Guest Smues Report post Posted March 9, 2009 I see that next month's theme will be Large and In Charge. Goes without saying that it won't be any good. Oh man if that means lots of Mabel and Giant Gonzalez I might have to cancel my service.
landy1987 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Sounds like a pretty good lineup to me: APRIL 2009: LARGE AND IN CHARGE All April, WWE Classics on Demand is “Large and In Charge” as incredible giants and super-sized Superstars wreak havoc throughout unforgettable events and matches. Legends Hall of Fame: Gorilla Monsoon – One of WWE’s most important figures, Gorilla Monsoon was an influential force for nearly four decades. Relive Monsoon’s career... a dominant Superstar during the ‘60s and ‘70s, a beloved commentator during the ‘80s and ‘90s and a behind-the-scenes authority throughout the Attitude era. Hosted by Gene Okerlund, this retrospective includes legendary encounters against Andre the Giant and Muhammad Ali, hilarious moments with announcing partner Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Gorilla’s 1994 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Film Room with Gordon Solie: Giants – The Film Room is back with brand-new episodes featuring historic, rarely-seen footage captured during the 1960s and ‘70s. Hall of Fame announcer Gordon Solie provides the call of the action, highlighting the impressive array of giants who competed throughout the NWA’s Florida territory, including Andre the Giant, Haystacks Calhoun and “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. The Big Ones WCW SuperBrawl V – WCW World Champions collide when Hulk Hogan defends the gold against former world title-holder, the dominating super-heavyweight Vader. Plus, Sting joins forces with “Macho Man” Randy Savage to battle the massive team of Big Bubba and Avalanche. Harlem Heat defends the WCW World Tag Team title vs. the Nasty Boys and much more. Old School – WWE Classics super-sizes the Old School action with four (4) huge cards highlighting some of WWE’s most dominant big men. From 1978 at Madison Square Garden, WWE Champion Bob Backlund defends his championship against future WWE Hall of Famer “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. In August 1985 from Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens, “8th Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant battles Big John Studd. Then, just a month later at MSG, Andre is out for revenge in the “Colossal Jostle”, facing Studd’s partner-in-crime, King Kong Bundy. Finally, WWE’s back in NYC in 1990 as the immortal Hulk Hogan takes on the massive Earthquake. Four enormous cards headlined by massive superstars, plus other great matchups like Bruno Sammartino vs. Superstar Billy Graham, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat vs. Magnificent Muraco, the Hart Foundation vs. the British Bulldogs, “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase vs. Big Boss Man and more. TV Classics The Monday Night War – Starting in April, there are now two great ways to relive the battle between WWE and WCW for sports entertainment supremacy. Continue along as the action heats up in December 1997. The Undertaker battles the Rock on a Holiday edition of Raw, while on Nitro, Hollywood Hogan and Sting play mind games heading towards their epic Starrcade encounter. Plus, you can now relive the fight from the very start with Monday Night War: The Beginning. Head back to when the first shots were fired in September 1995. Hulk Hogan defends the WCW Championship against Lex Luger on Nitro while Shawn Michaels and Sycho Sid square off for the WWE Intercontinental title on Raw. Shorties Get “Large and In Charge” as the Punjabi Playboy, The Great Khali and spokesman Ranjin Singh present matches featuring the biggest men to ever step into a ring. Enormous Superstars in action include Andre the Giant, Kevin Nash, Bruiser Brody, Yokozuna, Kamala, the Big Show, Earthquake, One Man Gang and many more. Guest Report post Posted March 9, 2009 I've wanted to see SuperBrawl V for a while. That Monday Night War excerpt is a problem. Are they going to run two a month, one being from the track they're already on and one from the beginning? That would be horrible.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 I guess they want to satisfy the newer subscribers (like me) who haven't watched from the beginning, but yeah, this better be in addition to the two regular MNW episodes a month not a replacement for one.
