Mik Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Joe Scarola opened his own BJJ school. Who the fuck is going to want to train with him?
Lt. Al Giardello Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Who the fuck is going to want to train with him? Anyone who wants to learn from Matt Serra's only black belt. Plus I bet it's a lot cheaper then Serra's or Renzo's gym.
Mik Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 Yeah, seriously. All of that is negated by the fact that he's a quitter and made himself look like a giant walking bitch on national TV for everyone to see. Throw in the fact that he's blackballed by the UFC and he's not training anybody interested in MMA - only grapplers.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 The other thing is that, I thought him and Serra would get back on good terms rather easily. You know, it's just a tv show and it's not really that big a deal. Well, apparently it is, because Serra still hasn't forgiven him, kicked him out of his school and essentially cut all ties with him. That's crazy to me, because Scarola was in Serra's corner for the GSP fight, and was the best man at his wedding.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 8, 2007 Author Report Posted December 8, 2007 http://www.dailymotion.com/Princenino/vide...-k1-wgp_extreme Bonjasky vs. Hari, in one of the better kickboxing bouts that I have seen. Nothing uber-dramatic, but a very technical fight with both guys throwing combos and countering in the heat of an attack. Just a super dope fight and imo the wrong guy won.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted December 8, 2007 Report Posted December 8, 2007 UFC ruling on Sherk UFC officials confirmed today that Sean Sherk has been stripped of his lightweight championship due to California upholding the steroid test result in the hearing on 12/4. I presume the winner of the BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson fights becomes the new lightweight champion?
Lord of The Curry Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 So I found Cro-Cops action movie Ultimate Force on DVD today.
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Haven't seen any mention, but might as well talk about it here. Semmy Schilt re-won the K-1 WGP for the third time. He's also the only person in K-1 history to win the GP three years in a row. He actually was in danger for a short period this year, as Feitosa nearly KO'd him with a head kick, but Schilt pretty much owned him beyond that. There were two injuries against him, as Le Banner hurt his leg, and Aerts did as well...but as the fights were going, it didn't really matter. Schilt was winning both fights at that point in time. I REALLY wanted to see Badr Hari versus Schilt if only to see what Hari would pull out, but Hari wasn't in the conditioning for the tournament. Had he beaten Bonjasky, he wouldn't have made it past Aerts or likely have even made it as far as Bonjasky did. Edit: Also, if anyone knows where to see past K-1 WGP's lemme know. I've never seen any before 2006, and I'd really, really like to.
Mik Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Anybody else getting pumped for the WEC card Wednesday? Pulver's 145 debut and after Swanson talked some trash it should be a good fight... you get a Filho beatdown and also a fairly respectable opponent for Faber in Jeff Curran. Hopefully they can find a way to get Kid Yamamoto over to the US to make that dream match go down, but this will do for now. 3 title fights and another big name on free tv = fun times.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 http://mmafightvideos.blogspot.com/search/label/ufc%2077 Jason Black vs. Matt Grice. INSANE second round, both in the start and the finish of.
Lei Tong Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 I'd be throwing alot of these unaired fights up if I knew how to get certain security measures.

I've never seen any before 2006, and I'd really, really like to. I've seen every one and have 1993 to 2002. Sorry to be a cock tease, but they are all on VHS and I only have one VCR, but I have edited versions of them on DVD. If you're really interested, drop me a P.M. 1996-1999 are far and away the best, hell they are probably four of the ten best fight cards EVER, including Pride and UFC. I used to post K-1 matches on here, but nobody seemed to be interested at the time. I can change that if you guys are interested in seeing more.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 I'd be throwing alot of these unaired fights up if I knew how to get certain security measures. Anything in particular you'd share with us... ? ... If you were able to?
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 11, 2007 Author Report Posted December 11, 2007 I was watching some of the 99 GP... Aerts vs. LeBanner is fucking retarded. I was going to watch Hoost vs. Hug but I got a phone call that didn't seem to end just when it started.

I was going to watch Hoost vs. Hug but I got a phone call that didn't seem to end just when it started. If you watch that fight, it's scary for me to note that their two fights from '96 and '97 ARE EVEN BETTER, especially '96. Probably a top five all-time fight, despite the puzzling scoring.

Youth N Asia Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 UFC made the official announcement today of Josh Burkman vs. Mike Swick, in Swick's move to welterweight, as the main event for a 1/23 Spike special from the Palms in Las Vegas. Also announced was Patrick Cote vs. Drew McFedries. both sound like good fights
Lord of The Curry Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Swick/Burkman could turn out to be a disaster. I hope I'm wrong but both guys can be hot and cold with both leaning towards the latter based on their last fights.
Youth N Asia Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 I'm looking for Swick to put another winning streak together again
Hawkius Maximus Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDobZgRE73k&NR=1 PRIDE Lives. Such a blatent video about it too, which makes it even more awesome.
Lord of The Curry Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 If the main turns out to be Fedor vs Hong-Man Choi in a goddamn kickboxing bout I'll shit a chicken.
Mik Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3qihj_ki...ew-on-e60_sport Great piece.
Mik Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 I'm just as jazzed for the WEC card tonight as I have been for any UFC in recent memory... probably as far back as Stacked. Hopefully the fights that are supposed to deliver actually do.
Broward83 Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 This'll be my first WEC event that I'll be watching. I've heard a little bit about Filho and Faber...anything else I should know about WEC?
Lei Tong Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Well, with Bowles KO'ing Galvao, their bantamweight division is starting to look pretty damn legit.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 HOLY FUCKITY FUCK That was the radest german suplex ever. McCall turned into Misawa. Tremendous finishing sequence.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Mir is ten feet taller than Charlie... and is being a TOTAL cockblock with the mic today.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Filho's stache is the biggest prospect in the game today. If he lets that sucker reach it's potential, we'll have full-on cop stache.
RavishingRickRudo Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 See this unhappy face? No stache.
