Enigma 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 From Dave Meltzer and the WON: Paul Heyman has quietly parted ways with WWE. He currently has no affiliation with WWE. He's free to go to TNA, but TNA hasn't expressed any serious interest in his services. I think this would be a good time to talk about how WWE completely wasted 6+ years they had with this guy. Not true. They got about 6 good months on Smackdown, a few good promos, and a really good OVW stint. Yeah, the rest was a waste. Thank you, Stephanie. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 There's not enough talent under WWE contract to make ONE show interesting, much less three.

ROH, outside of a S.S.S and maybe a live promo doesn't have a need for him. Who would back him anyways if he wanted to start up again?

I'm serious, over the top MTV wrestling promotion and Heyman? Would have watched every episode.
Chalmation 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 There's not enough talent under WWE contract to make ONE show interesting, much less three. there's the talent, they have to use it right they can't overact, they have to be realistic, and they need to take the wraps off certain guys then you'd see some truly awesome wrestling
Australian Pride 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 I'm not surprised TNA have no interest in him. They probably have enough backstage tension whenever Russo and Cornette are around each other, imagine if they added Heyman to the mix. Still, love to be a fly on the wall if they ever did. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 If you're TNA why not just get rid of Cornette and Russo and bring in Heyman? It's not like Russo's booking has been worth a damn, and Cornette has been about as horrid of a GM figure as can be imagined.

Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 Paul Heyman hasn't really booked anything interesting in a decade. If you're thinking he's going to save the business by going to TNA or starting a new promotion, well, I think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 TNA is doing well enough to get a second hour, I don't think they'll make a move for Heyman any time soon. However the only homegrown star they've made is Abyss and Joe and to a lesser extent AJ Styles - that's it. And Joe could have been so much bigger if handled properly. LAX was well on it's way before Konnan left the company. The X-Division is an afterthought. It's All Angle all the time, with generous heapings of Sting, and Christian thrown in. I think Heyman is likely done with pro-wrestling. His WWECW booking was nothing to write home about, but you don't know how much creative freedom/control he really had. Maybe if Russo gets burnt out again and wants out - I mean Cornette would be fired in an instant if that's all that was needed to bring Heyman in. What does Kurt Angle think of Paul E. that is a key question when considering the Heyman to TNA possibility. Dixie Carter basically does what Angle requests. I don't think Heyman likes the six-sided ring - he thinks it a gimmick and different just for the sake of being different.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2007 Heyman's OVW booking was pretty good stuff, so that is at least something decent he's done in the past decade. That and maybe his SD work circa 2002-03, and the show tailed off once he was removed from the booking. If Russo has one possible edge over Heyman it is that he has at least at one point figured out how to book for the masses. Heyman books more of a niche product and I'm not sure that's what TNA wants to be.
