Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Thanks to their fourth win in a row, Minnesota is currently sitting in the sixth potential playoff seed. Hopefully this success continues As for the Pats, 13-0 is as far as the last two big undefeated teams reached ('98 Broncos and '05 Colts). Ironically, both of those teams dropped two straight after that week, and given the two teams coming up on the Pats schedule, combined with the football deities fucked sense of humor, who knows what might happen
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Neither of those two teams was playing a truly dreadful team the week they lost. And, for anyone looking ahead to the Giants game, there's a pretty decent chance the Giants will have locked up the fifth seed by then, with no chance of moving up or down, and will have absolutely nothing to play for themselves. KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 And people were picking San Francisco to make the playoffs this season. Now they are heading towards a top 5 pick. Oh, wait....... Next week's game may not be safe for pregnant women, those with weak dispositions or with pacemakers.

I haven't listened in a while, but this might be the first time Jim Rome is ROOTING for the 72 Fish to do their champagne popping ceremony when the Pats lose their first game of the year. MrRant 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Well, 4 division titles in a row. At least Seattle gets one home playoff game as I don't see GB/Dallas losing more than 1 game each during the last 3 weeks.

Dunno about that, but I know he's salivating at the proepect of finally having a team sack up and finish off an 0-16 season.

Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 By the logic of "The Patriots get worse as their opponents become more laughable" (as evidenced by sub-par performances against Philadelphia and Baltimore), if the Dolphins keep their mouths shut and don't invoke the "They challenged us, we must humiliate them" go-around, Miami should win by 30. Jaxxson Mayhem 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Troy Smith debuts, and looks pretty good. Got his 1st TD with him rushing. Not bad.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 Well, I think we all expected the Ravens to have nothing left for tonight after the Patriots game. It seems like a lot of these NBC games have been snoozers this year. At this point I hope the Patriots do go 16-0, cause the pressure will be so unbelievable on them in the playoffs that they will blow it. I'm one of those people who thinks a loss helps a team in this sort of situation. A 16-0 team will have to keep winning to stay alive and maintain perfection, whereas a 15-1 team can relax and play football.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2007 (edited) I just don't get that line of thought. Even if they lose one game, there still is the pressure of winning in the playoffs where mistakes are amplified and it is all on the line. It's not like losing to the Jets will make them say "Ok, we couldn't beat a 4-win team, but at least the pressure is off to be perfect!" The Philly and Baltimore games did more than enough to snap them out of whatever complacency they had. I think it was more the fact that they played three straight prime-time games against teams that were playing for nothing but to knock off the best in the league and just wore out a bit. That's why they didn't practice again until Thursday after last week. Edited December 10, 2007 by KingPK
