KingPK Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Atlanta made this interesting for a quarter and a half which is about a quarter more than I thought they would.
Kinetic Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 I got this piece of crap on a local station, but will have to scramble to catch next Thursday's Dallas-Green Bay game. Damn you, NFL Network!
cabbageboy Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Well at least the Colts managed to get somewhat back on track tonight. If they can get to being somewhat injured instead of decimated they might be able to win out. Might lose to Jacksonville, but that's about it. The one upsetting thing about Green Bay is that they don't seem to finish people off. Detroit sorta half ass got back in that game today, I recall Minnesota staying in one earlier, and the Bears came back to beat the Packers.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 To be fair, no team really finishes people off except for New England, who would have done it by halftime.
KingPK Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 It does massively suck that a game that could decide the #1 seed in the conference is going to be available to only like 30% of the country. And be called by Bryant Gumbel.

snuffbox Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 They should've moved it to NBC. I doubt either team would have minded an extra few days off after the Thanksgiving games. First regulr season matchup of 10-1 teams since 1990 (according to Sportscenter) and nobody gets to fucking watch it.
A Happy Medium Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Luckily, as a resident of the DFW, it will be shown on a local affiliate. Still. The fact that Bryant Gumbel is calling the sporting event of the month is a bit bothersome.

Too bad that's restricted to people with DirecTV. I've never understood how Sunday Ticket is available universally in Canada, but not in the US.
Kahran Ramsus Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 TSN is showing it in HD right? At least I hope so.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 NFL Network games can't be chosen by NBC for the flex game.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 I'm gonna have to go to Hooters or BW3's to watch the game. Fuck the nfl network.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 How did Bryant Gumbel keep his NFLN play-by-play job after last year's debacle? He better have gotten a LOT better since then. He's really quite awful. Both him and collinsworth are. It's painful to listen to.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 I almost feel bad for you guys, as a DirecTV customer, I've had NFL Network since it's debut but almost never watch it. I even have it on my cable system out at my school. Their coverage of the draft back in the spring was excellent, though.

You should see how much the NFL Network wants to charge just because it has the 8 games. Not to mention their demand to be in the basic cable lineup.
Kinetic Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 I think they provide better-than-usual coverage of NFL Network games on NFL.com this season. I'll find out how comprehensive it is, because that's probably what I'll end up doing for this game. If it's just the stats and moving, colored lines GameCenter thing, then fuck it. I'll catch the highlights after the thing. Question my fanhood if you must.
Fuzzy Dunlop Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 NFL Network is not exclusive to DirecTV. I get it on Comcast.
CanadianChris Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 TSN is showing it in HD right? At least I hope so. That's what my program guide says.
snuffbox Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 You'd think Wisconsin would be Green Bay's "local market" not just the Green Bay proper & Milwaukee markets. I guess the rest of this state must just have a safer bovine population.
MFer Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 NFL Network is not exclusive to DirecTV. I get it on Comcast. Same here.
CanadianChris Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 NFL Network is not exclusive to DirecTV. I get it on Comcast. Same here. It's Sunday Ticket that's DirecTV-exclusive, not NFLN.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 Not quite the Toronto Bills but its close
Richard Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 Not quite the Toronto Bills but its close But it's perfectly fine to put CFL teams in the US, right?
treble Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 You can't really compare the 2 situations at all.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 NFL Network is not exclusive to DirecTV. I get it on Comcast. It's exclusive on certain cable companies tho. Not all of em get it.
