NFL Week 1 Paneled Basement Party & Chat

The Bears will be fine. They made tons of mistakes on offense and played well below their potential and still hung in there with the team with the best record in the league last year. They're still a ten win team at worst, and considering the weakness of the NFC, they should do much better than that.

Other than his fumble, I didn't see where Rex played horrible at all. He wasn't great but he was ok. Again it came down to the Bears not having any confidence in him late in the game. If the Bears coaching staff doesn't trust him enough to put the game in his hands late then he doesn't need to be the quarterback anymore. And from the two stupid running plays they called and all the play calling in the fourth quarter, it's obvious they don't have the confidence in him.

His interception wasn't his fault. You can't blame the quarterback when the receiver just gives up on the play, doesn't even check to see if the ball is coming his way and just killing his team's momentum by not even caring enough to try and get involved in the play. Every time the Bears offense got moving, they would either fumble the ball or go so conservative that it didn't appear they wanted to win.

Detroit manned up for once...gave up a 17-point lead on the road and came back to win (yeah it was against the Raiders but the Lions usually blow these games no matter the opponent). Calvin Johnson looked pretty good out there.

Well the Redskins win on opening day in a game that could have gone either way. I think this has been the case the last five or so years.

I love how Romo fumbles a snap, and suddenly the league has to change the rules about the ball substituting, as if Romo is the first person to ever handle a slick ball.....

Why exactly did they retain Tom Coughlin again? With Tiki retiring and Eli struggling but still salvagable it was the perfect time for new blood. They're pretty much guaranteed to be mediocre again this year.

Dallas' defense is overrated. Yes I know there is no Terrence Newman in there tonight, but Dallas' D-line is not getting much pressure without the help of blitzing LBers, and even then not much, and the Cowboys ability to cover the deep zone of the field is not very good.

What the hell is Coughlin supposed to do? I hate him as much as anyone but this defense is fucking horrific. No coach could change that.

Even with the Giants probably losing tonight, at least earlier they were keeping it respectable enough for the media to pipe down about OMG!!COWBOYS2007SBCHAMPS!!THEY:heart:WADEPHILLIPS-ROMO-MANIA!!! for a week or so. Now the Giants need to punch in this TD and maybe throw another FG up to keep the media quiet......Damn though the Giants can't cover the middle of the field.

Prepare for ESPN to fellate on Tony Romo for the next week.

Well that will be the least of it, who wants to make a bet that they ignore the fact that their defense gave up over 400 yards of offense to the NY Giants and once the NFL Week 2 preview shows kick up around Thursday, Dallas will still be called a "Top Defense"

LaDainian Tomlinson! FUCK YEAH!

He only had like 80 yards today, and -1 at the end of the first half, you know.

Don't worry Eagles and Skins fans you get to face the Cowboys and Giants defenses 2 more times each.

That was like a 1980s Jets/Dolphins game.

So the Giants probably lose their starting RB and Pro Bowl Defensive end for the year and their starting QB gets hurt (and the back ups are laughable, Jared Larenzen, Tim Hasselback and Anthony Wright!!!). Only the Giants. Only the Giants

Of course but how many teams have lost their starting safety for the year (Demps), starting CB for significant time (I know it's only Sam Madison), starting RB , All Pro D end and potentially their starting QB by Sept. 10

When they need to start hyping up the release of Aliens vs. Predator 2 then I hope they do so by showing half the Patriots locker room. We've cornered the market on top of the line african players with dreadlocks that look like Predators in their unis. As Slayer said on the phone after I made that comment "All you're missing is Al Harris", and its true.
