SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 And now we are into the last month of the year, and that equals more College Hoops. The curtain falls on the Pre-Season Tournaments until the Holiday Weeks, and now focuses on teams building at large and seeding profiles with some of the most powerful teams locking horns. Well, since the 1st is over, and we had 2 great games with one of them having a finish for the ages. Gonzaga beat UConn to end a brutal road stretch and Providence blew a huge lead only to come back to win the game in OT after scoring 14 unanswered points to tie and go ahead. Tonight's big matchup is going to be Texas Vs. UCLA. It should be a great game. -------------------------------------- And here are the current Top 25's AP Top 25 1. North Carolina (28) 5-0 1,736 2. Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 I'm wondering how much North Carolina is going to crush UK in a few minutes. I think we'll keep it close in the first half and then North Carolina will pound us into oblivion in the second. However, it could get real ugly if Patterson gets into foul trouble early. Mik 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 This is the earliest I have ever thought that UNC was playing at a high level. I think it's a testament to not having a single scholarship freshman. Dickie V. brings up a great point, winning the ACC this year is EXCEPTIONALLY important, because rounds 1-2 can be in Raleigh and the Sweet 16/Elite 8 in Charlotte. That's a trip to the final four, potentially, without leaving a 2 hour radius.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2007 Texas beats UCLA 63-61 in a wild finish. With less than 10 seconds left D.J. Augustin takes a wild, out of control shot that misses the rim but Damion James grabs it like it's alley oop and slams it home for the eventual winning score. TV Schedule for the Week of 12/3 - 12/9 And here's the ESPN, FSN (mostly) national, a Versus game, and CBS games too. Mik 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Nova just came from 21 down w/ 8 minutes to go to beat LSU by 1. It was pretty sweet to watch.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 I have to say that is one dispiriting top 25. An unwanted Duke revival, all sorts of boring as fuck slow down teams stinking up the rankings (UCLA, Pitt, Wash St., Wisconsin, even G'Town to some degree). Teams I flat out detest with a passion like Memphis and Marquette are highly ranked. And U of L's once promising season is already sliding into crap with the Padgett and Palacios injuries. Aside from U of L the only teams I like in the top 25 are Butler and IU. And Kelvin Sampson is making it tougher to like IU by the day.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2007 Nova just came from 21 down w/ 8 minutes to go to beat LSU by 1. It was pretty sweet to watch. I was watching that game, myself. It was so frustrating to see Nova losing to a team that they should beat. So much so, that I stopped watching, and called it a night, thinking that Nova lost. Lo and behold....Nova won the game. Great victory for Jay Wright's team, if you ask me.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 Pretty good Illinois-Arizona game.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2007 God, U of L lost again today to Dayton 70-65. I think we're in big, big trouble right now. If U of L is reliant on a gimpy David Padgett to come back and save the day then this is a long season.
Corkscrew_Senton 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2007 Washington - Pittsburgh had a pretty wild ending. Sam Young's the only guy at Pitt who's impressive.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2007 And the A-10 Strikes again. URI beat Syracuse tonight 91-89 in the Carrier Dome. Seems like this year may be an A-10 Revival.

Guest My Pal, the Tortoise Report post Posted December 11, 2007 I really like that Jamar Smith's punishment for driving drunk, crashing his car, and leaving his teammate for dead is that he's redshirted for the year, ostensibly because Bruce "Squeaky" Weber and The Program do not want to alienate the evidently fertile Peoria recruiting base by kicking him off the team. "Well geez, I guess you didn't kill him, so here, have an extra year of eligibility!"
Danville_Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 Well there goes UK's season down the drain with that 79-76 loss to UAB after getting in foul trouble and blowing a fourteen point lead. I'll be surprised if we even make the NIT this year at this pace.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2007 I knew that Pitt would stage a comeback when Duke was up big at the half. They are way too tough and physical to be blown out. I think Pitt decided enough of this actually playing basketball crap in the 2nd half....it's time to goon and be thugs again!
Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 Damn. Georgetown got that ass beat today by Memphis. Georgetown's not lookin like a top 10 team with that 2nd half performance.
MFer 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 Well, Michigan played hard but they couldn't hold off UCLA. I don't really have any expectations for them this season; I just want to see improvement. Hopefully Belien can find some players who can actually shoot.

Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?!?!??! How the fuck was that not a travel? Apparently you are allowed to slide 15 feet down the floor and not get called for a travel.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2007 A new rule: you can slide all you want but as long as you don't try to get up, its not a travel. And the ref almost jobbed UT out of that game, but a gutty win nonetheless. Tayshaun's cousin is good addition to the team.

With him back and Palacios as well hopefully they can get their legs and thus end up being as good as advertised in the preseason. UK loses to San Diego today. Dear god.
