Mik Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 MMA Playground's new "season" starts w/ UFC 80. I thought maybe we can have a TSM fight camp, which would, in effect, be a TSM Fantasy league for MMA. I already created the camp so if people are interested in doing this I suppose you can just post your name and I can send the invite. I'm not sure how else to do it.
The Niggardly King Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 ... My record speaks for itself. ...
Mik Posted January 11, 2008 Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 If you are interested you need to register for an account there if you don't have one and then post your user name there here so I can send you the invite. You in KOAB or not? Your season record is 0-0 now.
Youth N Asia Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Count me in...I don't know how this is done, but I'll figure it out
Mik Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 YnA - you need to register at MMA Playground and post your user name here so I can invite you. UHBroward - already in another fight camp. I think you can only be in one. I was not allowed to invite you by the system. Starvenger - name was not found in the search. Everyone else has been invited.
Mik Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 How exactly do you have fights? You don't. It's a very, very large MMA picks league. Fight camp = division in most other fantasy sports. There is also a wagering section that uses the real money betting lines, but it's fantasy wagering. You can also rank your top 10 in all weight classes and p4p and it makes a site wide list similar to ESPN Sportsnation type polls.

Youth N Asia Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Do we win points by our "bets" or picks?
Broward83 Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 You get points for your picks. When you pick, you'll see that you can get points for correct pick of winner, correct pick of the round it ends and then the correct pick of how it ends. Some fights will give you an "underdog bonus" for picking the underdog, and some "hot fights" will give you double the standard amounts of points. The betting, its more for bragging rights.
Mik Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 I might be wrong, but I think that the season "winner" for betting gets $500 or whatever, as well. But in terms of standings within the camp, yeah, it's just points.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I'm in, ypov is my name.
Mik Posted January 18, 2008 Author Report Posted January 18, 2008 Ok, I've got everyone. If you want to be in this, I'd suggest getting it in tomorrow before the PPV (3 pm EST) to get the whole season in.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I'm realizing how little I know about this card due to the fact that I'm picking half the fights with next to no insight.
Broward83 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Fuck, didn't throw down any bets and they've already taken the card off for betting. Whelp, that sucks.
Mik Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 I did quite well on this PPV. Gonzaga/Werdum is what fucked me, especially in the betting because I parlayed it as well. But #181 on all of the site in terms of picks is pretty neat.
Youth N Asia Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I finshed 56th on the UFC fantasy voting, calling the Penn match 100% even to the minute. haven't been able to log into mma playground yet
Mik Posted January 20, 2008 Author Report Posted January 20, 2008 I think we should use this board for talk instead of the one provided... more traffic here. If I don't start hearing some more chatter about this... I'm going to go with the rubber guard slogan. I'd still like some more suggestions about the logo. And I took you all to the woodshed on this PPV.
