Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 Thank God BSG finally got some credit. James Callis got screwed out of a best supporting actor nomination. Glad to see Emerson nominated though.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I don't watch any TV Dramas, but I think every TV critic in America is going to storm the academy for not nominating Friday Night Lights. Very pleasantly surprised to see "Extras" love, with Gervais for actor, along with a writing nom and directing nom. And how about that comedy writing category? One for Extras, two for The Office, two for 30 Rock. Can't go wrong with that. Most excited for Jenna Fischer and Rainn Wilson, naturally. For variety show: especially after last night, it would be a CRIME for The Colbert Report to not win. Watch as Tony Bennett takes it.
Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I think Laurie will win best actor this time.
4hartthreat 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 If I could determine the outcome in one category, I would choose supporting actress in a comedy and the winner would be Perkins. She is SOOOOOOO perfect as Celia on Weeds. That show didn't get enough love from the emmys.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 Friday Night Lights getting snubbed really sucks, and I don't agree with the 30 Rock love. But Neil Patrick Harris and Jenna Fischer getting nominated is all kinds of awesome
Guest EvilAngelus Report post Posted July 19, 2007 Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series Entourage Kevin Dillon as Johnny Drama But come on, no Shield nominations ? This is bullshit 101. At least Walton Goggins should be on the list, he was pure gold last season.

starvenger 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I think someone might actually beat out Amazing Race for an Emmy this year. Rachel Griffiths will probably win Supporting Actress - Drama this year since everyone else is from Grey's or Sopranos. Surprised that Chris Meloni didn't get nominated this year for SVU as I think he turned in his best season yet, but it's a killer list of nominees. Speaking of killer list: Extras Ricky Gervais as Andy Millman Monk Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk The Office Steve Carell as Michael Scott 30 Rock Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy Two And A Half Men Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper Shalhoub is probably the favourite having won the Emmy three times (03, 05, 06) already but do the voters want to give him a threepeat? Sheen holds the fort for the traditional sitcom but is a dark horse. Baldwin was frankly, hilarious and Gervais and Carell were, well Gervais and Carell. I don't see Ricky winning though because I figure that some voters may not "get" Extras. Overall, no real issues with the nominees, except perhaps with the three Grey's actresses in supporting-drama. Seems like one too many.

luke-o 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I'm gutted at the small amount of Heroes nominations, but even more so that Earl has been snubbed. Fuck Ricky Gervais.
Atticus Chaos 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I think the sopranos has way too many writing nominations. Surely genisis, five years gone (heroes) or the brig (lost) were more deserving than the second coming or made in America? The only good thing is that they might cancel each other out and lost or BSG will win.

Copper Feel 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 I'm gutted at the small amount of Heroes nominations, but even more so that Earl has been snubbed. Fuck Ricky Gervais. I hope this statement is based entirely upon Extras (which I have not seen) rather than his work on The Office or his stand up.

milliondollarchamp 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 These were the worst emmy nominations ever. Boston Legal over Lost and FNL? James Spader over Michael C. Hall? What a joke.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2007 Why are concerts lumped together with variety/talk shows? I'm sure Mr. Tony Bennett had a great performance on PBS or whatever channel he was on but Craig Fergereson was robbed! And why do they nominate the Academy awards every year in this category? AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2007 Nice to see some non-technical love for Battlestar Galactica. Assuming it hasn't improved dramatically over the past 3 years, it still pains me to see Two and a Half Men get so many nods.

Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2007 I think they submitted the musical episode for consideration though, which is a love-it-or-hate-it. If they had sent one of the later episodes, either the Nurse Roberts ones or The Convention episode, they might've gotten the nod. And this means John C. McGinley has one more season to get at least a freakin' NOMINATION. Come on, talk about snubs.
