Followed the Bengals/Ravens game on the Bengals message board. Yeaaaah, lot of suicidal folks there. But they've handed out blame already for the teams (predicted) 0-16 record. Top of the list is a four-way jockey between the O-Line, the O-Coordinator, Marvin Lewis, and Mike Brown. Can't really rag on the D too much though. From what I was able to see, they did a good job. Especially considering how tired they had to be from the offense being unable to move the ball and stay on the field. Nonetheless, I'm not expecting good things this season since it only gets rougher from here.

I think the Chiefs got 5 downs on their final goal line series. Of course, they still couldn't put it in. Pats could survive without Brady today, but they might want him back before they face a team with an NFL-level offense.

Steelers looked real good today. The O-line didn't appear to have many problems against a solid D-line, and that was my biggest concern for the game. I think the Texans will be better than they showed today, but I still feel like Pittsburgh has been overlooked. They're still gonna be a strong team.

Far out. He must have had a moment of clarity sometime this summer. I can't really articulate how much I hated that fucker when he was with the Bears.

Not quite as annoying yet. I definitely see the parallel, though.

I can't emphasize enough just how badly Detroit's front seven is getting run over. They'd better rectify that quick or they're going to get murdered in the North.

It's time to put the young guys in. The Lions' front 7 for the most part are comprised of undersized guys who should be backups and special teams players. Detroit has a number of rookies and 2nd-year players who should be playing in that front 7 as well as the O-line. Shaun Rogers became a scapegoat last year but I bet a lot of those Lions' players wish he was on their side now.

It was every damn play! Counters, tosses, off-tackle, up the gut, you name it. Even the fullback bashed through for 4 yards on a third and short.

Cleveland has no pass rush. No containment and no pressure on Romo. That Dallas line is way too damn big for them to handle.

I should've really started that statement by praising the Cowboys O-line. That's really more accurate than saying it's all on Cleveland's end.

How much do you think Flozell Adams eats?? About six chickens, 3 pigs, 1 cow, and 2 bushels of grain weekly?

The size of that guy...

NFL.com used to be cool when they gave free audio from both the home and road teams about 2 years ago. Now they charge for full game audio, but it's supposed to be able to give Red Zone audio for free, but I can't even get that working.

What a finish!

That's my surprise team, baby!

Aw shit, I missed whatever happened in SD because I'd switched to the NBC highlight show, forgetting there was even another game other than that blah Cowboys-Browns affair.

Posted

speaking of the NBC show, it's nice that they brought back the extended highlight reels this year, since last year they seemed to have maybe five seconds of footage per game because it took away from Olbermann talking about whatthefuckever... but, really, how many talking heads does this show need

Carolina's next five games include Chicago, Atlanta, and Kansas City at home, with road trips to Minnesota and Tampa Bay.

It's not inconceivable they start 5-1.

I hope it doesn't vary from that, because the Eagles have Carolina's first round pick next year and I'm gonna be rooting against the Panthers all season. That, and that fucktard of a 2004 NFC Championship Game has not left my mind.
