USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Maybe you guys just suck because I am not having the problems you are. And I have been launching it down field in 3 and long situations to Randy Moss. 90% of the time, he is going to catch the ball. Suck? Again, since it seems to be not getting through- I've been winning yet these problems still ruin the game. I don't want to score all my points on INT/fumble returns because I never get a chance to play on offense. I don't want the other team to have double digit turnovers. That's not NFL football. Play Superstar then. You won't play defense if you're on offense or vice versa. Win-win. I never experienced this turnovers problem in Superstar (only got picked off once and my offense fumbled maybe thrice in 5 games).

Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Playing the PC game I haven't noticed any extreme in these problems what so ever, so far. However, have any of you tried adjusting the settings in the option sliders?
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 the AI is defintely messed up, I starte dplaying at Pro difficulty, and it was way too hard for that setting, but if you switch to easy, then it gets way too easy and I scored like 76, then 56 points with 5 ints in each game. plus on ps2. there is tons of slowdown in the game. hell the arena football video game is better than this crap. im going back to 2k5
Craig Th 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 How many games did you play in Pro? Just play a few and lose, then you'll get the hang of it. The game seems a bit different, so it takes a little bit. Whatever, I fuckin love it. I'm a huge fan of the player icon things.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 Aye, so far I've enjoyed the PC version. I'm sure if you tweeked the sliders, you'd find a setting that would be at the right balance. I find this site: http://football-freaks.com/forums/index.php?showforum=252 helpful for most things Madden (PC related), though you can copy some of the slider settings over. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 I found a bug in Superstar mode. Apparently if you move Daunte Culpepper to Oakland and Trent Green to Miami or make any other roster moves, then save the roster, and enter Superstar (as a quarterback), your superstar would enter his rookie season with nearly 30,000 passing yards to his credit. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 If it is, it's an unwanted one. I want to get all the yards legitimately. Plus you get 101 interceptions to go with it and 150 TDs.
migoli 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2007 I've played about 7 or so games and the very first play i ran LT fumbled and went on the fumble a total of 3 times. That blew my damn mind but since that game i havent noticed this game as ANY different than any other madden game. For example DBs making over the shoulder picks without looking, DBs dropping INTs that literally hit them in the numbers. But i personally think you are just looking for things wrong with it if you say this is any worse than '07.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 I keep playing against my brother in All Pro mode and it is ridiculous. Over half the TDs during our 3 games have been INTs. Heaven forbid one of us can muster up a decent drive and score a TD like a normal team. W/ 2:00 to go, I actually punted on 1st and 10 down 7-3 because I felt I had a better chance to pick one off and score a TD rather than score one on offense. migoli 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 I think you all just like to throw into double/triple coverage because i just played 2 game before i wrote this and not one of my 41 point came on defense and the guy i played didnt either. You cant throw into coverage and be like "ah god damn they just keep picking it off! I can figure out why!!"
Scroby 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 Is there no way to change whose on the field and whose not on the field? I wanted to bring Jordan out and bring in Fargas (Raiders) during the game but I couldn't find the area to sub players. I even looked after the game was over to see if I could just make it so Fargas could start instead of Jordan, but I didn't see that anywhere either. Don't tell me they took that aspect out. This is in Franchise mode by the way.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 Seriously, you guys are just throwing into coverage and using the truck stick too much. If I don't have the room or there is more than one defender there, i am going down. Spinning, jumping, juking, all up the chances for you to fumble. And I threw one pick in 9 games this weekend against mostly computer and some against the friend who's 360 I borrowed. On All-pro level. If you don't have the advantage on a DB, throwing at him will probably lead to a pick. Thats not a game flaw, thats your fault. Not saying the game is perfect. Its more difficult than before and closer to a sim. You start trying to do all that extra shit on every single play, you are going to fumble alot.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 R1 button is your friend. Not sure what button it is for 360 but should be the same to cover the ball.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2007 That'd be the Rb button, or the "Right Bumper" button
Ripper 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 And the funny thing about it is that it stops you from fumbling. The truck stick really isn't your friend in this game, or should only be use every so often.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2007 Yeah I'm not seeing these turnovers that people are complaining about. I threw one pick in a full season. The trick? Throwing to the WIDE OPEN GUY!

For the third time- I'm not complaining about turning over the ball myself. I'm complaining because the other team turns the ball over a dozen times per game. That should not happen on All-Pro. I don't even know why people play Franchise these days with Superstar available. That's just my two cents on the matter. Because Superstar sucks. To each his own, and I know it's only a matter of opinion, but IMO, superstar mode just isn't fun. (That is, if 08 is like 07 seeing as I haven't played 08 yet) It's not fun not being able to control the team. And if the team doesn't want to involve you in any of the plays, well you're screwed. (For example, I was a WR my first superstar mode, and the fuckers would always throw to the left side of the field no matter what, even when I was wide open on the other...) When I was RB the team seemed to mostly pick passing plays, or horrible plays that would pretty much make me run into the heavy covered side of the field. And as a QB I hated the camera angle. Just didn't feel the same. All in all, the fact that anyone would forego franchise to play Superstar is baffling to me.

Anyhow before I cnaged it I forgot I had saved the setting apparntlyt on easy mode (realized halfway in but didnt want to lose my madden challange points so I continued ) and wound up with a game in which I scored 136 points! NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Has there always been a big difference in the "feel" of Madden between Playstation and Xbox? This is the first Madden I have played on Xbox360 and it just feels like a very different game to me. I am not sure if it is because '08 is different, or if it is because Madden has always played different between the two consoles.

If you're not interested in building a player's career up from rookie to retirement, using realistic circumstances (ie: going along with the coach's playcalling), then yeah Superstar is not for you. However, since I AM interested in that, I find it better than just playing Franchise and making silly trades and then patting myself on the back when I build a winner all too easily. However, since I AM interested in that, I find it better than just playing Franchise and making silly trades and then patting myself on the back when I build a winner all too easily. I hate when people bring up realism with Madden. Madden doesn't have a realistic tackling system (I like those diving tackles when it looks like the ballcarrier bounces off an invisible wall), realistic physics (punts can land in the endzone and then bounce back to the 15 yard line!), or a realistic passing game. It's a fun game, but it's more arcade than sim. Besides, what's realistic about the player progression in Superstar? I had a 70 overall QB. By the end of his rookie season, he was a 95 or something ridiculous. I think Madden should incorporate a progression system that has a much slower rate of increase...even a great rookie QB is still going to be garbage compared to Manning or Brady. What position are you playing in Superstar? Playing as a linebacker or safety might be fun.
