Boon Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 CNN only chimed in to point out the novelty that Obama became President at noon, regardless of oath.
DMann2003 Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Teddy suffered a seizure at the luncheon I see, that's got to make things a little bittersweet right now.
Anakin Flair Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Sen. Byrd also had medical trouble, though of what kind I don't know.

Were you expecting him to heal them by letting them touch the hem of his garment or something?
SuperJerk Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Seeing Cheney hauled off in a wheelchair brought a sick smile to my face He's slowly morphing into a villain from the James Bond series. Or Mr. Potter from It's a Wonderful Life. More on the Oath screw-up: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090120/ap_on_...n_chief_justice
Dobbs 3K Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 I don't get all the attention on the "flub". Stuff happens. I guess it's OK if that was worst thing to happen during the inauguration. Did Bush actually get booed? I was actually listening on the radio on the way to work and it sounded like he at least got polite applause when he was announced.
Anakin Flair Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 People were singing the 'Goodbye' song and booing, though they were more subdued when he came down the steps.
ScottishArmsDealer Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 People were singing the 'Goodbye' song and booing, though they were more subdued when he came down the steps. Pretty loudly at this point though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNdVj_jeWJI#t=4m50s
Guest Smues Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Amazingly awesome headline at cnn.com right now.
CBright7831 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I wonder how much they will have to drink tonight.
SuperJerk Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 This is pretty cool: http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2009/44.presid...tion/themoment/
Big Ol' Smitty Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I had fun watching perched on the WW2 Memorial. But goddamn it was cold. I couldn't feel my toes during the speech.
snuffbox Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Andrea Mitchell said there were no reported arrests yesterday. Absolutely crazy.
AntiLeaf33 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Andrea Mitchell said there were no reported arrests yesterday. Absolutely crazy. Can't be taking prisoners in a case like this. Kill all the ones that get out of hand.
Gary Floyd Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Well, that didn't take long. Choice quote: “It’s really nothing personal about the man. He speaks well … But I know it’s for the country’s own good that I do this,” Christopher reportedly wrote. “It’s not because I’m racist that I will kill Barack, it’s because I can no longer allow the Jewish parasites to bully their way into making the American people submit to their evil ways.”
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 That...doesn't even make sense.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Also that great American Rush Limbaugh is openly hoping for the President's failure. I see no redeeming qualities in the people the right look to.
Dobbs 3K Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Also that great American Rush Limbaugh is openly hoping for the President's failure. I see no redeeming qualities in the people the right look to. I can't believe Limbaugh is still on the radio.
SuperJerk Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Completely unnecessary, but it'll keep a vocal minority from belly-aching for the next four years: Obama takes oath for second time.
Art Sandusky Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Also that great American Rush Limbaugh is openly hoping for the President's failure. I see no redeeming qualities in the people the right look to. It's only because he loves this country so. It has to be destroyed to save it (like Korea), so let's root for the failure of our new president in a time of extraordinary national distress on multiple fronts.
AndrewTS Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 I can't believe Limbaugh is still on the radio. His face and figure is perfect for it, though!
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Completely unnecessary, but it'll keep a vocal minority from belly-aching for the next four years: Obama takes oath for second time. Better to be safe then sorry... and 4 more years of George W
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 So wait, Obama is Jewish? I thought he was s'posed to be an a-rab.
