RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 From Observer site - I dont get how they have these up this quickly, but it sounds like legit. Chris Sabin NC Alex Shelley when Team 3-D interfered Awesome Kong b Talia Madison Robert Roode & James Storm b Chris Harris & Rhino - Harris & Rhino had a post-match staredown Kaz b Lance Hoyt Abyss b Glen Gilberti - Black Reign and Jim Mitchell attacked Abyss and Reign put the rat on him. Nobody cared Christian Cage b Samoa Joe to get into the title tournament (assumed spot to fill from the Sabin/Shelley NC) when Styles, Tomko and Roode all interfered, and Roode clocked Joe with a chair. What's the point of having Joe end Christian's win streak if you're only going to reverse it and make it meaningless Sting v. Angle rematch announced for the taping tomorrow ----------- Assuming these are legit, a few random thoughts.... I can see why they put Christian over Joe (to put heat back on Christian) but this kind of parity booking doesn't really help anyone. Christian could have got a rub via other means, and Joe gets put back down a pedestal. Gilberti being brought back is rather odd to say the least. They are parlaying Black Reign v. Abyss until Mesias returns, apparently. Roode v. Joe appears to be a match they may work for the next ppv, which sounds horribly underwhelming on paper. Guest Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Considering how bad the spoilers have been lately, I won't judge them. Every single spoiler list for the last few weeks has made the show sound like shit, and it hasn't come off that way on TV.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Wow, rematches of the top two ppv matches the next two weeks on TV. That's gotta make people who brought the PPV feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm guessing they wanted Christian to be Sting's first challenger to hold off on Sting-Joe, and this is how they wanted to get around the whole Joe making Christian his bitch last night thing. Nate 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Geez I swear with TNA they always take a step forward then 3 steps back, I think what will kill TNA in the end is the polictical BS, I just dont see why you have Joe win clean over Christian only to lose the match a day later, its like when Lethal beat Angle then lost to Daniels, it makes sense to a point but it seriously buries those guys
Canadian Brandon 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 It will probably come off well on tv. I'm excited about TNA again for the first time in a year. I really would like to see a Sting vs. Xian match for the title. Did they ever get a proper blow off to their "feud" last year? If I remember correctly Xian turned on Sting and then immediately went into a feud with Rhyno.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Hell they might throw the belt right back onto Angle.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Going right back to Angle makes no sense. I'm assuming Christian will win that tourney since it kinda has NO ONE in it that people take seriously. Christian/Angle makes zero sense as a match, but Sting/Christian certainly does.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 At least it looks like they're going to hype the rematch for a week. I don't think they've done a straight up Sting/Christian match, though they've been involved with each other before. I could see them playing up their background for a month or two feud if they intend to keep the belt on Sting.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 I kinda like that Christian was able to slither into the title picture at the first opportunity... Giving Joe/Christian on TV is fine with me since they've already had 3 ppv matches. I also like that (from reading the set from the Observer site) Matt Morgan got rid of Styles and Tomko...but Christian had a back up plan tonight. It's what I like about Christians character. He always wins...but he never REALLY wins...then he brags about winning. He's the perfect first contender to Sting since he's sleazy enough to buy as able to beat him. Also...I'll bet dollars to pesos that Sting Angle next week is just a short match, big angle anyway. ... Viva la Kong!
pgi86 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Here`s a more detailed report: iMPACT TWO HOUR TAPINGS: WEEK 3 SPOILERS By David Tuthill -As I was getting into the building there was an in-ring segment where Kurt Angle demanded a rematch for the world title tonight, but had been laid out by Kevin Nash. Not sure how they got to that point, but it's definitely sold like Angle is messed up. -Chris Sabin v. Alex Shelley ended in a DQ when Team 3D jumped both of them and powerbombed them through two separate tables. The crowd was as rabid as any TNA crowd I've ever seen for this match. We should've known it was too good to be true. -Backstage in Cornette's office, Christian came in and demanded to get the last spot in the #1 Contender tournament. He had a ladder with him and was talking about wanting a ladder match. Joe came in and they argued about it. -Amazing Kong d. Talia Madison. Short and quick. Kong is probably the best thing in TNA right now. -Bobby Roode & James Storm w/ Jackie & Traci d. Chris Harris & Rhino. Same old stuff here between Roode and Traci. The best part about this match was the OBVIOUS plant (I found out it was SHIMMER/ROH/FIP's Rain) directly in the front row of the pit right in the middle of every hardcam shot. She had a gigantic "President of Bobby Roode Fanclub" sign. It was clear that she was a plant because no pro wrestling fans look that good, turkey talk. She was going crazy for Roode whenever he would do anything, and also was very into when Penzer would try to get the crowd hot by promising the loudest fans a trip backstage. It was just really funny. After the match, Harris and Rhino had a staredown. -Jim Cornette and Mike Tenay come out and host a "Parade of Champions", introducing the guys who won belts last night. Cage tags along with Styles & Tomko so Cornette orders him vs. Joe as this week's main event, with the winner getting the last spot in the "Fight for the Right". Sting comes out and is presented with his belt and accepts Angle's earlier challenge. Angle comes out in a wheelchair with two security guards and Karen and reschedules the rematch for "next week." Sting says to bring the chair because he's going to cripple Angle for sure. -Kaz d. Lance Hoyt w/ Jimmy Rave & Christy Hemme. Hoyt made Hemme do the old Embassy Woman thing where she got on all fours while Rave got into to the ring off her back. Hemme was upset, but Hoyt kissed her and she calmed down. Weird. Interference from the two of them backfired and Kaz won. They all argued after the match. Why do relationships in TNA never work out? -Abyss d. Disco Inferno (he was billed as that). Old WCW fans (and fans of Sports Entertainment Xtreme) were stoked