I think the only coaching Matt Barnes gets is "don't do anything. You're Matt Barnes."

I want to see what Gerald Green can do once they start to give him some minutes.

He'll hit about 40-something% of his threes, dunk a few times on a fastbreak and then get schooled when trying to guard whomever he's suppose to be guarding. Sorry if that ruins the surprise for you but that's Gerald in a nutshell.

Why do people keep acting like Devin Harris is a little kid. That is a 6'3 damn near 200lb man. Mat barnes is 6'7 and not to much over 200lbs. Its not like Shaq picking on Earl Boykins out there.

I'm not acting like Devin Harris is a little kid. I'm acting like he's giving up about half a foot and about 40 or 50 pounds to his opponent, and is most likely at a disadvantage should an altercation occur. If Barnes wants to pull his wannabe enforcer bullshit, maybe he should try it on someone his size.

BTW, if you're watching this Nuggets/Wizards game, take note, this is pretty much a textbook example of a team running up the score.

Hawks are a good-looking young team. They just got regularly beat inside. Garnett out rebounded the entire team for about the first three quarters.

Granted I only see the score on Sportsline, which doesn't update as often as I'd like, but if they are right, 17 point lead is not really "running up the score".

I think it was 31 or 32 when I made that post, and has been around that for much of the 2nd half (26 as of this post). They're not letting time run off the clock at all, they're just getting the rebound and jacking up a three almost every time. Washington's since went on a mini-run, though, and that seems to have stopped now.

I suppose, but I think if you've got a comfortable lead at any point in the game (my idea of comfortable would probably be about 15 points), you should be content in just running off time and looking for good shots. That's just my opinion, though.

Pistons crush the Clippers

Without Mobley, team leader this season, they had no shot. If they really even had one.

Personally I feel that the Pistons are the only team, going into a game, that the Clippers have no shot of beating.

If the Clippers can somehow sustain a solid record until Brand comes back, that could be a scary fucking team in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind seeing another showdown with the Suns.

That Celtics team is damn good. I like the Hawks effort, but with Perkins and Garnett at the rim, it is really tough to score in there.

And not that it would have made a difference, the refs were trying to hard to be the stars of this game. They were calling all types of bullshit fouls on everyone from both sides and just killing the flow of the game.

Re: TT

Solid roleplayer, decent post defender and good outside shooter (when he wants to be, as you said), but also a cocky bastard, which is OK if you're a guy like Kobe who can go out there and back it up on a nightly basis. But I can't stand that from guys like Tim Thomas and Damon Jones, and Joakim Noah will probably end up being the same way, if stuff I've heard about him is true.

What did you hear about Noah?

Not so much stuff I heard, I guess; Noah just struck me as being a little cocky during the NCAA tournament, but hey, he and his team backed it up, so I can't complain too much. I don't really see his pro career being as successful, but I'll wait until I pass judgment on him from now on.

But IIRC, wasn't there recently something he said as a Bull that created some brief controversy? Czech made some reference to him blaming the fans for something.

Noah will be a better Ben Wallace. He won't be as freakish a rebounder but defensively and energy wise, he will be Wallace, without being a whiney bitch on the offensive end.

And once again, I think the Celtics lack of depth is severly overrated.

Just give Bostonians something else to not shut up about.

Don't look now, but the New England Revolution are in the MLS Cup for the 3rd straight year.

Can't this be used against the common Boston sports fan, as soccer is a "wicked faggy" sport?

I think I crossed my wires, and somebody else was blaming the fans. Noah said the team wasn't playing as a team.

So we need to step it up, and we've got to play together way better, because you can tell the way we're playing right now, we're not playing as a team.

If I had just played my first pro game, I'd probably keep my mouth shut.

That's mainly because people have no idea who some of these guys are due to there being no real reason to watch them the past couple years. Tony Allen was a forgotten man after his injury, nobody knows who Leon Powe is but the guy is a tremendous rebounder and decent low-post scorer and I'm excited about watching Glen Davis and Brandon Wallace develop.

I would like to see them get a good back-up center though. A veteran that can spell Perk some minutes, but I don't know who will be out there come the trading deadline.

I don't think there's a lack of depth at all. Posey is a very good 6th man (when healthy), House is a solid shooter, and Tony Allen is a very good defender and before his major injury showed alot of ability. Rondo is proving to be a real good compliment to the Big 3 with his stellar defense and average to above average passing. Also agree with Bridge's words on Powe/Davis.

I wouldn't call 15 points that comfortable of a lead unless there are like 4 mins left. Especialy when playing against Gilbert Arenas. I feel that when you get a lead by playing your offense, you continue to play your offense.
