EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 If the Dodgers hold their lead, and the Cardinals hold their lead, the magic number for the Dodgers is down to three, correct? I just know we're making the playoffs. Yes. Three to clinch.
Guest Smues Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Yankess officially eliminated from the post season. Huzzah.

bob_barron Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Seriously Smues. Is it an inside joke or can you just not spell? Good to see the Braves finally beat the Phillies.
Guest Smues Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Question: Since Tampa won the season series with the The Angels Angels of Anahiem, if they finish the season with the same record do they get home field throughout the AL playoffs?
KingPK Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Dear God, that's the worst possible angle for that picture.
treble Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I'm not sure if there's a baseball player I hate more right now. Did he do a stupid fucking dance again?
KingPK Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I don't know, Heidi Whatney got drenched with champagne and...well....I had to go to my bunk for a while.
naiwf Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Dear God, that's the worst possible angle for that picture. That's how I felt when I learned that the Yankees were officially eliminated.
Precious Roy Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I can't wait to see the Red Sox lose in the playoffs
CanadianChris Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 MLB should have told us about this league switch earlier...
MFer Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 ESPN crawler says that Todd Jones is gonna retire...today just keeps getting better and better.
Cheech Tremendous Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I can't wait to see the Red Sox lose in the playoffs And if they don't?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I don't think Red Sox will lose. It feels like Tampa will destroy the Twins and Boston will beat the Angels like always, then I think the "experience" of Boston will help them defeat Tampa in the ALCS. Then clearly the AL is sorta kinda very much so better than the NL, so Boston will end up winning it all.
Guest Smues Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I can't wait to see the Red Sox lose in the playoffs And if they don't? Then he will have to wait.
Guest Smues Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 So I found something worse than the MC Hammer Braves ad. No wonder Atlanta sucked this year. Man I will never look at Turner Field the same way. Especially the video screen. (About the 1:07 to 1:10 mark of this video is good old fashioned nightmare fuel.)
CanadianChris Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 Looks like Sabathia is starting on short rest for the Brewers again tonight. I guess they must trying to pitch him on Sunday as well, otherwise I'd have to wonder why Dale Sveum thinks he needs his best pitcher to beat the freakin' Pirates.

This way they get two more starts from C.C.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 My Phillies Prize Pack came in today (the incentive for winning the "Stump the Fans" contest. This year's haul. Also picked up issue seven of the Phillies magazine. I'm going to love that ski cap come winter.
Smartly Pretty Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 John Maine is going to be activated today. If he can pitch effectively, he has to eat a lot of bullpen innings. Or close and have Ayala eat the bulk of the bullpen innings.
Cheech Tremendous Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum, Johan Santana, or other? Defend your pick.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum, Johan Santana, or other? Defend your pick. Lincecum. Second in ERA, first in strikeouts, 17 wins in front of one of the league's worst offenses. Just an outstanding season.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 Mickey Vernon passed away today at the age of 90.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted September 24, 2008 Author Report Posted September 24, 2008 Myers has nothing tonight. Get him the hell out of there. Edit: No, I didn't mean Condrey.
devo Posted September 24, 2008 Report Posted September 24, 2008 I wish the Cubs would give Bill Murray a semi-regular commentary job. I'd watch whenever he's on. Edit: When Oliver Perez shows his displeasure at a call, he's being immature. When Carlos Zambrano does the same, he's being fiery. Thanks, Rick Sutcliffe. Edit the second: Carlos Delgado is kinda good.
Bruiser Chong Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 Everyone will overlook the fact that Zambrano was basically throwing him a meatball to avoid walking his fourth straight batter.
devo Posted September 25, 2008 Report Posted September 25, 2008 A - How do you not take Perez out after that last walk when it was obvious to everyone in the Tri-State area that he had nothing? B - How in God's name do you put Sanchez out there when that's the exact situation Joe Smith is in the pen for?
