I know my offense is going to depend a lot on my coach, and my defense on its personnel, so I'm just putting down basic positions thus far; plus, I have some guys on D who can play two positions, particularly in the secondary. Chad Johnson, WR

- Over 1,000 yards receiving in 6 of his first 7 seasons in the NFL

- Led the AFC in receiving for 4 straight years (came 3rd last season)

- Top 20 among active players in receiving touchdowns, yards and in receptions in total (and is the youngest player on each list)

 

With a ton of character guys to keep him in line, Ocho Cinco will be a huge asset to my offense. Equally adept as a possession receiver, as a big play guy and as a touchdown threat, Johnson's speed and toughness will help him be the center of my WR core. If he stays healthy (and actually plays), there is little doubt he will finish his career very high on every list possible for a wide receiver.

He revolutionized the tight end position more than, maybe, any other player in history. Excellent both a blocker and a receiving threat, Mackey was the first big play tight end, twice averaging over 20 yrds/catch in a season. He was also a good punt returner and very durable, missing only one game in his 10 years in the league. With him catching and blocking, my offense just stepped up to another level.

Regardless of "Spygate" he was a mainstay as a coach. He's most known for tag teaming with Bill Parcells but he's a genius at making adjustments in game and figuring out the little things opposing teams do, thus being able to win games. He's a pass happy head coach who's unafraid to make the tough decisions and is a perfect fit for my 3-4 defense.

 

And he's also had his team win 18 and 21 straight games... that's not easy.

That's a bad man right there. Hutch (along with Walter Jones) helped make Shaun Alexander an MVP-caliber player, and as soon as he left Seattle, Alexander went to shit (to be fair, there were other reasons, but Hutch's departure was a big part of it). Once Hutch got to Minnesota, he helped Chester Taylor turn in a 1,200-yard season and now he's helping Adrian Peterson become one of the best backs in the league. He signed a record contract for a guard (7 years, $49 million) so he's also helping future great guards get paid.

Whoops! Totally missed that. Anyways, moving right along.. I can't believe this guy hasn't been taken yet. I've actually been targetting him for several rounds, but haven't pulled the trigger because I felt I could catch him later. As one of the few NFL DPOTYs left (if maybe the only one), Harvey was the cornerstone of the famed Cowboys' "Doomsday Defense" on the line. He was one of the first great pass rushers (along with Willie Davis, the guy playing on the other side of my all-time great line) and had 20 sacks in one season (Cowboys franchise record), immediately followed by a 14 sack season. Since I don't have a whole lot on my defensive line, Martin instantly boosts the ability I have there, and gives instant credibility to the defense.

 

Now I'm just afraid I probably won't get the guy I was targetting to be my middle linebacker, but I didn't think I'd get him anyways, so c'est la vie.
