This is the biggest match in the history of UFC but it sure doesn't feel like it right now. Maybe that'll change a little with the Countdown special, but the promotion for this fight has been shockingly underwhelming.

I'll be watching it either way as there is a Hooters a block from my house, but when I look at how great the December card is, and with my finances tightening a little bit lately, if it comes down to making a choice, I will skip this PPV and order the December one.
Hawkius Maximus Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Meltzer's talked about the UFC's lack of hype for this show for a few weeks now. He thinks it's them finally being burned out from doing way too much between UFC and WEC. They had all kinds of things planned to make this show be huge. A three part Spike special for instance, but for whatever reason, UFC didn't do them. Meltz seems to think they now have a "we gotta build for this show too" mentality now instead of focusing on what should be their biggest one. The lack of buzz is incredible considering how this fight set the world on fire months ago.

He has had one fight since being murdered by BJ and he looked scared/completely out of his game at that.

He has had one fight since being murdered by BJ and he looked scared/completely out of his game at that. He got caught in omoplata that Tibeau did nothing with for 2 and a half minutes and then guillotined him soundly. At what point was he scared or out of his game?

I think the fact that he remaind calm (and almost comical) during the omoplata and submitted a guy who up to that point had never been tapped is a plus.

Five straight wins (eight if you count the Emerson/Hill/Maynard fights on TUF), he hasn't fought any of the top guys but he's the only guy consistently winning, everyone else has at least one loss in the same timeframe.

They pussied out and scrapped the 24/7 style type hype shows but my guide has an All Access on both Brock and Randy listed for Thursday night. I'm not clear, however, if they are new episodes or repeats of previous All Access on each guy.

It was in jeopardy as I knew for sure they December one was being purchased, so this one almost was going to be watched at the sportsbar to save a little cash, but alas, I have a job!!! GAME ON!!!!

UFC has a boner the size of Brock's chest tatoo for Carwin and Velasquez and with Werdum gone they both have moved much closer to title shots before as Fabricio certainly would've been set for one in early 2009 had he not got KTFO'd.
