bob_barron Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Amy Poehler is the first castmember in the history of SNL to get a nomination in the actor/actress in a comedy category. all previous nominations were in the performance in a variety program category I read this off another board. Can anyone confirm this? Bob? That is correct, and I don't really understand why they changed it
Youth N Asia Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 The Ricky Gervais stuff was great
DrVenkman PhD Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 It sure was. "Cheap imitation" Emmy, heh. COLBERT WINS! YES! I liked the SNL writers being represented by Miis.
strummer Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Yeah Daily Show wins again at least Colbert won and the Tina Fey love tour continues. I think she's a lock as best actress which is hilarious in and of itself
strummer Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Rickles!!! Colbert will be great this week
Youth N Asia Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 Glad to see John Adams doing well. It was a pretty good series
Youth N Asia Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 and The Wire's lone nomination (writing) gets passed over
milliondollarchamp Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Wow, did Glenn Close just order America Ferrera to hold the emmy for her?
starvenger Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 As for reality competition, it's probably going to Amazing Race once again. The Mole came along too late in the nominations process, I think so there's nothing I see that would truly stands out to beat it. 6 in a row. I think this category was created just so Bruckheimer could collect Emmys.
strummer Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Ha Tina won an award for acting Nice moment though
strummer Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 30 Rock wins again Alec is still banging Marci Klein?
SuperJerk Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Jon Hamm got robbed. Word. This is Don Draper's world. We're just living in it.
Ravenbomb Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 I'm pretty sure that fuck the Emmys.
strummer Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 What a mundane show Have to love Heidi Klum co-hosting for T and A purposes. She had no poise or timing whatsoever. Also flubbed her lines several times and missed cues. But she did look hot
Lord of The Curry Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Seeing Mayor Royce from The Wire onstage with the dyke from Sex and The City made this a thumbs-up show. Wire4Life.
Youth N Asia Posted September 22, 2008 Author Report Posted September 22, 2008 Would have been nice to see Dexter get an Emmy, but I knew it wasn't happening. Does anyone actually watch Mad Men?
Kahran Ramsus Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Glad to see John Adams doing well. It was a pretty good series I thought it was great, but Dillane should have beaten Wilkinson. His version of Thomas Jefferson was probably the best part of the show.
2GOLD Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Would have been nice to see Dexter get an Emmy, but I knew it wasn't happening. Does anyone actually watch Mad Men? I tried watching, but no one is likable. Good for Bryan Cranston though, he is awesome in Breaking Bad.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 22, 2008 Report Posted September 22, 2008 Mad Men is great. More people should watch. The payoff to S1's big storyline was so unexpected & phenomenal.
haws bah gawd Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 You can color me pissed as well that The Shield didn't get a single nomination. It's far and away my favorite show on TV, and for it to get overlooked year after year is unforgivable.
Youth N Asia Posted September 23, 2008 Author Report Posted September 23, 2008 Nothing for the Shield, nothing really for The Wire, nothing for Brotherhood, Big Love got no love. Yeah, to hell with the Emmys really
Cheech Tremendous Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Does anyone actually watch Mad Men? I just started watching recently, but it's great. I'd highly recommend it.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Did you go back to watch S1, or did you just pick it up starting this season?
Cheech Tremendous Posted September 23, 2008 Report Posted September 23, 2008 Did you go back to watch S1, or did you just pick it up starting this season? Just started in on this season, but I'm going to get Season 1 soon as a I have a chance.
SuperJerk Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 The two seasons take place over a year apart, so you really don't miss anything continuity-wise by just watching this season except for some backstory of why certain people react to certain other people in wierd ways. Of course, if you go back and watch season 1, you'll be treating yourself to some good shit.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 The 1st episode loses some of its kick at the end when you already know Don is married & has a family.
