Maztinho 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 It was pretty badass when the timekeeper didn't bother to start the clock in that game against the Rockets. You Mormons get cutthroat. Yeah, it harkens back to the days of Porter Rockwell. Now that was a badass Mormon. I mean I remember when Bobby Hansen got traded away, he didn't ask to leave, but the team could get some pieces they thought they needed and his first game back in Utah he got booed. I mean, WTF, people? I argue with people around me all the time about how you can't expect Stockton like devotion from every player you draft. I mean yeah, if the guy is being an idiot and wants out while not being productive for the team at all (DeShawn Stevenson, I'm looking at you, although he did get better under a different system) boo him, but AK has been solid on the floor, he just wants a redefined role. There's nothing wrong with that as long as he's going balls out when the ball gets tipped. Watch Boozer leave and become the Most Hated Man in Utah, you watch. It'll happen. Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 Boozer leaving would definitely get him MHM status. Either way, next summer will be an interesting offseason for the Jazz. I also think I'm probably one of a maximum of seven Jazz fans in New Jersey.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Why do people expect Boozer to leave? He chose Utah over Cleveland. Surely he likes it there?
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Why do people expect Boozer to leave? He chose $68 million over $40 million. Surely he likes it there? I made a few changes to your post.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Ok, so it was money. Wouldn't this mean Utah would pay a lot to keep him? Surely they know he's one of the two reasons Utah is better than they have any right to be, Sloan not included?

Surely they know he's one of the two reasons Utah is better than they have any right to be, Sloan not included? He'll get max offers from other teams. I don't know if he'll leave for sure, but if the money's the same I'm not sure why anyone would choose to stay in Utah. Miami, for instance, will throw huge money at him. Playing with Wade and Beasley in the East? Doesn't sound too bad.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Don't forget Marion, too. The Heat won big with that deal.

Surely they know he's one of the two reasons Utah is better than they have any right to be, Sloan not included? With what's left of AK's deal and Deron Williams' extension, the Jazz payroll is really tied up. Plus, they still have to worry about re-signing Memo Okur, since Fesenko hasn't necessarily panned out.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Don't forget Marion, too. The Heat won big with that deal. In that scenario they'd have to let Marion walk to have enough money to sign Boozer.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Oh... so Okur is worth more than Boozer? WTF?
Maztinho 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2008 Personally, I'd say no. But resigning Okur has been a priority for the organization, so who knows. Utah's front office aren't total retards though so they'll work something out.
Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 Actually it'll propably be a crazy season for the Jazz's front office: RESTRICTED Paul Millsap Deron Williams Kyrylo Fesenko (Team Option) UNRESTRICTED Carlos Boozer (P) Jarron Collins Kyle Korver (ETO) Mehmet Okur (ETO) Ronnie Price They're going to have to work something out with Okur because there really aren't any other starting center caliber players available. Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 Knicks plan to waive Stephon Marbury I think we all saw this coming months ago, but it's still fairly big news. Looks like Walsh wants to remove any and all ties to the previous regime. Marbury seems like the type of guy who could get in shape and have a great year just to say "I told you so." The article suggests Miami as a fit, but I don't see that one at all. He needs to go somewhere where he can have the ball in his hands. Wade, Marion, Beasley and Marbury on one team? Not until they change the rules to allow two balls on the court.

Steviekick 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 I don't see why they would do that, unless they've given up on Law.
Cheech Tremendous 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2008 I don't see how Marbury could possibly fit into a backcourt that already has Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby. I don't think he's in contention for a starting job anywhere. Wouldn't the most likely scenario be joining a contending veteran team that needs some bench scoring? Oddly enough, San Antonio and Phoenix are a couple of places that come to mind.

LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2008 Those look like a rec-league version of the Knicks unis. That's exactly what I was thinking. It was bad enough they yanked the Sonics, but now everything about them, the logo, the name and the uniform looks like a team you would find in the local Parks and Recreation league.
