How is BJ so filthy rich, and why does this come up all the time? Why does it matter? I don't understand why people use this against him.

 

What the hell is up with Frank Shamrock? The guy seems to have ADD to the extreme, as I don't have enough fingers to count the number of projects he's started and dropped. He comes across as crazy in interviews, and from an outside perspective it seems he is all talk and no work when it comes to carrying out his plans. I just read an interview today and once again I am perplexed by the man.

 

I have been assured by a very trustworthy source that Brandon Vera will kill Tim Sylvia when they fight. The reign of terror is over.

Btw, apparently Jacare has been picked up by PRIDE. Of all the Sub grappling superstars, he's definitely the guy who I think would do best in MMA.

It all depends on how they take getting punched in the face. Werdum can take it, but guys like Jean Jacques Machado couldn't. Well, he could take it, but I guess essentially that's the problem, heh.

Jacare already has a few MMA fights under his belt, and in the one loss, his first fight in which he got KO'ed by a veteran in Macao (sp), it was because he wanted to prove he could strike. He kept getting tagged but kept coming forward as well. Stupid strategy, and the rest of his fights he wins in under two minutes or so because he plays it smart and takes the guy down, but I guess it's a good sign that he can handle it.

 

Thing is, his sub grappling style is very dynamic. He works well off his back, constantly being on the offensive as well as doing well at controlling the person on top (which is useful to defend strikes). More importantly, he's' an excellent wrestler, so in MMA, he should end up on top most of the time. Throw in the fact that he's a damn good athlete who is quite strong for his size (unlike say a PDP) and that's why I think he's got more potential than a Garcia or even Roger Gracie.

 

I think he will essentially be a much more exciting version of Paolo Filho.

"More exciting version of Paulo Filho" is akin to referring to a food product as "It tastes better then melted pig shit mixed with cigarette ash". You can't really go any lower then Filho, though I suspect there are fighters out there I'm blessed to have not seen that make him look downright dynamic by comparison.

The thing that Jacare doesn't seem to have that Arona and Filho do, is that awkward looking toughness where they get hit square in the face, and rather than getting hurt, they just look like they pooped themselves momentarily. Jacare got hit by frigging Macaco, and his brains blew up.

You know, normally I'd go on and on about how right I was about Mayhem sucking, but even I gave Frank no chance in this match. Props to him.

Yeah I wrote Frank off completely after the Condit loss. Maybe him talking about how his head wasn't in it wasn't an excuse. Apparently it was pretty dominant/convincing. After seeing what GSP did to Mayhem, I know he's not an easy guy to stop.

 

Maybe 185 is the right weight for him. He would kill Lutter. Come on.
