Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 How is it running up the score? Should NE sit on its ass and punt the ball every time? They were in field goal range both times with a sizeable lead. What good is it to go for TD's at that point? If the Bills can't stop them, why not?

A track athlete in the Olympics being forced to slow down so not to make the losers look bad? If Buffalo or whomever is getting crushed this badly, its because they deserve it. If this was happening to the Packers I'd be pissed at them for letting it happen, not the team that is raping them.

Because the object of the game is to score points and last I checked 7 was a bigger number than 3. Had they turned it over on downs THEN it would have been a bad decision. I probably would have kicked to avoid that chance, but if it works then I'm not going to complain.

But the fact is that it worked, and I think given that Buffalo's defence is playing so poorly there wasn't much doubt that they would manage to convert. I don't see where we should second-guess a decision that ended up working.

All in all, Buffalo did nothing to help themselves and New England took advantage. Of course now they choose to punt.

Kinetic 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 They have San Francisco's first round pick next year. That's almost certainly a top ten pick...I don't know about first overall.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 It'll probably be in the # 2 to 5 range though. Miami's just about wrapped up the worst record in the league since they have a 2 game lead on everyone else. The Jets, Oakland, St. Louis and San Fran are all 2-8, but only the Niners have lost 8 straight. Unless they catch fire, the Pats will be picking in next year's top 5 if they want to. Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 I wonder who the Pats would target with that pick. Maybe get more protection for Brady with fellow Michigan alum Jake Long?
KingPK 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 They'll probably grab a top LB, maybe a RB since I think they are souring on Maroney (who barely saw the field after his TD run). New England was running the ball and gashing the Bills for yards on those "running up the score" drives. If Buffalo can't stop them, why take pity and let up? Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted November 19, 2007 How long I wonder until they'll start the hype train of "Favre can get his final Super Bowl, by beat New England again!". Oh god, that would be the sweetest ending to this season ever. Green Bay was the last team to beat New England in a Super Bowl, too.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 I keep waiting and waiting for some team that the Pats are blowing out to just get pissed off and send everyone at Brady to goon him. I bet the Steelers will think of it, do the old Carson Palmer number on him. It'll be hilarious to hear TV analysts hyping that Steelers/Pats game as though the Steelers have a chance. The same team that lost to the JETS today. Right now Green Bay looks like the 2nd best team in the league to me. I say that because Dallas has looked shaky in a few games this year (the Bills game, today as well). Hell Dallas had to have a miracle rally to beat the Bills in Buffalo....the team NE stomped by 46 tonight. As far as the Colts go, I think that epic vs. the Patriots simply took their manhood. They just look like a shot team out there.

Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 The patriots going for the TD on 4th and 1 and well within FG distance was a serious dick move. I think at this point, they want to be hated.
Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2007 Watching the Patriots this season is something else. It's almost like an event. I've never seen anything like this in the time I've watched football. There's good teams. There are great teams. There are teams that get great for a period of time. Then there are these Patriots. I mean, holy fuck. Every other team there's always this feeling of anticipation in that they MAY fuck up, and the other team will get a chance. Even if it's a blow out, there's a thought that it may happen. You don't get that feeling with the Patriots. They get the ball. They score. Other team has the ball, Patriots get it back. God forbid you motivate them, and then they basically just beat you to death for the entire game. I had this feeling right after the video at the very beginning...Tom Brady...wasn't even watching it. While the Bills are having this emotional moment...Brady was just stretching. HE DIDN'T CARE. The Bills are getting hyped up to do this one for their fallen player, and the Patriots couldn't have given two fucks. Then they immediately began to systematically destroy the Bills in highly grusome fashion. They didn't give them a single inch out of sympathy, or let the Bills get any kind of victory. They beat them to death. To steal Pro-Wrestling verbage: THAT'S being a fucking heel. I *want* to see the Patriots go undefeated. I want to see it happen, so I'm rooting the bastards on. They are so uncaring, and so arrogant over who they are, and what their going to do, that you can just see it on their faces. I don't think there's a team in the league that can even stop this. The Steeler's defense might give them a pause, but they'll be eaten alive. This is *great* TV.
