King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 A popular independent wrestling venue in Philadelphia. Talk about the worst kept spoiler in history! Alright, it's obvious that I'm talking about The Philadelphia Radisson Hotel Ballroom. I confess!

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 When am I up next? Don't I usually pick after bps? Yes, you're up and then I'm after you. OK, time for someone to pay dues for stealing B-Boy... I'll post my venue and wrestler/manager pick shortly.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 huh...that's the first time I forgot to PM someone after one of my picks.
Diamonddust 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 As many would suspect, The Omni was one of my "Big 3" in terms of venues wanted.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 Then something tells me I can guess what one of the other ones is for sure since I had to flip a coin.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 I'm not picking a manager, as a mouthpiece really wouldn't fit in with the style of my promotion, so I'm sticking with in-ring talent. My next wrestling pick is someone that I can't believe has made it this far; I went through all the picks so far to make sure, and I can't see him anywhere. He's a good talent, who doesn't get his due for many reasons, though lately has seemed to really pick up his game. He's a great fit for my promotion, and can be put in any position on the card. My next pick is... Manabu Nakanishi! As for my venue, it came down to a select group of arenas, but in the end, there can be only one. I had considered a venue of size, and I mean size, but while those venues make for great crowd visuals, the atmosphere usually sucks because of the acoustics. In the end, I went for a venue with a lot of history, and one that has seen many classic matches over the years, making it a virtual mecca of ***** bouts. My chosen venue is... Tokyo Nippon Budokan! The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 The whole arena thing was harder than I thought it was going to be. When I started thinking about it I had it narrowed down to 4 pretty well (knowing that there was 0 chance MSG would be there). Kiel Auditorium (which Franchise took before I went), The Omni (which I took) and two others that I'll enter in here once they either get selected or...dont. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 I really think we could have a second round of a venue draft. It's so rich in options.
naiwf 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2008 I had to debate the whole arena thing for a while yesterday. I have a lot of workers who would be over in the South based on when their peaks were, but I also have a lot of guys who first got noticed in the Northeast. I knew that MSG would be gone first, but I think with my venue selection I can count on the same exact fanbase which is just as good as far as I'm concerned. My venue is The Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale (Long Island), NY. The manager was a lay up for me and I knew I'd pick her from the moment we were told that managers would be allowed. I couldn't find a really clear picture of her with Chris Benoit or Sandman and 2 Cold Scorpio together, but that's who Woman will be escorting to the ring on my card. If only I'd taken Doom instead of the APA she'd have a huge stable of people she could work with. Argh. In any case Woman will always be my favorite female manager/valet of all time and I'm happy to get her here just because she wouldn't seem right anywhere else. Broward83 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 So, I'm going to pick a manager this round. Francine Now, for the venue...ugh. It's pretty hard for me to choose as there are a few spots I'd pick for my promotion. The city has always supported wrestling when it comes thru be it WWF / ECW / WCW or any of the local promotions that have run in or near it. After a ton of thought put into it.. I've gone with: The Summit in Houston, TX (once home to various TV tapings, and noted for hosting the first Royal Rumble on PPV)
PILLS! PILLS! PILLS! 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 For my locale and venue, I am going to have to go with a place that is close to home, because, well... it is close to home. Growing up as a wrestling fan I had the honor to attend several wrestling cards at this historic arena. I got to see Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels go at it in grueling cage match. I got to see Arn Anderson and Ric Flair go at it in... a grueling cage match. Anyway, for my city and venue, I am proud to select an arena that has been host to a great many pay-per-view and live telecast showings, as well as the only arena to feature three WrestleMania cards besides MSG, ladies and gentlemen, I give you... located in suburban Chicago... THE ROSEMONT HORIZON (and, no, I will not acknowledge the building by its current namesake) Now, for my 30th selection, I will, of course, exercise my right to acquire a managerial talent. While there are several mouthpieces on the board that would fit like a glove, few of my working wrestlers are complimented by their token managers like Jimmy Rave is complimented by my next draft pick. All I'm trying to say, is, if you do not buy a ticket to my supercard to see Jimmy Rave make his mark as the top force in the Junior Heavyweight Division, then he will have no other option than to raise the taxes that he has imposed on the people of Ghana, West Africa... PRINCE NANA Now, go in the back and sit in the air conditioning.

Maztinho 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 Location location location.... The Tokyo Ariake Colosseum while not as historical as HTQ's pick, it's still got a good wrestling feel, and it has it's own fighting cred. And just because... Ken the Box! You can mark the fuck out now.

Diamonddust 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 With the next selection in the draft, I'm going to go ahead and wait to select Manny's opponent so I can get probably the best manager still on the board. He's a slimy, sleazy, cheating, snake in the grass, and yet... he's known, managerial speaking, for playing a character much darker than his original one. I'm taking the "original" character, so to speak, as he'll be the classic mouthpiece for my "A-List" heels of Race, Bundy, and the Andersons. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm proud to select PERCIVAL PRINGLE III Now, for my venue, I have found the perfect place to hold my super-card. My roster is made up of some northern guys, but even they had long stretches in the southern territories, plus the bulk of my roster made their names in the south. I wanted to keep things in the south, and I came up with two possible venues at first. One was The Omni, and the other will be left unsaid until it is selected. Still, they weren't big enough to hold a true "supercard", until I realized something. I have someone on my roster, The Junkyard Dog, who drew a ridiculous amount of people to this venue. I also have people on my roster who worked the territory this place is located and were very good business. It's located in a city that is considered an international city so my entire roster will play well here, plus it gives the event a "big time" feel. It has hosted some major cards in the past, and that is why I am proud to host my event at... THE LOUISIANA SUPERDOME NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

King Kamala 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 I hope this isn't considered a spoiler but since there are so many of them, I figure it isn't. Is anybody else surprised that no announcers have been selected thus far? I mean Heenan and Cornette can be color commentators but I think they were both selected to be managers. There's one announcer in particular who I thought would be one of the first non-wrestler selections.

Guest Report post Posted July 31, 2008 First, I have to get this manager first, as it's so integral to one person's character. http://www.geocities.com/blasto1979/machoman.jpg Didn't want to post such a large image, but yeah, that's Elizabeth. Now, for my venue, I really wanted to take the Superdome, but I can't do that now, can I? Seeing as I have a good mix of northern and southern guys on my roster, I should find somewhere in between. Well, I'm not going to do that either. Instead, I'm going to take Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted July 31, 2008 Should post it 909, the forum will shrink it to an acceptable size. But yes, the first lady of wrestling is a nailed on perfect pick.
