SilverPhoenix Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Baylor got the shaft. The team that always get shown first before the final bracket NEVER makes it.
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 All the big conference bubble teams seem to have gotten in.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 A&M vs. BYU. That's going to be a grinder of a game. WHOOO BEARS!! They deserved it.
Bored Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 By the seedings Villanova was the last team in. Looks like it was Illinois State who Georgia cost a spot. Man is it weird seeing an SEC team as 14 seed.
CanadianChris Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 West region: 1/16: UCLA vs. Mississippi Valley St. 8/9: BYU vs. Texas A&M 5/12: Drake vs. Western Kentucky 4/13: Connecticut vs. San Diego 2/15: Duke vs. Belmont 7/10: West Virginia vs. Arizona 3/14: Xavier vs. Georgia 6/11: Purdue vs. Baylor Awesome. I'm so happy Baylor made it. That reaction was fantastic. There isn't anyone in this bracket that should challenge UCLA.
Hawk 34 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 All the big conference bubble teams seem to have gotten in. Ohio State didn't and fires have already engulfed Columbus.
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Fires probably engulf Columbus if 8 a.m. 100-level sociology is cancelled, though.
CanadianChris Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Neither did Arizona State. If they'd gotten in, I would've been disgusted.
Jaxxson Mayhem Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 There isn't anyone in this bracket that should challenge UCLA. Stop lyinnnnnn. Duke gonna win that region. Purdue's in there too.
SilverPhoenix Posted March 16, 2008 Author Report Posted March 16, 2008 Baylor got the shaft. The team that always get shown first before the final bracket NEVER makes it. And I was wrong. Good for Baylor. They deserved it.
Guest Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 We're gone in the first round. At least this season with Mayo was fun. Oh wait, it wasn't.
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 wait are they srsly rioting in columbus
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 UCLA got a cake walk to the Final Four.
Kurt Angle Mark Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Not sure what to make about Fullerton getting Wisconsin However nice of the committee to send Cal State Fullerton to our unofficial second home Omaha, NE
Hawk 34 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 That's true. Xavier will be a tough game for UCLA.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Nothing's for certain, but I'd say out of the four regions, UCLA has the easiest path. I was suprised to see Villanova and Oregon get in. I thought they both played their way out of the tourney, but the bubble teams were all extremely weak this year. Time to start filling out the bracket.
CanadianChris Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 My Elite 8 after about five minutes of thought: North Carolina over Tennessee Kansas over Wisconsin Texas over Memphis UCLA over Xavier Championship: North Carolina over UCLA Looking at the brackets, it's incredible how top-heavy college basketball is this year.
RonL21 Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Eh. I like Coach Knight's Idea of making it just the Top 128 Teams. All it does is add one game and every team that deserves a bid gets in and we will still pretty much end up w/ the same result in the end.
Cheech Tremendous Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 I don't see a lot of first round upsets popping off the page like in year's past. The 12-5 matchup has sort of lost its relevance the past few years with the increased attention placed on the mid-majors.
Bored Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Speaking of expanding, don't forget this year we have the College Basketball Invitational which will take the scraps that the NIT doesn't take. Apparently they will have no problem taking a school with a losing record. How exciting!

Bored Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Sadly I see no selection show on the channel guide but the NIT selection show is on at 9:00 PM EST/6:00 PM PST on ESPN2 tonight. I guarantee you it's gets higher ratings than the women's selection show. One thing to think of when making picks this year is law of averages as last year there was incredibly low number of upsets without a single double digit seed getting past the first weekend. This year it I think it may be a little closer to normal.
Guest Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 My Elite Eight... Tennessee over North Carolina Kansas over Georgetown Memphis over Stanford UCLA over Xavier Then Kansas over Tennessee and Memphis over UCLA... Kansas cuts down the nets. Only lower seeded Sweet 16 teams I see are Oral Roberts and St. Joe's.

Mik Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Tennessee isn't even going to make it to their loss against UNC. First round upset special: Cornell over Stanford! Go Big Red!
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Eh. I like Coach Knight's Idea of making it just the Top 128 Teams. He's not your coach. Would you call him Dad?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 Georgia a 14! Is that the lowest major conference seed ever? I have watched literally zero college basketball games this season, so my bracket is going to be about as random as it's ever been.
Guest Beastalentier Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 In all fairness, they have a losing record, so it's hard to justify anything higher than that. Personally, I would've ranked them below good old Portland State, which I feel should be the official underdog team of TSM.
