'm not watching. I feel guilty watching after the recent deaths, and in addition the product just sucks now. Smackdown getting gutted was the last straw quality-wise.

With a lot of the top guys hurt, and with the lack of real decent fueds, I'm watching the WWE product more out of habit then anything else. With the corrent booking, i really can't see them reeling in any new fans
