Ali kind of flopped, although it did well awards wise. I Robot is his only other starring movie to not break 150 million domestically (it got to 148 or so). Truly shocked the hell out of me. Families were coming out in droves for it. And I can't count how many people asked for "Perfect Christmas" or "This Holiday". If you count "flop" as "box office < budget" rather than "no one came to see it" Wild Wild West finished it's run like $50 million under it's budget if I remember correctly. Six Degrees of Separation didn't do anything in the box office either, but it was intended to be more of an "arty" film rather than a huge box office monster so I think that was just Will trying to get some acting cred. I'd say Will Smith is the top box office draw in Hollywood. Myers was basically the straight man. I am not so sure anyone else could have pulled off Donkey the way he did and I would say that character was probably the biggest reason for the sucess of that franchise. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2007 Samuel L. Jackson being #1 is factoring in every movie he's ever made. Dude was in three Star Wars and Jurassic Park. I think Ford is tops if you add starring roles. Dreamworks marketing for Shrek 1 was a big reason why the movie was a success. It was the first computer animated film that really touted its starpower, and Eddie Murphy in family films is always a good selling point.