to have Disco back. He was squashed in a minute. Black Reign ran out and he and Abyss started brawling, with Abyss gaining the edge until Jim Mitchell came down. They handcuffed Abyss to the ropes, stuck the rat in some back and put it over his face. This died horribly as none of this stuff is over or entertaining at all, even in the heel way. Two hours was supposed to refine the product and make it catch on as a cool wrestling alternative, not give them the chance to have all of this bull#@^%$#. -Christian Cage d. Samoa Joe to get the last spot in the tournament. Good, long match. Usual ref bump spot. Styles and Tomko ran out to interfere, but Matt Morgan chased them off. That allowed Bobby Roode to come back (Rain sure was happy) to nail Joe with a chair to allow Cage to get the pin. Great match before the run-ins. Taped for Xplosion: LAX, Eric Young, and Shark Boy d. XXX (Senshi and Skipper) and VKM. Quick match. Finish was Skipper on Hernandez's shoulders and Homicide coming off with an Ace Crusher, which Skipper took right on his head. I don't know why he wants to die so badly, but he sure does bump like a million bucks. credit: f4wonline.com
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Maybe it's just because I want to see the MCMGs on my TV, but I'm really happy they're moving forward with a feud between them and the Dudleys. A) It makes sense that the Guns screwed with the Duds b/c they attacked were randomly, B) heat for the feud for will be off the charts and C) it pretty much guarantees the Guns are done with Xplosion duty (for now at least). I'm all for it. I also like that this show seems to start a new year. The night of champions deal really puts off how different things are now in TNA from before the ppv. I'm still trying to figure out what they do with Joe while Christian and Sting and Angle and Nash fued though, because presumably Joe-Sting is where they ultimately want to (need to) go. I don't think they've done enough to elavate Bobby Roode for anything between him and Joe to not feel like Joe's slumming, kinda like when the Rock was feuding with Billy Gunn in WWE. Also, this show doesn't seem as high speed as the first couple. Maybe they're gradually getting that they finally have their two hours now and can slow down, even if its just a little. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 I enjoyed the show tonight, the main things that stuck out as negative to me was: Everytime a non-wrestling fan walked through the room happened to be the segments where Kurt Angle was yelling about porn. It was a little odd in the first place, then it kept recurring. I've never had a problem with Junior Fatu, but I have yet to see him in TNA and I really disliked his promo. I was shocked at how many things were screwed up for a taped promo for a taped show. He didn't know the name of of the tournament he is competing in for a title shot and called the tournament a jabroni. Then he called his opponent the name of a deceased legend, along with I got this vibe he was trying to be like the Rock at some points. I did enjoy most of the show though. Would've loved to see MCMG go longer, but this angle with Team 3-D is the first angle with 3-D I've been looking forward to in a long time.
Guest Report post Posted October 19, 2007 I hated the show, until the end. Junior Fatu is a fat piece of shit that shouldn't be getting ANY microphone time, much less two weeks in a row. Hell, he shouldn't be getting any TV time either. The shit with Team 3D squashing everyone has to stop. They have X-Pac heat goin' right now.
luke-o 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Wrong, they have heel heat, and are really the only heels who can generate that kind of heat.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Karen Angle speaking is horrible. Black Reign is horrible. Besides that, I enjoyed the show.
Guest Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Wrong, they have heel heat, and are really the only heels who can generate that kind of heat. They have heel heat because everyone is sick of them. They're the only heels that can generate that heat because the crowd is smarky. They're not going to boo Christian, or Styles and Tomko. I'm not saying they're bad in the ring (even though they are), but what they've been doing over the last few weeks is going to get anyone heel heat. And not in a good way. cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 I might be the only one who actually kinda likes Black Reign, albeit in a totally ironic sort of way. Oh, and have they explained at all as to why Raven is now teaming with Mitchell to take out Abyss?
Jacques 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 With the way the FFYR brackets are, it looks like it will be Kaz vs Christian at Genesis. That's a pretty big match for him.

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 The Dudleys are one of the few heels in TNA that are trying to actually be booed. Angle, Nash, Christian and Aj are all trying to be that evil funny guy.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Pretty fun show. Joe/Christian was great again, but I do hate Joe dropping out of the title picture for now by losing the match to Christian and almost negating the big win. Roode injecting himself into an upper-tier feud doesn't sound good to me. Kaz was terrible on the mic, I had to rewind it three times to figure that he was saying "gold" at the end. That's a shame because the guy was REALLY impressing me and I thought he had a real shot, but I can't see him going too far with that promo. Fatu needs to go. Worswt promo of the year. He copies the Rock, badly, squashes everyone and has done nothing to impress me since he took a dive off of the cage onto Val Venis in 2000. I REALLY hope they get their "money's worth" out of him for the next two months, have him put a few people over and ship him out. Funny dialogue tonight with the porn and Steiner's "Give it up". Styles cracked me up with his dig at Kip James and shout out for Pokemon. Nash looked pretty good, but he has to stop with the long delay before the JackKnife. One knee lift and Angle just submits himself to getting slammed 45 seconds later...ugh. Good show overall, I just fear the worst for the tapings/title match next week seeing as next week's spoiler topic already has more replies than this one... RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Show was ok for the most part last night, seemed to be paced alright. I liked the rollcall of champions thing, it makes the belt mean something a bit more than just props. Roode running in on Joe makes ZERO sense unless he's all of a sudden a member of the Christian Coalition. And does Joe/Roode sound like a lame-ass match on paper. Maybe that will just be done at the next Impact tapings instead of ppv. Agreed that Fatu needs to go - unfortunately TNA is seriously considering bringing in 2 Cool now. UGH....
