any word on who qualified between Carlito/Santino vs DH Smith and Drew McIntyre

Is that a joke question?

Why would that be a joke question? They ahd the match scheduled and listed on the site but later changed it.

As for the Big Show/Lashley feud idea that someone mentioned earlier in this thread...

That would make TWO ready-made feuds for Lashley, should the writers remember such information in history.

He also has the feud with Mr. Kennedy for being the one that put him out of action.

Not sure if it's on wwe.com yet, but Shelton Benjamin qualified for the Royal Rumble last night in Jonesboro, AR by beating Tommy Dreamer.

But wasn't Shelton scheduled for a qualifying match on Tuesday?

The list is updated. With the additon of HBK, Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry, and The Great Khali have all been added to the Royal Rumble.

There's some pretty big boys in there, now all we need is Big Daddy V.

What about Big Show re-debuting in the Royal Rumble? His return could be storylined with Lashley's - since Lashley did beat Big Show for the ECW.

Probably re-debuts this Monday against Triple H, since he's getting another shot at the Royal Rumble.

So basically,

HHH, Batista, or Undertaker

have the best chance of winning the Royal Rumble unless they go with the surprise winner ala Rey Mysterio.

I'd like to see Taker win it again. Batista has to do something besides chase a title all year, and I'm really not buying Triple H as a face at this point of his career...let alone a top face heading into a WrestleMania title match.

I don't think it's so much a commendation of Styles and/or Coachman as it is a "You know what, it's just about time for you morons to fire me again, so you might as well get the New Breed of Commentating some on-air practice." statement.

This year, more than any, id love a suprise winner like Austin kinda was in 1997. HHH,Batista and Taker all won it before so its kind of like ho-hum to me.

I was clogging up a predictions thread with this conversation - figured I should move it to the right thread:

Is Flair even going to be in the Rumble? He's facing MVP on the undercard but guys in the undercard have been in The Rumble in years past.

At one point in the other thread I was going to point out that double duty hasn't happened since 2000 - and even then, it was part of an angle where the day of the show Kaientai and the Posse got kicked out of the Rumble to make way for Jericho, Holly, Chyna, The Outlaws, and APA (that doesn't add up but that's how it was promoted). The exception was going to be 2003, where Show/Lesnar had a match to open the show where the winner got to be in the Rumble, so that wouldn't count, but then I watched the 2005 Rumble and for no real reason Shawn and Edge got to do double duty, so I guess it's happened more recent than I thought. Angle also stole Nunzio's number but that obviously doesn't count as advertised double duty. The "rule" (which never matters since wrestling has a very loose rule continuity) that was specifically mentioned in 2004 was if you had a match on the card, you couldn't be in the Rumble (Kurt had sort of tricked Eddie into having a match with Chavo on the show, thus removing him from the Rumble).

Leading up to the 2000 Rumble, they had the match graphic with everyone pictured. Besides the Posse & Kaientai, Mark Henry and, I think, Mideon didn't end up in the match. So that would work that out. About the double-duty rule, don't forget about the randomness of last year: With MNM vs. Hardys on the undercard, everyone but Mercury ended up in the Rumble match.

I'll wait until all 30 are announced before I do the contest. Sure, Santino will probably last the shortest time, but who knows if they actually add Shannon Moore or someone worse...

Thanks for the clarification. For whatever reason I thought no one from the opening tag match (and thus no one at all from the undercard) was in the Rumble.

I would imagine that the Rumble winner gets first choice, the EC winner gets second choice, and however they decide #3 gets the shot at the third title. They've had guys go from one show to the other to challenge for titles, so it shouldn't make a difference which show wins what match.
