Yeah, seriously. All of that is negated by the fact that he's a quitter and made himself look like a giant walking bitch on national TV for everyone to see.

Throw in the fact that he's blackballed by the UFC and he's not training anybody interested in MMA - only grapplers.

The other thing is that, I thought him and Serra would get back on good terms rather easily. You know, it's just a tv show and it's not really that big a deal. Well, apparently it is, because Serra still hasn't forgiven him, kicked him out of his school and essentially cut all ties with him. That's crazy to me, because Scarola was in Serra's corner for the GSP fight, and was the best man at his wedding.

UFC ruling on Sherk

UFC officials confirmed today that Sean Sherk has been stripped of his lightweight championship due to California upholding the steroid test result in the hearing on 12/4.

I presume the winner of the BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson fights becomes the new lightweight champion?

Haven't seen any mention, but might as well talk about it here.

Semmy Schilt re-won the K-1 WGP for the third time. He's also the only person in K-1 history to win the GP three years in a row.

He actually was in danger for a short period this year, as Feitosa nearly KO'd him with a head kick, but Schilt pretty much owned him beyond that.

There were two injuries against him, as Le Banner hurt his leg, and Aerts did as well...but as the fights were going, it didn't really matter. Schilt was winning both fights at that point in time.

I REALLY wanted to see Badr Hari versus Schilt if only to see what Hari would pull out, but Hari wasn't in the conditioning for the tournament. Had he beaten Bonjasky, he wouldn't have made it past Aerts or likely have even made it as far as Bonjasky did.

Edit: Also, if anyone knows where to see past K-1 WGP's lemme know. I've never seen any before 2006, and I'd really, really like to.

Anybody else getting pumped for the WEC card Wednesday?

Pulver's 145 debut and after Swanson talked some trash it should be a good fight... you get a Filho beatdown and also a fairly respectable opponent for Faber in Jeff Curran. Hopefully they can find a way to get Kid Yamamoto over to the US to make that dream match go down, but this will do for now.

3 title fights and another big name on free tv = fun times.

I've seen every one and have 1993 to 2002. Sorry to be a cock tease, but they are all on VHS and I only have one VCR, but I have edited versions of them on DVD. If you're really interested, drop me a P.M. 1996-1999 are far and away the best, hell they are probably four of the ten best fight cards EVER, including Pride and UFC. I used to post K-1 matches on here, but nobody seemed to be interested at the time. I can change that if you guys are interested in seeing more.

I was watching some of the 99 GP... Aerts vs. LeBanner is fucking retarded. I was going to watch Hoost vs. Hug but I got a phone call that didn't seem to end just when it started.

If you watch that fight, it's scary for me to note that their two fights from '96 and '97 ARE EVEN BETTER, especially '96. Probably a top five all-time fight, despite the puzzling scoring.

I watched the whole 1999 GP, it was fucking awesome. I can't imagine that Hoost/Hug fights were any better then that year, got to see it for myself.

UFC made the official announcement today of Josh Burkman vs. Mike Swick, in Swick's move to welterweight, as the main event for a 1/23 Spike special from the Palms in Las Vegas. Also announced was Patrick Cote vs. Drew McFedries.

both sound like good fights

I'm just as jazzed for the WEC card tonight as I have been for any UFC in recent memory... probably as far back as Stacked.

Hopefully the fights that are supposed to deliver actually do.
