foleyfanforever88 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 What are some things you've heard or seen that made you immediately think of wrestling, even though the thing in question had nothing to do with wrestling at all? For me, the best example is a boat I saw being pulled on the highway; the side of the boat said Nitro and the motor said Mercury. (or maybe it was the other way around, idk) Another one: The current President of UConn's last name is Hogan..before he took the position our president's last name was Austin.
Retard Girl Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 i think of wrestling whenever i see folding chairs, ladders, cheap tables, wimpy aluminum trash cans, stop signs, light tubes... hardware stores are fun XD
tbondrage99 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Whenever I hear the theme to 2001: A Space Oddesy I think of Ric Flair same goes for the song Randy Savage used as his theme in WWE.
Retard Girl Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Whenever I hear the theme to 2001: A Space Oddesy I think of Ric Flair.... lol, i do that too. whenever i hear it i go WOOOOOOOOO! really loud. no one's gotten the refrence yet

CanadianGuitarist Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 A co-worker and I were discussing the forthcoming One Night Stand/ECW reunion two years ago, when had considered re-arranging some box sets so the different colours spelled ECW. Since then, we've been calling electronics 'ECW' - The Electronics Coalition of Wal*Mart.

Diamonddust Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 When I went to Charlotte over the summer and a friend called, I answered, "I'm live in Charlotte... WOOOOO!!!!.... North Carolina." Also, when football games go into the 4th quarter and everyone holds up four fingers... I break out my Nature Boy strut.
King Kamala Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 There's a residence hall at the college I go to named Scott Hall. I giggle everytime I walk or drive by it.
DrVenkman PhD Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I hear ya, KKC. We have a similar thing here (a church!) that's been amusing me since 2002. I finally took a picture of it last Spring.

I finally took a picture of it last Spring. do you yell "Hey Yo!" when you walk by it? at my high school gradaution, when they played "pomp" a bunch of the senior class guys was yelling "oh yea!!!!! snap into a slim jim" anytime I go into the warehouse at work and see the big ass ladders I think of jeff hardy pulling out the HUGE ASS ladder at wm 2000. My old english teachers name was MS. Kane so alot of the guys who were wrestling fans would tease about it, so when I wore a Kane tshirt to school, she liked it. when they play the wolfpac song for Giambi at Yankee stadium and everyone throws up the "clique" hand signal

You're getting the attention that retarded kids get when they piss their pants at Baskin-Robbins. Look, I know we all took the same road to get here, but I think most of us have the discretion not to make a stupid noise when we hear a popular Strauss composition.

I bet that you think Ill Will Press is genius. I had to come up to the wrestling forums because you are a piece of shit.
CanadianGuitarist Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I brought this up in TCS, oh, two months ago, but there's a drive-thru guy named Kane at the Tim Horton's near my house. No matter who is on the loudspeaker, if it's a guy, I invariably scream "KANE! THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE!" a la Badd Blood 97.
King Kamala Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 The weekend sports anchor for the local NBC affliate always used to host all our pep rallies during high school and his name was Lee Goldberg and inevitably I would help lead a "Goldberg" chant. The gym turned into an episode of Nitro circa 1998 during every pep rally.
Retard Girl Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 lol, i suck. WEEEEEEEE! *dances off into the distance*
JHawk Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 At work the other day, I got a call from a guy named "Eddie Guerrero". Seriously.
King Kamala Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 lol, i suck. WEEEEEEEE! *dances off into the distance* Ladies and gentlemen, the female Razateca!
CanadianGuitarist Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 At work the other day, I got a call from a guy named "Eddie Guerrero". Seriously. Buddy of mine who works for Capital One got a call from a guy named Kurt Angle about a year ago.

Nighthawk Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 It's not at all difficult to get confused stares, you don't need to make wrestling references. I occasionally go up to strangers and tell them "I want to tell you about a book that changed my life." And then I pull out Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. I also used to carry a folding chair in my trunk, in case I got in a rumble. You get in a fight and pull out a folding chair, that fight's over.
Richard Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 My sister works at an elementary school, and since our last name is Angle, they ask her if Kurt is her dad and tell her they saw her dad on tv.
Jericholic82 Posted December 25, 2007 Report Posted December 25, 2007 when I told someone recently, I dont drink or smoke, they asked "what are you straight-edge?" "I said no,my name isnt CM Punk?" to total balnk stare reaction. "
Corey_Lazarus Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 My fashion hasn't changed a whole lot since middle school, right when the DDP/Raven/Benoit feud was in full swing, and Raven was my favorite, so I'd always wrap my flannel shirt around my waist (had one since I was, like, 7, and just kept getting new ones over the years) while in the middle of growing my hair long. I still saw people giving me the crucifix pose even after wrestling stopped being incredibly popular. I thought for a while that those O&A WOW stickers were for the semi-insider Apter mag World of Wrestling, which had a nearly identical logo, so I was always like "wow, a lot of people like that magazine."
Epic Reine Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 My brother likes to shave his head completley bald once a year, usually before spring time, so everytime he does I always ask him "Who's Next?" or "Is that the bottom line?"

God, I thought I was the only one who thought that. I didn't realize until like six months ago that those WOW stickers weren't related to World of Wrestling magazine.
Red Baron Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 At work today someone said that the Sous Chef had a stone cold look. I looked in the main kitchen area to see if he Thesz Press the Beef Short Ribs.
FroGG_NeaL Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I used the word "mark" to describe an over obsessed fan of musicians, comic books, and all types of shit. Before I ever heard the term in wrestling. I use it in the same way Hip-Hop heads use "Stan", refering to the Eminem song. In 8th and 9th grade, like 20 kids wrestled in the gym at luch time, on the Safty mats. People would sit in there and watch us and shit. We each picked a wrestler to emulate or whatever. Everybody bought a T-shirt. Six or so of us bought NWO shirts, and we beat the fuck out of each other. It was all good until this one kid DDT'd another dude from the top of the bleachers. That kid got a severe concussion and lost his memory for a long ass time. I'm drunk, I've lost my train of thought. Fuck it.
Nighthawk Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Mark isn't even a wrestling term, it means the victim of a con, and was commonly used in carnivals, thus it's developed association with wrestling, although in the sense you're using it, that is closest to the modern wrestling terminology.
