What the fuck is wrong with people.

The movie going public (and by that, I mean teens) would rather watch "comedy" with plenty of vomit and badly done pop culture references than something you know, good. I lend some of the blame on MadTV and Family Guy.

There is no God. Not one. I can't believe we sold out two shows for Meet the Spartans yesterday. Mind numbing.

On a positive note, Juno cracks 100 million. Awesome for them.

Ha, I didn't think it had a shot to be #1, so I was scanning the list looking for it and laughed that it didn't even make the top 12.

I just don't know how someone can see the commercials for it and think, 'Wow, I need to go see that!'

I can't even blame it all on teenagers, as there was this guy I used to work with (in his 40s) who, for a good week, kept talking about how hilarious Date Movie was.

Fun movie going fact in terms of people who should know better: I saw "Kickin' It Old School" in theatres on the SAME NIGHT I saw The Condemned in theatres. This was back when a group of us were going to the movies every Tuesday and taking advantage of the now permanent (originally it was supposed to be only until the end of Summer) $4.20 pricing. We just started going again (those of us still in town) - Rambo this Tuesday!

The Condemned was the weirdest movie audience I was a part of. It was me, my friend, and four or five middle aged men all sitting by themselves. I imagine it probably looked like an adult movie theatre audience except nobody was jerking off (At least I hope nobody was jerking off)

You guys realize the numbers aren't final because there are still evening shows tonight, right? Why these things are always released on Sunday afternoon continues to boggle my mind.

They are estimates and they are almost always very close to the final numbers.

Relax, there, JHawk. Perhaps you'd like to make another "prediction" that is word for word stolen from another website?

I'm sure we'd all prefer Rambo, but it's not exactly high art either.

Bah, if the dialogue were better, this motherfucker would be getting mass critical acclaim.

There was dialogue? Eh, I didn't notice (or care).

I really thought meet the Spartans would bomb. The only ads I saw for it was on Raw, and it looked really retarded even for those types of movies. I at least chuckled when I saw some stuff in the Epic Movie trailers. Norbit getting #1 didn't suprise me as it had a ton of advertising behind it. My respect for the general public continues to spiral downwards.

You do realise that the estimates are usually 99.9% correct with what the final numbers are right? That's why they're released on Sunday afternoon.

What the fuck is wrong with people.

Does this really need to be said every time a stupid movie does well? Must a movie be GREAT for people to want to see it?

Some people can go to the movies and have a good time without having to see a "masterpiece". I actually saw this this weekend, to a packed theater no less. Was it this amazing, comedic, work of art? No. but if for some reason, you were forced to watch it, I can't imagine you just sitting there, staring with a stern look on your face. That's my way of saying, there are funny parts. Even for all the movie goers, who look at these movies and say...'what the fuck is wrong with people'

It's exactly what it looks like from the commercials. Which is just stupid fun. Whether it's a 'bad movie' or not. And it's common knowledge by now, that these movies usually don't completely bomb. So I just don't see the point, of every month, comments like 'What's wrong with people', or 'Ive lost faith in the American public' or whatever the usual smart ass comments are.

I had never heard of Untraceable (and still know nothing about it) and How She Move (Canadian street dance movie as best I can tell)

You know next weekends #1 is going to be worse than Meet the Spartans, the only redeeming thing is it wont be an actual movie but still..