Guest Report post Posted March 9, 2009 WM IV won the PYBO. I like that shitty show. The choices for next month are Spring Stampede '94, IYH: Revenge of the Taker, and Backlash 2006. First is obviously the best.
shadylpete 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Starting in April, there are now two great ways to relive the battle between WWE and WCW for sports entertainment supremacy. Note: It says TWO great ways...so they'll be showing both the current ones and another set from the beginning. Which is great for me because they were in Oct/Nov 1996 when i got the service
Guest Smues Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Yes, but the question is will we now only get one 95 Raw and one 97/98 Raw per month, or will be still get 2 raws and nitros at that timeline, and an additional one or two from the beginning? Because I'll be pissed if they slow it down to progressing one per month. As for the PYBO, I never have much interest in the last couple of years options they put up, you can always buy that. Was Revenge of Taker the April or the May 97 PPV? Because if it's April I've seen it, and it's good, May I haven't seen it and don't know. But whichever it is, I'd really like to see Spring Stampede, so that gets my vote.
shadylpete 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Good point, guess we sit and wait for the sunflower schedule to be posted up. As for the PYBO, my vote goes to Spring Stampede as well.
WWEwrestling 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Gorilla Monsoon's Hall Of Fame career was already celebrated back in June 2007. I believe this marks the 3rd time they've repeated a wrestlers Hall Of Fame career. Harley Race (October 2006 & September 2008), and Gorilla Monsoon (June 2007 & April 2009). I wanna say "Superstar" Billy Graham as well, but I don't think he's been repeated since I got this service in August 2006. I could be wrong. I don't have it wrote down as it being a repeat. That's ok, I can't wait for the classic Monsoon matches. Expect the 70s indeed.
Brett Wolverton 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Using Cawthon's site, I've got the cards for the Big Ones in April. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 I'm going to assume that since Old School was doubled up, MNW is also doubled up and we're not getting short changed. I approve of rerun move this if that's the case.

landy1987 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Last year was Bret, this is the first time they have featured Hogan. Some of the other repeat HOF shows have been George Steele, Bobo Brazil, Moolah, Morales, Andre and probably several more
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Oh yeah, it was Bret. I think I was confused with them showing the Hogan Anthology (and I don't even remember when that was now). I approve of SuperBrawl V on the "it's a WCW show and I've never seen it" scale, but I also assume it sucks. I wonder what the other PPV will be (and hopefully the 4 Old School shows aren't some PPV replacement).
Guest Smues Report post Posted March 9, 2009 SKeith's opinion on Superbrawl V from his original rant: The show itself is horrible and worthless, as were most things in 1995 WCW. Don’t even bother checking out the back of the video box in the store, rent porn or something instead. I look forward to it in the 'I know it's going to be bad" way. It's not car crash bad like Vince Russo's WCW stuff. It's put-you-to-sleep bad like pre-Russo WCW 1999 was.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Yeah, it really is garbage. Even Wright/Roma isn't as hilarious as some people have made it out to be. Just one boring plodding match after another. That said, I dare anyone to watch this in one viewing w/ no FF aid.

Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 From Clash XXX I got the Stars of Mania video, Mania 1, and ECW in today's update. Were there not any new Shorties or anything? I feel like I'm missing something.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 No, it's a very small update this week and next week. Then it's Mania X7, SmackDown, and Shorties in 2 weeks (maybe Shorties next week, I forget).
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2009 Bah. XVII (that's right, I don't say "X7". I'm a loner, Venky. A rebel.) is the only Mania I care about this month. EDIT-Part 2 of the Stars of Mania doesn't have the Foley/Edge match advertised in the summary.
909 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 They're showing No Mercy 2004 next month in addition to SuperBrawl V. For some reason, it's separated, as in they'll put up one part two weeks apart from the other. Weird, that. But I have a problem with the other thing on the sunflower schedule. They are starting the MNW over. 1 week a month from the current track they're on, two weeks a month from the beginning. Two rather than one from the beginning saves the whole thing, as long as they keep it up.
shadylpete 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2009 I notice they only list one episode of the current MNW though. So I figure it's only 1 episode per month now, which will really slow this process down and annoy the hell outta me.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I'm not happy with that new MNW schedule. Look at the expiry for MNW: The Beginning - it's going to be up a full month. Does that mean the 12/29/97 MNW won't air until May 20th? Maybe things will be back on track in May, but the new "once a month" for the current run they started this month is quite annoying. Agreed... especially since they were getting closer and closer to the point where the WWE started actually winning the Monday Night Wars. I was looking forward to seeing things like the Tyson/Austin Raw, which would have been coming up sooner rather than later.
Smues 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 I really don't like this change. Now it'll take like 5 years to get to the fingerpoke of doom, and 10+ to get to the russo awfulness on Nitro.
