It's not like the dogs gender is going to be random. You should know if you're getting a boy or a girl.

Since you already have a name picked out for a boy, I'll assume you'd prefer a boy and are going to get one. You will then use the name that you've already pre-decided on.

So really, this thread will end up pointless.

My dog's name is Punkin.

Mine's named Motor. This name was settled when a friend and I found him—he was a stray—and were trying to get him to approach us, since he proved timid when he tried getting closer to him. We started yelling out random words, on the off-chance one of them would be his name. "Motor" was the first one to prompt him to walk up to us, so it stuck.

Duke.

Legit best dog name.

(By the way, "Legit best dog name" was a second suggestion, not a description of the first.)

Yeah, but how many times has it been done before.

There is nothing besides Dan.

If you end up getting the pug, name it Alaska. Not only is it a contrast with the pug (big, quiet, pleasant to look at), but it's gender-neutral.

Alternatively, name it Crowbar. That way you can scare off potential intruders. Who's going to stick around to see what kind of dog somebody would name Crowbar?

Barry. I always saw this as a good dog name for some reason.
