AlaskanHero 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Followed the Bengals/Ravens game on the Bengals message board. Yeaaaah, lot of suicidal folks there. But they've handed out blame already for the teams (predicted) 0-16 record. Top of the list is a four-way jockey between the O-Line, the O-Coordinator, Marvin Lewis, and Mike Brown. Can't really rag on the D too much though. From what I was able to see, they did a good job. Especially considering how tired they had to be from the offense being unable to move the ball and stay on the field. Nonetheless, I'm not expecting good things this season since it only gets rougher from here.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 New offensive play calling? You mean Jauron's not calling a three yard out on 3rd and 7? Trust me I'm as shocked as anyone. I saw more variety today than all of last season combined.
Just John 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 I think the Chiefs got 5 downs on their final goal line series. Of course, they still couldn't put it in. Pats could survive without Brady today, but they might want him back before they face a team with an NFL-level offense. Steelers looked real good today. The O-line didn't appear to have many problems against a solid D-line, and that was my biggest concern for the game. I think the Texans will be better than they showed today, but I still feel like Pittsburgh has been overlooked. They're still gonna be a strong team.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Far out. He must have had a moment of clarity sometime this summer. I can't really articulate how much I hated that fucker when he was with the Bears.

Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Not quite as annoying yet. I definitely see the parallel, though.
MFer 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 I can't emphasize enough just how badly Detroit's front seven is getting run over. They'd better rectify that quick or they're going to get murdered in the North. It's time to put the young guys in. The Lions' front 7 for the most part are comprised of undersized guys who should be backups and special teams players. Detroit has a number of rookies and 2nd-year players who should be playing in that front 7 as well as the O-line. Shaun Rogers became a scapegoat last year but I bet a lot of those Lions' players wish he was on their side now.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 It was every damn play! Counters, tosses, off-tackle, up the gut, you name it. Even the fullback bashed through for 4 yards on a third and short.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 It was every damn play! Counters, tosses, off-tackle, up the gut, you name it. Even the fullback bashed through for 4 yards on a third and short. The Chargers look almost as bad defensively.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Cleveland has no pass rush. No containment and no pressure on Romo. That Dallas line is way too damn big for them to handle.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Didn't they just trade like all their picks for a few defensive linemen?
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 I should've really started that statement by praising the Cowboys O-line. That's really more accurate than saying it's all on Cleveland's end.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 I guess taking the Chargers at home over the Steve Smith-less Panthers in a knockout league wasn't a good move this week. Down 9 with 10 minutes to go things aren't looking good.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 It's like the Chargers thought the season began next week or something.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 How obvious is the loss of Lorenzo Neal?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 LT couldn't get anything going, the run game is pretty shitty. Hell the whole offense looked shitty outside two drives or so. So pretty obvious, though this Tolbert kid looks like he could do something good at that position in the future.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 And of course the Chargers go straight down the field 80 yards in 3 minutes. Maybe there's still hope.
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 How much do you think Flozell Adams eats?? About six chickens, 3 pigs, 1 cow, and 2 bushels of grain weekly? The size of that guy...

jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 NFL.com used to be cool when they gave free audio from both the home and road teams about 2 years ago. Now they charge for full game audio, but it's supposed to be able to give Red Zone audio for free, but I can't even get that working.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 San Diego loses with no time left. I've walked out of a stadium like that on opening day before. Not a fun walk.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Aw shit, I missed whatever happened in SD because I'd switched to the NBC highlight show, forgetting there was even another game other than that blah Cowboys-Browns affair.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 1. What team will suffer a catastrophic injury in week one? So who had the Patriots?
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 speaking of the NBC show, it's nice that they brought back the extended highlight reels this year, since last year they seemed to have maybe five seconds of footage per game because it took away from Olbermann talking about whatthefuckever... but, really, how many talking heads does this show need
Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Carolina's next five games include Chicago, Atlanta, and Kansas City at home, with road trips to Minnesota and Tampa Bay. It's not inconceivable they start 5-1.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 The Panthers have started off well the last two years, only to unravel come November This year will not likely vary from that
garfieldsnose 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 I hope it doesn't vary from that, because the Eagles have Carolina's first round pick next year and I'm gonna be rooting against the Panthers all season. That, and that fucktard of a 2004 NFC Championship Game has not left my mind.
