LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 Found this on Rajah.com: Several comic book news websites are reporting that WWE superstar Triple H being considered for the lead role in upcoming "Thor" movie. The Marvel Comics superhero is based on the mythological god of thunder and war. Unfortunately for Triple H, there is one major obstacle in his way. Director Matthew Vaughn is not happy that a pro wrestler is being considered for the lead role in his biggest project to date. He addressed the rumor of Triple H's involvement in a recent interview. "I'll give you two reasons I dont put much stock in the otherwise very interesting rumor - "Chris" and "Benoit". With wrestling taking its biggest PR hit ever, I would be incredibly surprised if Marvel were to take that big of a risk with Thor." The Thor character is a comic book superhero and the mythological god of thunder and war. The movie is scheduled for a 2009 release. It is being produced by Marvel Entertainment and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. I checked Superherohype.com which is where I rely on for most of my comic movie news and have not seen this. I did find something on Comics2Film.com when trying to research it, but I don't really know that sorce. It could just be a rumor, but if that quote from the rumor is true, that is a dick move by the director. I don't know if I'd want a wrestler as a lead in a movie either for a few reasons, but saying you don't want to cast him because of Chris Benoit is silly. Especially when the movie won't be in theaters until a year or two after the incident occurred.
Guest Vitamin X Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Haha, Chris Benoit is holding down HHH from the afterlife.
Robert Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Source: Moviehole.net Kevin McKidd, fresh from the TV series Rome, is rumoured to have snag the lead role in Thor, Matthew Vaughn’s film take on the classic Marvel comic, according to IESB.net. If true, McKidd will be the second cast member from Rome to have scored a superhero gig in recent weeks – co-star Ray Stevenson was recently sworn in as the new Punisher. Whatcha think? is this guy the Thunder God? The guy is a better actor the 'H, and the guy with him is Ray Stevenson, the future Frank Castle.
BlackFlagg Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Thor is a Homo. All I can say to that is... Get out of my house!
In Credible Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Thor is a Homo. All I can say to that is... Get out of my house! We also would have accepted "Thor is not a homo!"
Red Baron Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 As much as I am glad to see a Thor movie, I still want a Captain America movie.
starvenger Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 One that doesn't star Matt Salinger, I take it.
theintensifier Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Thor is pretty queer. Captain America needs to be done, so does a stand alone Wolverine and Deathstroke the Terminator.
theintensifier Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Before anyone says "there is already a Wolverine movie being made" let me say: It needs to be done right.
luke-o Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Deadpool needs a movie. And Daredevil needs a good one done.
Lil' Bitch Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 But I thought Daredevil was good! Then again, that was after I had seen it in its true form with the Director's Cut. There is a Captain America movie in the works set to be released in 2009. Rumor has it Paul Walker will be Cap though... I'll take HHH as Thor. Better than him being Conan.
Black Lushus Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 wait...Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle? SOLD! Kevin McKidd? Sure, as Donald Blake, I'll buy that, but as Thor himself? I just don't know....McKidd's not exactly a big dude.
Brett Favre Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Deadpool needs a movie. Hell yeah. Who should play Deadpool?
razazteca Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 They have to get Clancy Brown to play a Viking villain the man already knows how to speak Icelandic! vs Who doesn't want to see HHH vs Low ki!
Ripper Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 It could just be a rumor, but if that quote from the rumor is true, that is a dick move by the director. Especially when the movie won't be in theaters until a year or two after the incident occurred. Thats not silly or a dick move. Pro wrestling is NEVER going to be looked at the same by the general population. Before it was just seen as silly fake stuff. Now it is seen as that place where roided up murderers are.
The Flamboyance Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Deathstroke the Terminator. hells yes
The Buzz Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 Damn I was hoping Thomas Jane was returning as Punisher. I hate when they recast the lead in a sequel.
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted August 16, 2007 Author Report Posted August 16, 2007 Damn I was hoping Thomas Jane was returning as Punisher. I hate when they recast the lead in a sequel. I am pretty sure the issue with that was Jane thought the script for the second wasn't true to the character and rather than fixing it, they let him leave and took someone else.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 Thor is a Homo. "You been spreading rumors about me, kid?"
luke-o Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 But I thought Daredevil was good! Then again, that was after I had seen it in its true form with the Director's Cut. Even though the Directors Cut was an improvment (it had a plot for example), there are still things about it that bug me.
cd213 Posted August 17, 2007 Report Posted August 17, 2007 I'd like to see Sandman get a comic, I mean it was the first graphic novel to reach number 1 on the NY Times best seller list!
